Introduction
In Alaska, there is a fair share of supernatural beings. In Blackwood forest, their is a pack of lycans. Were-people. The pack has yet to find it's Alpha, but as for now, their alpha female, Selene, leads. Once she finds her mate, he will take his place as Alpha Male.
Many of the were-people have come, seeking home and acceptance in their brothers and sisters, and easily finding it. The pack runs as a family, nothing more, nothing less. They protect, defend, and accept the challenges faced. But, this pack contains the elite, and seek the elite.
There's only one thing we lycan must worry about. And that worry is Vampires. Vampires have been our enemy since the earliest times of our creation. Since we tend to find many...creatures lurking about our forest, we must take absolute precautions.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 4 authors
"Every instinct is telling me to check, Selene. I keep having this feeling that there is someone out there. I'm sorry, but I've got to check. If its nothing, you'll know." Paul walked out the door and tossed his clothes back inside, and began running, shifting to wolf form mid-stride. He cast his glance out into the forest as he trotted through searching for the source of the sound, scratching trees occasionally so he could find his way back. His ears heard soft breathing, that of someone trying to avoid detection. The sound of a waterfall echoed in the background and then the roar of vampires in a fury as one of them dropped dead from the arrow. Following the sound of the man breathing, he tried to track the man, coming across traces of the man's scent. He gave a quick howl like that of a wolf telling another wolf to come. The vampires might find them, but Selene, himself and this new wolf should be able to take them.
Selene watched him run out and stood still for a second. She watched him run deeper into the forest, trying to listen in on where he was headed. Once she heard the howl, she quickly untied her robe, already nude, and shifted to her wolf form in the cabin. She ruffled out her white fur, and howled in return, sprinting out of the cabin, and sniffing Paul's scent, tracking him and running along the trail. The wet ground slid under her as she ran, covering her paws in mud, moss, and grass. She howled once more and listened, hearing the same waterfall that Paul had just heard, and slowing her run into a trot, she came up to Paul's flank, nudging him with her nose.
Paul felt Selene nudge him, and glanced back at her. He knew she was concerned about him and he appreciated that. Paul nodded and trotted forward sniffing as the scent of the one who fired the arrow came into range. He began tracking it back to a tree. He growled quietly at the figure that was inside the tree, and carefully grabbed the man's clothing with his teeth and pulled slightly, hoping to get the man to move. He let go and nodded back the way he came. Paul trotted back to Selene and nods back toward the house, glancing back towards the archer. He rubbed his head against hers and starts back towards the house.

Selene stepped forward and eyed the shadowy figure with slight nervousness and anger. She didn't enjoy the fact that another person was intruding her territory. When Paul walked back up and rubbed his head against hers she licked his muzzle, then she turned and followed him. She trotted along a few pine trees, rubbing her tail against some to place her scent on the trees, guarding her territory. She shook some water out of her fur, and licked her own muzzle, and looked left and right to see if any more shadowy figures were hiding. She swayed her tail, and gently swatted Paul with it, running ahead of him onto the steps of the cabin.
When Selene raced ahead into the house, Paul picked up the pace and trotted in after her. He shifted back to his human form and picked his clothes off the floor, putting them on. "I'm sorry, Selene. I had to make sure it was at least someone who couldn't hurt us out there and not a vampire coven. A year on the move can leave one always watching his or her back and obviously that has happened to me. What do you think we should do about him?" Paul asked turning to face Selene, who he assumed might still be in her wolf form. He stops and walks towards the fireplace which is still warm. "Should we form a pack? Defend against vampires that may try to take our land? That man is also a werewolf, and he might be helpful if we form a pack. I wish I knew why vampires seem so interested in these woods, it might make the decision easier." He asked Selene as he stood at the fireplace.
Selene shifted in her bedroom, and grabbed a royal blue oversized t-shirt that barely fit her, hung loosely, and stopped at her mid thigh. She stepped out of the bedroom, and walked towards him. "Don't apologize. I can't blame you for instinct. As for him, I'm not sure what to do. I'd prefer to find out more about him, if he decides to speak. After all, all we know is that he is a werewolf aswell." She braided her waist-length hair as she spoke, loose strands falling out and sticking to her cheeks from the rain and its humidity. "For a pack, we need an Alpha first. Either you two will fight for it, or you just decide. As for the vampires, we must defend our land. I will NOT be overrun by leeches." She shuddered slightly, and pulled her shirt up slightly, her slightly tanned skin having a dewy glow to it in the light, and she scratched her upper thigh.
