It is easy to assume at first glance that Arden is the shy and introverted type. It's not entirely untrue as she prefers to keep to herself more often than not, but she can be something of a social butterfly when the mood strikes her. She is friendly and polite when approached by most others, spirited and playful in the company of close friends or family, but admittedly awkward and perhaps even a little standoffish towards the wealthy.
She's takes an open-minded approach to most people and situations alike, and she's always open to a change of opinion, but her low social status in the Tower leaves her bitter towards those at the top of the hierarchy. Arden enjoys her life as it is, however. She appreciates the fact that she is surrounded by real people with real problems, and that if she wants something in life she has to work hard to pay for it. No matter how small, she appreciates everything she has, because she had to earn it.
She speaks bluntly and honestly, preferring not to beat around the bush but instead to embrace the truth, no matter how ugly it is. This can sometimes make her a little insensitive towards others, but can be passed off as a tough love approach to handling difficult situations. She means well, to say the least, and provided you're not a complete and utter dickhead, Arden really isn't very hard to talk to or get along with. She has a sweet personality buried beneath all the shit in her life, and if she gives you the time of day it's because she genuinely cares. She's fiercely protective of her friends and family, and loyal to an absolute fault.
Make no mistake, Arden can be a complete hard-ass when she wants to be. She may be quiet and a little awkward at times, but she doesn't take well to abrasive personalities, nor to being mocked or looked down on, and so under these circumstances she is cold, uncompromising, and more often than not sarcastic. She's far too proud to sit back and take it. In this sense, it's easy to push her buttons and get an intense or violent reaction. She's not above being petty or revengeful, either.

Arden and her three other siblings were born and raised in Falkirk, Scotland. Contrary to their current setting, the Kidd family once occupied a cozy three-bedroom house in the Scottish countryside. They swapped their ordinary life in the UK for a rather crappy one in the US after their mother divorced Robert; Arden was around 10-11 at the time and Alison had not long been born.

Their current living arrangements are rather cramped in comparison to the life they once had. Their home is a two-bedroom apartment on Floor 210. They're not living in absolute poverty but when compared to the level of wealth the top levels share, their home is simply pathetic. Robert and Johnny share the bedroom with two single beds, while Arden and her two siblings share the other room, all sleeping in one king-sized. The girls' bedroom has enough spare room for a desk in the far corner. They have a decent, albeit rather small kitchen; the appliances all work and there's food in the fridge more often than not. They have a small TV in their sitting area, as well as 2 two-seater sofas and a coffee table. Nothing about the apartment screams 'fancy', but it's clean and homely.
