He towers over most people, add that with his typical sullen expression and he looks pretty intimidating. Rick is not that big when it comes to muscular physique though. He definitely has muscles, but he has more of a lean build. The gunman isn't what one would consider as stunningly handsome, but he is good looking. He has noble features and sports some stubble. His coloring is fair and he keeps his blond hair slicked back. Rick has bluish greenish eyes that seem menacing at times.

Personality: Rick is more of the strong, but silent type. He doesn't like to waste words, so he doesn't speak a lot. As the oldest member of the Ward, he tends to be a bit bossy at times, but he makes up for it with his never ending patience. He stays calm through tense situations and people often to look to him for guidance because of this. Although he is not the official leader of the Ward, he tends to take on that role. He has the mentality of a soldier and doesn't let emotions get in the way of his work. While these traits are excellent for his job, they also cause him to be an asshole. Therefore, he has never had many friends or any successful relationships. Rick isn't a terrible guy though. He cares for his friends and families, he's just doesn't know how to show it.

Likes: Quiet atmospheres, guns, control, intelligent people.

Dislikes: Impulsive people, Small talk, emotional people

Strengths: Responsibility is something Rick understands well. He feels that it is his job to watch over those closest to him and feels responsible if something happens to them. This goes well with his leadership skills. The obvious strength of Rick's is his extensive knowledge of weaponry and guns. He also happens to be a very patient person which is a quality that most people don't have.

Weaknesses: While he makes an excellent leader, he doesn't know how to have normal conversations with people. He is all about work and nothing else. Along with his terrible social skills he is also not the most sympathetic person in the world. He lives by the motto suck it up and is not good at consoling people when they are upset. He also doesn't know how to handle women and ends up upsetting them more times than not. Rick is also awful at using electronics and building things.

Specialty Description: Rick has amazing aim and accuracy with weapons. Guns are his favorite choice of weapon though. He can use any kind of gun with ease and he never misses his target. It also helps that he is ambidextrous and can shoot two guns simultaneously. The speed at which he reloads bullets is also incredible.

Habits: He has a slight southern draw from being born and raised in Texas.

“We're here for a reason. I believe a bit of the reason is to throw little torches out to lead people through the dark.” ~ Whoopi Goldberg

History: Rick had a moderately normal childhood. He had two sisters he adored and both parents. He grew up in Houston, Texas and everybody knows that you can't live in Texas without having a gun. On his fifth birthday, he received his first gun. It was a BB gun of course, but a gun none the less. That was what started his love for guns. He loved to go hunting and shoot targets that his dad set up for him. By the time he was 13. he had a fine collection of real guns. Laser guns, rifles, pistols, you name it he had it. He also had a lot of other weaponry as well. However, his love turned into an obsession and it wasn't long before he wanted more. So he broke into a military base in Texas and stole a bag full of their weapons. He didn't make it far before he got caught as he isn't the most stealthy person in the world. Curious, the military officers didn't call the police and instead asked why he was taking the weapons. He explained and to prove it, he had to show them his skills. The officers were stunned at his expertise and decided to enroll him in the military. Rick was 19 when this happened and he stayed with the military for 10 years before he was put into the Ward. His time in the Ward was interesting to say the least, but he wasn't completely disappointed when the unit was shut down, though he would miss it somewhat. He decided to retire from the military completely after he left the Ward. He was 32 at the time and he realized he needed to put his gunman days behind him. So he put his guns on the shelves of his apartment where they stayed for 5 years. In the years between then and now, Rick got a job as the manager of an antique store. It was a mundane job, but it suited his calm demeanor. He never got married, but he had a few girlfriends. He visited his sisters and parents frequently and had what most would consider a happy life. What people didn't know was that Rick was itching to use his trigger finger. Now, he continues to pretend that he is happy while the guns on his walls constantly taunt him.

So begins...

Having just got back from his daily jog, Maverick went to take a shower and wash off the sweat from his body. Never one to waste time, He was in and out in five minutes.

After he had gotten dressed, he grabbed the bag of food that he had picked up on his way back to his apartment, and sat down on his couch. He ate in complete silence, the only sound that could be heard was the sound of him quietly chewing. Rick had a T.V. that he could have turned on, but he rarely used it. He found the noise to be distracting and had never been good at using technology anyways.

Most people had fancy high tech systems in their houses, but Rick’s apartment was about as old school as you could get during  this time. It wasn’t that he disliked technology, he simply didn’t understand it. His sisters always had to help with that kind of stuff and he felt awkward asking them for help.

There was only one thing in the world that made complete sense to Rick and that was guns. Sure he hadn’t used one in five years, but he knew that his time away from them wouldn’t hinder his skill.

After he finished his breakfast, he went to collect his mail. He didn't have much, mostly bills. He did however, receive a fancy looking envelope with an official seal on it. His brows drew together in confusion as he wondered why the government was contacting him

After he read the message about the Ward, his mind pondered over what this meant for him. He wouldn’t be leaving much behind. His job, which while he liked it, it wasn’t something that he cared too much about. As for his family, it wasn’t like he visited them daily anyways so him leaving for awhile wouldn’t really effect them that much.

The best part about being in the Ward again is that he would get to use his guns, which he missed dearly. He looked at the ones that hung on his wall now, admiring them. Walking up to his sniper he pulled it down from the wall, testing its weight by tossing it back in forth lightly in his hands. Pulling it over his shoulder, he looked through the scope, his finger already itching to pull the trigger.

That was all it took for Rick to know that he was ready to come out of retirement.
