Full Name: Julian Carter Owens.
Nickname: Jules or Lian, for close friends and/or relatives. Otherwise, he prefers to simply be called Julian.
Age: 21 Years Old.
Birthdate: March 11.
Power: Telepathy.
>> I can send specific thoughts or images to other people by simply concentrating on both the information and the recipient. If you ask me, it's a lot easier than talking, or having to write it down. It's really all in the mind.
>> A lot of people mistake telepathy for mind-reading. Actually, the two are very different: Telepathy involves sending information from one person to another, while mind-reading involves actively reading someone's mind - hence the name. (Julian hates it when people get the two mixed-up.)
{Distance} - Julian can only send thoughts to people standing within the range of his vision. Farther communications may go through, yet they often result in a pounding headache afterwards.
>> It only works if we're standing close enough so that I can hear you if you shout; otherwise, it'll be a little difficult.
{Quantity} - Think of Julian as the network between two email users. Sending large files will be inevitably slower, and in Julian's case, a little more tiring.
>> Only a little at a time, please.
{Energy} - Transmitting messages telepathically uses quite a bit of energy. Therefore, Julian needs to be well-rested before he can send anything.
>> Believe me - it's not as easy as it looks!
Sexual Orientation: Straight.
Apartment Number: 2C.
Occupation: Part-time employee at the Mighty Bean.
>> I work morning shifts at the Mighty Bean Cafe. Sure, it's not the best job in the world, but it pays well, and the folks there are pretty friendly. I'm looking to become a writer when I get older though, but I'm not sure how well that will work out.

Strengths:
{Optimism} - I guess you could say that I like to look at things with an open mind, and from many different perspectives. It might just be a writer thing, but it's helpful when things don't go exactly as planned.
{Literature} - Of course. What else would you expect out of an aspiring author?
{Creativity} - There aren't any limits to what you can do with a typewriter and a sheet of paper.

Weaknesses:
{Social Situations} - Noisy and crowded parties aren't exactly my strong suit. It's not that I don't like hanging out with my friends; I just appreciate a little quiet every now and then. Besides, I become a nervous wreck around girls!
{Violence} - My fitness is something that I'm proud of, but I don't like using it for fighting or anything else like that. I'm not a huge fan of blood either, to be honest.

Likes:
+ Spending time with friends and family. So what if I'm a family guy?
+ Independence and freedom.
+ Easygoing people. And generally people who share something in common with me. It makes for an easier conversation.
+ Photography.
+ Writing. This should come as no surprise. :)
+ Small things in life. After all, they're really what matters in the end.
Dislikes:
- Too much control; spending too much time in one place or doing one thing.
- Closed, indoor spaces. I have mild claustrophobia.
- People who are loud or overly enthusiastic; arrogant or rude people.
- Large or noisy crowds. Again with the claustrophobia.
- Insects and reptiles. For me, they're nice to look at from behind a glass pane, but not so much in person.
Image
Fears:
+ Tight spaces.
+ Losing his friends and family. I couldn't imagine life without them.
+ Being alone, especially in darkness.
Dreams:
- To become an author. At the moment, I'd give the world to become one.
- To be able to buy a house of his own and live out the life of his dreams.
- To publish a best-selling novel.
Secrets:
+ Julian's parents divorced when he was seven years old. Though he hasn't really talked about them much to anyone, the separation impacted the rest of his childhood and continued into adulthood. He's always been hesitant to love or have feelings for anyone, for fear that he'll have his heart broken as well.
+ Despite putting on a smile for each and every one of his friends, Julian struggles a little with depression. He's always been sensitive to other people's emotions, and often takes theirs as his own. It's gotten better with time, though Julian still relapses back every now and then.

Personality: Julian is a laid-back, friendly person with a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He is extremely likeable and friendly, always with a warm smile on his face and a kind word or two. His nature is to savor things as they come, and not to spend time trying to find love or get ahead in a career. Instead, Julian simply enjoys life's every twist and turn, while he just goes along for the ride.
{Intelligent} ~ Julian is remarkably smart and witty, best described as a quick thinker and a rapid problem-solver. Few questions in the world can have him stumped for long, and he isn't afraid to give new things a try - even if they result in a scratch or two.
{Extroverted} ~ Julian is on the more extroverted side of the social spectrum, always ready with a laugh or a grin for his friends. Because of his easygoing nature, he fits well in nearly all groups and situations, and it isn't hard for him to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. Julian is quite sensitive to other people's emotions and understands when they want a little quiet and space. Still, when they're ready to have a great time, he'll definitely be there.