"That is one thing that I think any werewolf would agree on. Keep the leeches off of our land. I want to be here, so no matter what, I am going to stay." Paul said, turning to face Selene. "This feels so much like the home I wanted, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. However I can't decide for you about what to do with the other werewolf, this is still your land, you, technically, are still the Alpha." Paul added. He walked to the door which was propped open slightly and closed it. "I think that we should get some sleep, its getting late." He said, yawning slightly. His ears always shifted to a half-wolf form when he slept as a safety measure, and as he sat down on the couch, they gained a slight point. "Go on Selene, you should get some sleep."
"I'm glad you feel at home. But, I don't know how to decide who should be Alpha male. I cannot be Alpha forever, you know. Anyway, Are you sure? I was probably going to just sleep outside like I normally do. Just for safety measures.", Selene shrugged, covering her mouth as she yawned softly. She leaned against the doorway to her bedroom, watching as Paul got himself situated on her couch. "Do you want a blanket?", she bit her lip softly. She didn't really have visitors often, so this was new. She ran a hand through her hair and kept her eyes on him, then looked towards the window.
"Its been a while since I slept inside. I mean I only got to town today, and now I'm here." Paul sighed. "My ears are sharp, and I've gotten into the habit of shifting them to my wolf-form to keep ahead of danger. They've worked so far." He added, tapping his ears. "However, I won't sleep inside if you aren't. I mean, you have been kind to me, and you have been doing this for so long. It just feels wrong." Paul said, standing up. "I would assume that who ever would become Alpha would be whoever you choose." Paul said, swallowing nervously. "Don't try to talk me out of sleeping outside with you. It won't work."
Selene sighed softly. "I don't want to make you go outside in the rain, so I'll sleep inside. I'd feel bad if I made you freeze outside with me." She turned around and walked to a closet, that held sheets, blankets, and towels, and grabbed a large quilt. She turned back around, looking down at the ground slightly, and walked towards the couch, accidentally walking into him. "Oh, sorry Paul." She walked around him and placed the blanket down over the couch, and listened to him. "If anyone would be Alpha it would be you. I thought you knew that." She tucked her blonde hair behind her ear, and looked stood up straight, looking at him.
"Selene, I've been outside through winter. I'd be fine outside." Paul said, moments before Selene bumped into him. "Don't worry about it, Selene." Paul smiled, stepping aside. "I never even had thought about being an Alpha before. I never had a reason to, honestly. I had no idea whether or not I would be capable of it." Paul said, rubbing the back of his neck. He noticed Selene looking at him, and he smiled. "I guess it partially comes down to instinct, and if mine stays as good as it has, I'll be fine." He grinned. "Thank you, Selene." He added, walking to her, and giving her a quick hug. "I am so glad that I found someone else like me, a werewolf that is." He let her go, blushing slightly as he sat down on the couch. "I'm glad that I met you."
"Come on, we might as well stay inside." She looked out the window for a moment, then looked back at Paul. Shre smiled at his comment, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and biting her lip before speaking. "I'm glad I met you too." She walked over to him, and sat beside him on the couch, leaning her head on her hand and relaxing. "You would make a great Alpha, though. I swear.", she smiled. She reached her free hand out, and touched his hand gently, looking at him with a soft smile, and a curious look in her eyes. She sat on her calves, her loose shirt resting loosely around her body even more so as she sat beside him. "Are you tired?"
Paul watched as Selene sat down next to him. "I guess you're right, I probably would be a good Alpha if I had to be one." He sat there thinking until Selene set her hand on his. Instinctively he turned his hand over and held hers lightly, as if she was someone or something precious. He blushed softly and smiled as he looked into Selene's eyes. Then his eyes started to slide down her body, then he looked away, being raised to think it as being disrespectful. She asked him if he was tired. He smiled and sighed. "I am not tired yet, but eventually. I am getting tired. How about you, are you tired?" Paul grinned, looking into her eyes agin.
