Peyton is naturally reclusive, opting to shy away from people. She's curious, but very quiet about it. She is easily angered but keeps it bottle up inside until she explodes, which means she can also be very impatient. Since she doesn't really let out her emotions with words she uses music, hiding behind the melodies and notes.
Growing up with just her mother, Peyton learned to deal without the extras. She learned to live with what she had as well as she could and as soon as she hit high school she found solace in music. She learned how to play the piano and guitar, eating up the knowledge hungrily. She used the harmonies and melodies to find comfort and express herself. She soon found Dean when she was 16, a boy who seemed to love her at first. When he became abusive, she wrote it off as just a fluke. When he started to lose his temper more and more she learned to hide it, losing the shorts and skirts and wearing more makeup and long sleeves. When she ended up in a hospital a year later, she finally called it quits. The experience made her stronger, though she still shys away from people, not trusting them enough to let them in.