History: Julian's childhood was like many others: He was born to Ron and Kate Owens as the oldest of three children, and raised in a happy and content family. However, the happiness was not to last, for his parents - after many years of fighting - divorced when he was just seven years old. On one blustery Sunday morning, his mother packed her bags, and she left him and his two sisters in the care of their father.
When Julian turned ten, he discovered his innate ability to pass messages telepathically. He kept this information secret from those not part of his immediate family - following his father's advice - and so grew up uncertain about the true extents of his power. Meanwhile, his interest in writing grew, ultimately fostering his dream to become an author as an adult. He graduated with a Master's Degree in writing, yet was unable to pursue his career directly after leaving college. Thus, he took up a temporary job and residence around the Mighty Bean, where's he's worked and lived up until now.

Theme Song: None for now. :)

So begins...

β€œNo, sir. We do not serve...radish pancakes. This is a coffee shop. We serve various coffees, lattes, sandwiches, soups, smoothies, and baked delicacies. We do not serve pancakes. We don't have soda. We don't have beans to go with your toast. And we do not serve fish or sub sandwiches.”

At a coffeehouse called β€œThe Mighty Bean” a young woman tucked a loose blonde curl behind her left ear with a sigh as she was forced to handle her rather difficult landlord who she knew was simply there to make her morning miserable – He had already chased off the new waitress after the last one quit because of his obnoxious behavior. A sigh escaped her as she placed her hands on her hips, popping her left one up as she tapped her foot impatiently. He really had been pushing her buttons for the past ten minutes with moronic banter. β€œAre you getting huffy with me?” His English accent taunted her as he rested his elbows on the table and his chin on the tops of his hands. His green eyes gleamed with mischief, ignoring the dark clouds forming outside. He seemed to know exactly how to get under her skin and took much delight in doing so. He gave a shrug and sighed himself before standing up and sliding out of his booth. β€œAnd here I thought you southern belles were supposed to be sweet and in possession of etiquette and self-control. I'll be back later, redneck. Hopefully you'll be much calmer at that point. Ta.” He was soon gone, having successfully pissed her off with his mocking faux southern accent.

The bell rang as the door was opened upon his exit and she let out a soft yet feral growl that preceded a clap of thunder from outside. Her ponytail twirled as she did, just barely dragging against the floor as she stomped off and headed towards the back door, throwing her apron into a chair. It was early in the morning and there probably wouldn't be any other customers for about another half hour. As she closed the door behind her, she took a seat in her usual chair in the back alley, leaning almost all the way back. Why did he always have to hassle her instead of someone else? She was always nice to him and made sure her and Hudson's rent had been paid in advance so she didn't have to risk being late. He was beyond infuriating and she couldn't count on both hands and feet how many times she wanted to punch him in his manhood just to see him double over in pain. But. She had left that violent life behind her and had sworn to herself that she was going to turn a new leaf after enrolling at Maldoy. She had done a mostly good job so far and built an excellent reputation as an absolute peach.

Hey Juju – Its rent week and the chihuahua is on the rampage. I can spit in his food if he hassles you. Or heat up his spoon. See ya in a few – Meet in the alley?

Her fingers flew across the screen of her new phone, an early birthday gift from Hudson. Evangeline was really quite graceful but she had the worst of luck when it came to cellphones. Beezel at her last one and apparently her insurance didn't cover that. With the money she was making and her lack of scholarship, she couldn't afford a more durable one. But Hudson surprised her with a new HTC One. And that's why Hud was her best friend. She smiled as she traced her fingers over the screen before shooting out yet another text. Wake up, bum! Weekend plans must be made. Alleyway! She slipped her phone back into the back pocket of her denim daisy dukes. There was a summer heat wave with a high of 102 and Cajun was in no mood for the usual jeans she wore to work. Denim daisy dukes, a graphic tee sporting a faerie scenery and some running shoes worked. She was lucky that Gordon was so lax about the uniform. She honestly felt really at home in the kitchen as she baked the pastries for the customers. Another sigh escaped her as she wiped her brow, raindrops pelting her face gently. Oh. She was mad earlier, wasn't she? She closed her eyes and exhaled slowly, gathering control over her emotions, the clouds dissipating and the wave of heat returning, replacing the raindrops on her brow with beads of sweat.