In the dark forest a nimble wolf stalked her prey. It was a small mouse but prey nonetheless. Suddenly she sprang forward, a welcomed flash of fire in the freezing night. Her mouth waters at the delivious kill and she settles down to eat it.
With a full belly she sets off again and soon realizes she is on another wolf's territory. Despite this the haughty she-wolf raises her head higher and picks up her stride. Challenges were one thing she loved, yes, they kept her in mint confition mentally and physically. Shr began planning her strategies in her head, several brilliant ones already forming.
But then she realised it wasn't a fixture she wanted, it was information about what was going on. About some things she needed confirmed. Sending up a howl was tempting but she shook her head and just kept walking, taking no care to conceal herself.

Selene reached up with her free hand, and smoothed his hair. Her hand slid down his cheek gently, softly rubbing it with her thumb. She smiled at him, and answered. "I am only slightly tired. I don't sleep much in wolf form. Too many noises.", she laughed. In the midst of her happiness, she sat up sharply, and quickly, growling at the sound of a howl. "Are you kidding me?", she stood up and pulled her hand away from Paul's and walking towards the door. Her eyes narrowed, and changed into her wolf form's. Selene walked to the door, opening it wide, and letting out a loud, throaty growl, the hair's on the back of her neck standing on edge. She sniffed at the air, her nose changing slightly. "Mmm...", she said with an evil grin. "Another female." She became even angrier now. Selene wasn't very fond of females, especially ones that were also wolves. But, she sniffed again, catching another scent from the female. She wasn't just a wolf, no, not a pure one anyway. A shape-shifter. Cocky bastards., she thought to herself.
The other wolf had caught the she-wolf's scent and a sense of satisfaction came when she heard the growl. The roan wolf let out the howl she had been dying to let out and decided to play a game with the other wolf, she turned into a falcon and flew to the other side og the forest. Turning back to a wolf she let out a howl. Repeating this process several times she finally stood in the trees behind the white wolf and turned into s girl. She looked around seventeen with brownish-reddish hair that's messily tossed to one side. Her lips are a glosdy red and she had a devious glare. "How sweet, you have a little boyfriend, a good one too."
"Selene! Behind you!" Paul yelled. He had followed her, thinking he was staying far enough behind to avoid detection by whatever it was that had Selene on edge. He began to run, closing the distance between himself and the threat to Selene. It began mid-stride once more, he transformation into a wolf rippled from the tips of the fingers on his right hand. More than half way to the threat, down to his waist is fully wolf-like. He sprung to the right, and then lunged toward the shape-shifter, this way he would avoid smacking into Selene. He heard what the shape-shifter had said, and it was highly irratating.
As he completed his transformation, he utter a defensive, almost territorial, growl, a warning that he would kill to protect himself and Selene. The threat was in a human form, but a threat none the less. His body pulsed with adrenaline, and knew that if he let Selene be harmed or, god forbid, killed, he would never forgive himself. He would first kill the shape-shifter in vengeance.
As he completed his transformation, he utter a defensive, almost territorial, growl, a warning that he would kill to protect himself and Selene. The threat was in a human form, but a threat none the less. His body pulsed with adrenaline, and knew that if he let Selene be harmed or, god forbid, killed, he would never forgive himself. He would first kill the shape-shifter in vengeance.
The shape-shifter's laugh filled the air and mixed with the growls of the wolves. "Aw, how cute. The wittle bitty Alpha female can't fight her own battles...." She let out another laugh and watched the neck fur bristle to amazing height.
"So what are you going to do? Kill me? Ha, I'd like to see you try. And if you did, that would be dishonorable." the bold she-wolf walked up to the other wolves and patted the female on the head childishly and tauntingly. The female tried to bite her but her jaws went through the she-wolf The female tried again and again but it didn't work. A smile crept onto the face of the she-wolf, more of a smirk actually. "I never said I was in human form, now, do you wanna battle because if the answer is yes than I'll turn to a wolf."
