Carmindy

Fletcher

Gender:
Female

Age:
22

Nationality:
American/Caucasian
Image
Appearance:
Carmindy is an attractive young woman with soft features and a gentle smile. Her complexion and features also point to her mothers native american background, giving her an almost exotic look. Long dark brown hair, and deep chocolate brown eyes add to this. Her personality also shows through in her sense of style, a jeans and t-shirt type of person that really doesn't bother with makeup or anything else. Always wears a buck skin medicine bag around her neck, given to her my her grandmother after the death of her mother. The bag contains herbs and stones for protection.

Psychological Profile:
Carmindy by all accounts to most seems normal for the most part. She does however have bouts of depressions especially around the anniversary of her mother's death. Her mother died of mysterious circumstances when she was 12 years old. Living with her father after that was hard he always seemed cold towards her. He always seemed so distant and she spent allot of her time living with her maternal grandmother on the reservation her mother grew up on. But there is something that bothers her the most about herself that has always made her think she's a little crazy is the fact that she can talk to and see people who have passed on. Her grandmother told her that she was special that it was a blessing from heaven but Carmindy isn't so sure about that.

Personality:
Carmindy is an easy going laid back person many have said that hardly anything bother's her. She however thinks differently and the things she sees and hears often times makes her feel uncomfortable around other people. Carmindy cares deeply for anyone she calls friend or family, she has a deep respect for the dead and her ancestors. Even though her abilities at times frighten her she does her best to listen to them and try to communicate to them that they have died and need to move on. She has never come across an evil spirit even though grandmother has warned her that it will happen and that she needs to protect herself.

Brief History:
Carmindy to parents who seemed to love each other in public but it always was different at home behind closed doors. She has many memories of her parents fighting her father getting very angry and breaking things, but she was never a close witness to these things. It was either done out of her sight, or when she was not around. She always felt deeply cared for by her mother, and her father always seemed distant. When Carmindy was twelve she was told by her father that her mother had left out one day. Three days later police found her mother's body washed ashore on a riverbank. There was no explanation and after that her father was even more cold and distant to her. Deciding to send her into the care of her maternal grandmother. This was also around the time she started to see and hear things, it all came to a head when she told her grandmother she had spent the night speaking with her grandfather who had died two years before her birth.

Her grandmother told her that it was a special gift that was given to some in the tribe and that she should be thankful to have the opportunity to speak with her ancestors. But Carmindy wanted nothing more then to be normal, she tried keeping her gift a secret from her friends at school but its hard to do that when you see the spirits of old warriors that died in wars past, wandering the school grounds. Or spending the night at a friends house and their great grandmother who died long before the birth of you friend complains to her about their disrespectful behavior. She never really kept friends long and this followed her into adulthood when she took over caring for her grandmother in her last days of life. A week after the death of her grandmother Carmindy laid down one night crying herself to sleep feeling alone and lost and woke up in a daze. She had no clue where she was only that she heard the sounds of ragtime music, standing in front of an old abandoned amusement park.

So begins...

She rolled over finding the room unusually cold, she went to grab for the blanket on her bed to snuggle in more and found no blanket. Her eyes slowly started to open and it was like her head was in a fog, like it was taking everything in her power to wake up. Carmindy was not sure what was going on but she was beginning to think that maybe she was having a nightmare. She tired sitting up but her head immediately started feeling swimmy so she laid back down on what at first should have been her bed in her house. But she soon realized that she wasn't, and then the sound of old music started to play.

Carmindy finally managed to sit up, her eyes focusing indeed she wasn't in her bed but a boat shaped like two swans kissing one another. She was so dazed and confused she didn't really know what to think of this, the boat was sitting in a narrow shallow stream of water.

"The tunnel of love?" she mumbled aloud quietly even at this quiet tone her voice reverberated and echoed around the room and intermingled with the sounds of the old music playing. Making the scary situation even more creepy.

The last thing she remembered was laying down in her bed at home crying and now she was in an amusement park ride. She was even more confused now then when she first woke up. Thinking maybe she was just in a very vivid dream she pinched the skin on the top of her forearm.

A sharp pain shot up from the spot, "Ouch!" she said, "Well... I guess I am awake" she looked around again.

It was frustrating not remembering what had happened or how she ended up here, but she supposed there was no reason to stay here, the cold still clinging to her bones. She clutched the medicine bag around her neck, it had been her mother's before she passed away and her grandmother had a blessing put on it by the village shaman. Something didn't feel right, it was a feeling that Carmindy had felt many times before she would see or hear something she didn't want to.

She stepped out of the small boat onto the wooden dock in front of her, her legs almost buckling on her. She caught herself just before falling flat faced onto the dock. Carmindy sat there kneeling for a moment trying to regain movement in her legs, she then stood and began to make her way out of the dark dank tunnel.

When she stepped out of the ride she was even more lost the what she had been inside the tunnel. Looking around she was positive she was in some sort of amusement park or carnival. But there were no places like this around the reservation and the carnival only came at certain times of the year. The cold mist that seemed to hover all over the park clung to her body and clothes only making her feel colder and more uneasy. Wrapping her arms around her Carmindy decided that it was no time like the present to either find someone else or find a way out.

She was beginning to grow very weary of the situation, it all seemed like everything looked the same no matter which way she went or turned. She didn't know whether she was wandering around in circles cause of the misty fog, that loomed all over the amusement park or whether it was her sense of direction. The fact that she kept seeing things moving and the feeling that she was being followed or watched also with the sounds of the music echoing around made it even harder to keep up with where she was going. Not that seeing and feeling things was new for Carmindy. That's something she had dealt with a big part of her life, but it seemed like this amusement park was a hot bed for spirits. What Carmindy wasn't sure of is whether were good or evil, this bothered her she hoped the contents of her medicine bag would keep anything evil away. But in a place like this it might be harder especially if there is allot of spirits at once. She clutched the bag that had hung around her neck for years, still chilled by the fog that surrounded the area.

"I just need to keep my head on straight and I should find a way out." the whole place seemed to be abandoned.

She tried to go a different way this time, hoping to find an exit or at least another person. She noticed a small clearing in the misty fog and saw what looked like a different ride.

"Is that... a Ferris wheel?" she asked herself not having anyone to talk to was making her a little uneasy. "Well it's better than nothing and I hopefully wont end up end up in front of the tunnels again", she rubbed her arms up and down trying to take some of the chill away. She began to walk towards the Ferris wheel hoping to find someone or something.
