Introduction
The Setting
Located on the northeast coast of Massachusetts resides an infamous town that has been a part of our United States history for as long as we can remember. In January of 1692, the daughter and niece of Reverend Samuel Parris of Salem Village became ill. The village doctor was called in when their health had failed to improve. The doctor diagnosed both girls with bewitchment, which was the start of the Salem Witch Trials that occurred during that year. By May of 1693, thirteen people suffered deaths by hanging, six people died in jail, and one person died from being crushed to death due to the witchcraft hysteria that threatened their Christianity.
Recovering from the shame of this horrific time, by the mid-1700s Salem became an area focused on the fishing industry. By 1836, Salem became its own city and in 1914 the city suffered from a fire in June. Although few died during the great fire, roughly 20,000 people lost their homes, and roughly 10,000 people lost their jobs. Few places in the City of Salem survived the fire, however, the city recovered. Today, Salem, Massachusetts has become a largely populated area for tourism. In the fall and close to Halloween, the city experiences large sums of visitors who are interested in Salem's horrific history. However, the remainder of the year the city functions like any other; there are fewer visitors in comparison to the fall, but the city and its history remains along with its inhabitants.
1920
She spent the highlights of her life in the 1920s. Living life to its fullest and enjoying the little things that came along with the benefits of the roaring twenties. Growing up in Salem, MA was an adventure in itself. The city was not far from Boston, which resulted in casual trips to the city when the smaller one wasn't enough; or when the tourists were too much. It was there, in the 1920s that her life not only reached its peak, yet it also abruptly ended. However, it didn't stop there.
1988
Ever since he could remember, every person he has ever laid eyes on has had a number printed on their forehead. Like a tattoo, in thick black ink. Crystal clear to read, and big enough that it is unbearably obvious and unavoidable. These six-digit numbers on their foreheads have been something that he hasn't fully understood for the majority of his life. When he was young, they didn't mean much to him, he simply assumed that it was part of the appearance of people.
2008
It was in early 2008 that he finally realized what the numbers on their foreheads meant. By May, he was twenty years old at the time where he learned just what the numbers meant the hard way. His father was the first to go on 051908. It was then that he realized the numbers were associated with the dates of their deaths. The numbers were the day that they were destined to die. And it was completely out of his control. Six months later, his mother went just as her date said. 112208. He had tried to stop her, but it almost seemed as though he fueled her death. Because of their deaths, he tried to reach out to others, to understand why he saw the numbers. Only to learn that he was the only one who saw them. As people grew suspicious, he began to deny knowledge of the numbers or that they even existed.
2015
Unable to cope with what life had, unfortunately, 'gifted' him, he decided that moving into hiding was his best option. Living in Boston, Massachusetts wasn't the ideal location for someone like him to spend every day. It was a constant reminder when he set foot outside and saw all of the numbers. He moved to Salem, MA in early 2015 in hopes to keep himself away from so many numbers, but still live a somewhat ordinary life.
Unknowingly dead, she still lives her daily life in Salem, MA. Going about her usual routines, interacting with the locals, and continuing like nothing had ever happened. Only puzzled by recurring nightmares of her death, she has not made the connection as to why the dream persists, or its significance. Her world continues to appear like it had in the 1920s, however, those that she interacts with are from 2015, but under the mask that they appear from her time.
The Everchanging
The folds of time are bent and contorted, changing ever so constantly. The ability to control and use time to the advantage of one is possible in such a weak state but requires the knowledge to do so. Time stamps are visible only to those that have the potential to control and use time to their advantage, but an outside force yearns to keep the travelers from knowing of their ability. In addition, to keep the travelers from knowing that they are not alone.

Collectibles

Give your Universe life by adding a Mob, which are auto-replenishing NPCs your players can interact with. Useful for some quick hack-and-slash fun!
Mobs can be automated spawns, like rats and bats, or full-on NPCs complete with conversation menus. Use them to enhance your player experience!