Paul glared as the shapeshifter patted Selene on her head, and growled at the woman shapeshifter as he walked to Selene's side. His nails dug into the ground and he became immersed in the mentality of the wolf, and gave another warning growl. He wasn't going to let this thing harm Selene. He embraced not just the wolf, but a new nature. 'I never want to be with anyone else, I won't let anyone harm her. I will protect this land, our land. Selene said she would choose me as an alpha, I have every right!' Paul yelled in his head. He embraced the strength of an alpha, and could feel it in every muscle. He stood tall and glared right into the shapeshifter's eyes. He would not back down, not so long as there was a threat. He was making the challenge to this arrogant being who, in his opinion was no better than the vampires in their camp by the waterfall. Either the shapeshifter would back down, or she would die.
"If you want me gone I can fight you guys, but should I know any rules? Call me Sirona." Sirona stepped back and turned into the fiery wolf. "Don't worry, I don't have fire...sadly." the bitter wind seemed to avoid her though so Sirona didn't know if she was lying. "If you prefer to go away unharmed I can offer you a challenge,"
Paul growls in fury, this thing was telling the two of them to leave when he and Selene already had a claim to the land. He knew that this would end in bloodshed, and he would not be the one to die. The fires of hell itself are burning in the furious glare Paul was giving the intruder, and nothing short of its submission would calm the anger he currently felt. His muscles tensed preparing to attack the shapeshifter, while simultaneously being on the defensive, watching for its first move against him or Selene. When it shifted to its wolf form, that was the opportunity for him to strike. He lunged at the shapeshifter and clawed its face, then leapt back, snarling at the intruder as if challenging her to try to stake a claim in the land that Paul and Selene claimed as a pack.
"Ok, I'm guessing no rules then?" Sirona said maliciously. She turned into a falcon and struck at Paul, clawing his face. As her claws met she could feel his anger and wanted to laugh, had she been in human form. Then she perched on a tree directly above their heads.
Paul's jaw snapped shut when the shapeshifter clawed at him in her falcon form, and as she retreated he spit out a mouthful of feathers. He snorted out a sound that resembled a chuckle. Arrogance shall be her downfall if she doesn't be careful. He felt where the claws cut near his right ear, however it was a glancing blow compared to prior injures he had recieved. This wound would not stop him, not by a long shot, nor did the fact that the shapeshifter flee to a tree discourage him. In fact, it seemed to be a cowardly act, flying to a place that he could not reach, so as far as he was concerned he won.
Paul snorted and trotted back to Selene and then glared at the shapeshifter sitting in the tree, and snorted. At least when he ran from the vampires earlier he was getting out of the town and was going to to fight the vampires when he turned into a wolf. The shapeshifter was cowardly by flying to a branch far above them. He began to shift back to his human form and snorted again, scratching Selene behind her ears. "Come on, Selene, this one is not even worth our time. Besides there are bigger concerns to deal with. When dealing with the other werewolf today, I thought I smelled some vampires by the waterfall, not enough to be able to defeat us, not yet. Let's get sleep and deal with them in the morning, before they try to call reinforcements."

Sirona cocked her head in a circle at the wolves. Yes, her plan had work and they were leaving, but they didn't know that was dangerous to do. She turned into a tiger where she leaped from the tree and padded away, tail head high. "Just keep your noses sharp, things are about to happen here." Paul could fling himself at her now, or he could leave. If he did attack her Sirona could swat him away with one paw. "Very."
Paul was irritated by the shape-shifter, but he had more important things to worry about, such as the vampire camp at the base of the waterfall. They may not be a large enough army to defeat himself and Selene, but soon maybe. Reaching down to Selene, he scratched behind her ear. "Come on, Selene, lets get some rest. We will need some to deal with the vampires before they get numbers on their sides. Selene, they are weak enough that we can rest tonight, but tomorrow, we are going to need that archer, and possibly the shape-shifter. We need her alive for now. You know, just in case. We do have a war to fight, against those leeches." Paul pauses, and then whispers, "Are you going to come with me and get some sleep, or am I going to have to drag you with me?" When would there be a time where he would not have to worry about leeches. That has always been what had kept him moving since he left his home town. His girlfriend didn't break up with him, she was killed by them. His brother no longer was afraid because he was dead. His mother and father were lucky to escape, and he was the reason, because he was a wolf. He lied to Selene about parts of his past, parts which made it easier to understand what she went through. But the fact that he was a wolf was why he was forced to run, why innocent people were killed. "Let's go Selene."
