āI donāt know what youāre looking forā¦ what youāre looking forā¦ looking forā¦lookingā¦ But I know you wonāt find it hereā¦ find it hereā¦ it hereā¦ hereā¦ā
The unnaturally ghostly soft voice of a young girl echoed around in the still white nothing encircling a youthās pale form. He wore armor now rent, had a face as white as ice, eyes wide and face contorted in a mix of pain and disbelief. There was blood splattered across his body and a single drip fell from near his eye like a tear.
It wasnāt his blood.
āIf itās not here though?... not here thoughā¦ here thoughā¦hereā¦ Where can you find it?ā¦ can you find itā¦ you find itā¦ find itā¦ā
A drip was heard resounding in the fathomless chamber of pure white nothing as the drop of blood slid from the youthās cheek and into the nothing. Still staring into the beyond with no sense the young man raised his hand, moving in the still ness to touch his face. As he brought his fingers up from his cheek and looked upon the brown leather stained red he felt warmth upon his other cheek as a true tear blossomed and descended in the void.
āI have an idea!... have an idea!ā¦ an ideaā¦ideaā¦ Why not try out there?ā¦ try out thereā¦ out thereā¦ thereā¦ā
Another drip rang out
āWhy not?...ā
āWHY NOT?ā a man yelled, causing the young man to awake with a start as he leaned against the back rail of the cart they road in. āIf those villagers have food they can give us some in lue of some taxes right?ā
āYeah, problem with your plan is you still plan on taking taxes from them anyway.ā Another voice cut in, though sounding very uninterested.
The other man sitting on the front of the cart huffed, āBig deal, I still say we should take what we want, what point is there in being lackeys to Lord Sora if we canāt use our authority to make everyoneās lives easier?ā
A third voice from a man lying near the youths feet chimed in, āYeah but that would only really make your life easier, Deacon.ā He gave a uninterested nod toward the village buildings as they road by. āBesides we need to keep moving, leave them be. Torment the small folk on your own timeā¦ā
āOr not at allā¦ā The youth added, not looking up from his slouched position. He only half-heartedly said it, he wouldnāt stop them if they did decide to extort the villagers. Truly he couldnāt. He wasnāt the knightly prince anymore. He was now just a man. He was now weak.
=-=Raziel slept, as he had for months, cocooned in the spell that kept him trapped in his own mind=-=
=-=Planet Nirvana, Sora Kingdom, Outer Reaches=-=
A crack of thunder sounded and a flash of light struck out form the woods, but the locals paid it no mind. They had long since grown used to the odd sound of a storm where no rain was falling. A few moments later a figure in a dark green traveling cloak stepped from the trees still brushing flecks of smoldering ash from their cloak. The figure looked masculine in structure but was rather slight and not of broad structure as a full grown man. Beneath the traveling cloak a light glint of metal flashed now and then but the armor he wore was mostly leather with metal plates attached here and there, as the villagers had seen before. The figure tossed his hood back as he strode into town with a smile on his face. Yes it was a young man who looked to be about only 17, a shining sword glinting on his belt and a strange pistol at his hip beneath his cloak. The locals waved greeting not at all disturbed by the young manās appearance and in fact several knew him by name. The youth headed through the village to the far side where a clearing and makeshift dock was built, though no ships were moored.
Stepping up onto the docks the boy was greeted by a man sitting on a bench there, āAh, hello Aiden, you look well today. What brings you out to this realm?ā the elderly gent asked.
āMorning Mr. Ares, itās good to see you as well. Iām just doing something for the Knight. Heās given me someone to track down out here and bring back to him.ā The boy replied as he took out an official looking scroll.
The man whistled, āAh, heading out into the systems are you? Youāll want to be careful then, thereās naught but war out there these days I hear.ā The man cast a wary eye to the sky, āIt hasnāt made it here yet, and I hoped it never would, however that hope seems less likely nowā¦ā he looked back at the boy, āI just hope Iām on the winning side when it does come.ā
The boy nodded but kept his smile, āDonāt worry, we will be.ā
āI donāt think a ship is scheduled for today though. Want me to fetch olā Rufus for ya?ā the man offered beginning to stand. The boy simple bid him stay seated.
āNope, Iāve got it covered; Harvest is only a few sectors away from here and should have plenty of ships this time of year. I can manage.ā
The man didnāt bother asking what the boy meant, he had an idea, āSo, who are you supposed to find.
āNot just one person, the Sir wants me to find a group of people actually, though he said any of thme would be of great help.ā
āOh really? Must be quite a group if he places such trust in āem.ā
āTheyāve got quite the presumptuous name too.ā
āOh?ā
The boy stepped forward, standing at the edge of the dock and looked into the sky. He breathed in heavily and closed his eyes for a moment, when he opened them they were aglow with a dim light as he looked back at the man, āyep, they go by the Ultimate Organizationā¦ā with that the boy began to dissolve into a cloud of white light, particles that danced in the air. When he had completely dissolved the cloud remained for a moment before bursting into the sky in a stream of brilliance and streaking through the stars to the distant worlds now boiling over in war and suffering.
