Appearance (at least two descriptive paragraphs):
Josephine "Jo" LaRoche stands at five feet and seven inches tall with an athletic frame. She weighs in at about 120 pounds, with no natural emphasis on her bust, but her hips are wider and provide a nice place for her to perch her hands when she's standing still. She has taut muscles, kept lean by her habit of free running -- it was, in fact, this skill that kept her alive for the first month of, what she lovingly calls, The Zed Days. She has longer hair, a deep chestnut in color, that falls to the base of her shoulder blades. She often keeps it pulled up and entertains herself, when she's not doing anything else, by leaning her head back and forth and feeling the weight of her hair shift with her movements. Jo is French and Cherokee, lending her a mocha skin color and unique facial traits. She has high cheek bones and slightly tilted eyes, a hazel-green in color. She has full lips and a clear complexion, though she does have residual "wrinkles" from smiling and laughing so much.
Jo also has numerous tattoos and piercings. She has two sleeve tattoos, both done in a color just a shade lighter than her skin tone; they're mostly tribal looking, reflecting on her heritage. She also has another tattoo on her left shoulder blade, It is a date, 11.29.01, written in a basic font. She's never told anyone what this tattoo represents. She has two piercings on each ear, both on her lobes, and all four are plain studs. She also has her nose pierced, also with a plain stud, and find it entertaining to mess with it when her hair or standing around with her hands on her hips no longer captivate her attention. For clothing, she wears tight, grey jeans -- what most would refer to as skinny jeans -- secured with a studded belt. She is always wearing a tank top, usually a white "wife-beater" styled top, underneath the rest of her clothing -- in case she has to remove any clothes for any reason. Her shirt changes often, as she has no particular connection with any particular shirt, but she always keeps a thin hoodie that was a gift from her mother. Jo also wears a tight fitting, leather jacket -- it is relatively warm and she finds that it doesn't constrict her movements too much, but lends some protection from gnawing teeth. She dons her favorite pair of running shoes and an old pair of gloves with the fingers cut out.

Personality (at least two descriptive paragraphs):
Josephine is an odd, clashing combination of personality traits. She loves to have fun and is often found smiling, humming, and making up games to entertain herself and those around her. Jo can always find a reason to laugh, but her humor can be a bit dark at times. This often leads to saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and standing around awkwardly as her "audience" stares at her. Due to her awkwardness, Jo has developed a unique way to deal with intense or serious social situations -- smile, she just smiles. During serious conversation, Jo rarely speaks, unless she finds it absolutely necessary (like someone's life is in danger) or someone asks her opinion three times (she figures that if someone asks three times, they really want to know). Her ability to be absolutely strange often makes her better at dealing with children than with adults, which leads many to believe she is immature.
Despite what those around her think, however, Jo is relatively intelligent and has her priorities straight (she's made it at least a month, hasn't she?). She can be serious, but it takes a lot to bring that serious side out. As she has always said, "it's so much easier to just laugh about it". Jo is also fiercely loyal. She has a tendency to make friends quickly, even if the friendship is only one sided and will defend her friends at whatever the cost and, despite her love of laughter, her first line of defense is violence. She's not afraid to haul off and deck someone, regardless of their size (big or small) or gender. As for gender, Jo qualifies herself as "GenderFluid" and often takes on masculine qualities when she isn't busy laughing at something she finds "hilarious". A few days with Jo will let you know that she finds most things "hilarious" and uses the word quite often.

History (at least two descriptive paragraphs -- this can include childhood through 1 month after the infection):
If you asked her, Jo would inform you that she has a boring history and nothing notable ever happened to her, ever. When she's given a chance, however, Jo has numerous entertaining stories about her youth. Her mother was a truck driver and she never met her father -- you see, her mother and father met at a party one night, Jo was conceived, and then her mother discovered that she was a lesbian. Her mother left Josephine with her grandmother and moved to Arizona shortly after Jo turned two and was adopted by her grandmother. She often talked to her mother on the phone and visited when she was in the state on trips, but her grandmother and grandfather became her closest relatives. She had always been a troublemaker, often getting into fights at school because "the boys hurt my friend's feelings, he totally deserved getting kicked off the top of the jungle gym". Her other vice was fire closely followed by video games. She was often physically reprimanded by her grandmother, which has lead to her intense hatred of spatulas and slippers -- as those were often the tools of punishment used.
She eventually ended up moving in with a close friend and her family, often considered part of the brood, when her grandmother demanded that she change schools at fourteen years of age. She dropped out of high school, obtained her G.E.D. and began a cycle of short lived jobs in the food service industry. She had never been interested in becoming a waitress, but sub and pizza places were a large part of her repertoire. This is the reason for her abnormal knowledge of food service procedures and rules. She took up free running shortly after she began working at sixteen years of age. She took a few college courses, but never got around to finishing her degree. When the outbreak hit, she had just turned twenty-four. At first she had been relatively excited, considering her and her group of friends often hypothesized about the zombie apocalypse. Shortly after, however, she got her first taste of the reality of the situation and began to rely heavily on her free running skills to escape the hordes around her. She isn't proficient with any weapon, but she's fast and quiet.

- 2 silver and 2 black sharpies [Front pocket of her backpack]
- A pocket sized notebook [Front pocket of her backpack]
- iPod and Earbuds (3/4 charged) [Upper arm band holds iPod in place, she always has her earbuds strung through her shirt sleeve to keep it from becoming tangled, though they often dangle down the front of her shirt]
