"Hey! I helped pick those curtains, ass." he exclaimed interrupting his song as he would continue to hum the song an look towards Jay. Odd enough, Jay looked different to him now. Before he was Jay the pompous ass, and before that he was JJ the best friend and secret keeper. But now? Gabriel couldn't really tell you who Jay was to him. He knew he was his best friend again, and he hoped it wouldn't end. Turning on the stove he would set a pan down and place a small pat of butter on the atrociously neon orange pan. "It's nice to see you haven't lost your musical side," as he said that Gabriel would tilt his head. He would laugh nervously.
Before beginning to speak he would ladle a spoonful of pancakes into the pan and watch it sizzle. "To be honest, after you and I stopped being friends. I briefly thought about giving it up. I didn't have my best friend, and you know Dad never really liked it. So, I sort of stopped for a month, but Mikey got upset and mom missed hearing my voice around the house. So I picked it back up, because of a picture. The final one we had taken before the summer of seventh grade. It sort of inspired me, that I always had that version of you, even if you hated me for who I was."he spoke with a soft smile, that sounded a lot less gay in his head. Oh well. His face was slowly turning red as he would flip the pancake, seeing it is a nice golden brown. He never really knew why, but that picture always helped him get past hard times. He only kept it face down once, and that was the day that Jay became a dick.
