Ranon walked through the woods practicing making a steady flame in his hand and then quashing it, βIf I am to have and use this power I should understand it fully.β Ranon said to himself as he watched his flames Athen was a half day journey at full gallop by horse. On foot at this pace Ranon expected to be there within 2 days at the most. In that time he was sure he would run into the wagon headed to his beautiful Fernon, and he would burn it to the ground, No human or creature from that carriage would survive long enough to matter. Ranon would leave the pile of ash on the side of the road and let passing travelers wonder what could have possibly done such a thing.
As Ranon walked he saw a fallen tree in the road, No one else was around being blocked by this inconvenience meaning it had ether happened during the night or people had spent hours getting their horses and wagons over the tree. More than likely it was the first option. Ranon looked at his hand then the tree. Ranon smiled and said βWhat better way to see what I am truly capable of?β Ranon pulled his arms back with his hands closed into fists so that they where right next to his stomach He focused all the anger he had been preparing for the creature who was on its way to Fernon into his hands and with a shout he thrust his arms forward opening his palms and released a spout of flames from his hands. After just a few Moments the fallen dead tree was nothing but ash and cinders. Ranon closed his hands and stopped the flames there were still a few flames yet to have gone out on small pieces of wood. While Ranon had no love for the things living in the forest he knew that it was a needed source of wood and food, So Ranon decided to test something else. βI can create fire. But can I control fire that is not touching me?β Ranon whispered to himself. He reached out his open palm toward one of the flames and quickly clenched his fist. The fire responded and disappeared as if quenched by a bucket of water. After he had taken care of the remaining flames in the same way Ranon continued toward Athen with a new vigor and excitement. Nothing could stand in his way. And he would see to it that these traders never saw his city.
