History
Mike used to be 100% human until the military got a hold of him. He signed up for a voluntary military experiment when he was 18 for some extra cash and they began replacing parts of him with enhancements. It didn't bother him much because as they showed it didn't change his outer appearance any and he really had nothing to loose in the first place.
However he was told to keep it a secret as much as possible since it was an undercover project and the military didn't want it becoming public knowledge that they were producing super soldiers so he keeps it pretty much under wraps even around his squad mates.
