Introduction
Four boys have known each other for about a year now, although the only contact they’ve ever had has been through a chat-room. That’s not to mean they’re strangers to each other. Once a friendship had been established, they began to use video chat. They’re friendship is as real as any other (more so than some). Recently, they all started high-school, and moved to a dorm building to do so. It wasn’t until after they had been accepted that they realised they were all going to the same school.
They are really quite different from each other, but they all have something in common. They all have a different incomplete charm, that has been given to them be a relative. Two have necklaces, with the charm as a pendent; the other two have bracelets with the charm on them.

Four girls have known each other for about a year now, although they don’t remember much from before that year began. Their memory begins with them waking up in a rather creepy dorm building. They quickly found that they could move through most solid objects, and were slightly…opaque, shall we say. They also found that they couldn’t leave the dorm building. In fact, the only thing they couldn’t go through at will is the outer walls, roof and ground. They were bound to the building.
They are really quite different from each other, but they all have something in common. They all have a different incomplete charm, that has been given to them be a relative. Two have necklaces, with the charm as a pendent; the other two have bracelets with the charm on them.
The story begins with the boys moving into the dorm. It’s been recently renovated, to allow students to move in again. There had been a fire about 13 months before this story, which rendered the building uninhabitable to anyone with a pulse. Most of the inside had been completely destroyed, but weirdly, the outer structure had been almost untouched. The cause of the fire was never discovered.
The building is two stories high. There is a lounge, kitchen, etc. on the ground floor. The rooms are on the second floor. There are 4 rooms, fairly large in size. There are so few rooms because the school wanted to make sure the building was secure, before they allowed a larger amount of students to move in. Extra floors are planned for construction if the building proves to be a worthwhile investment (the ‘guinea pig’ element was told in vague detail to the boys, who have to keep a weekly record of any disturbances or dangers. In return, their tuition is free, and they are allowed partial access to school facilities after hours.) All of the boys were also given various lessons on what to do in the case of various emergencies, such as first aid and even cases where self-defence would be required (much to their confusion).
They all shared one thought in particular, and that is that the principal was all too eager to ensure their attendance at her school, and particularly determined to get them to stay in that dorm…
The girls became very habitual, particularly when it came to which room the ‘slept’ in (after the renovations had reached that point). Because of their inability to leave, they have developed a patient attitude, and don’t bore as quick as they used to (some adjusted better than others). Their favourite (and only) hobby would be ‘people-watching’, which has improved their memory a lot (again, some more than others). They can change clothes, if they so wish, but don’t really bother for the most part, because they can only be seen by each other. When they do it’s usually out of boredom. They can change into anything that has been committed to memory, but their choices are quite limited due to their entrapment. They can interact with small electrical equipment, such as radios or lights (but not the TV, because it requires too great an electric field). Because of the music and light that can occasionally be heard and seen, despite the building being ‘empty’, rumours quickly spread about the building being haunted, which has led to the suspension of a few students that had went in for a dare.

"Are you sure? Really, really sure that you want to go? You'll be okay, right?", his mother asked him, for the millionth time in the past hour, adjusting his scarf. He shivered, the movement of the thick fabric had allowed a bit of air into his neck, and that air was cold. Then again, he was always cold anyway, even in summer, hence the scarf. His mother, unfortunatly saw the shiver and started her fussing again, tightening the scarf and fiddling with the zip on his jacket, trying to pull it even further up the boy's neck to block out the cold. Riku sighed, allowing her to fuss. If he resisted then it would only take longer for her to stop.
Good thing they were nearly at the dorm, then.
He only had a few bags with him, his parents had arranged for everything to be there when he arrived. All he would have to do is fix the layout of his things in his room and that would be it. For once, he was glad for his parents' concern: he seriously doubted that he could carry his stuff upstairs, he didn't have the strength for that at the best of times, and he was tired today, moreso than usual, though he knew how to hide it from his parents.
When they arrived, he got his bags (amidst protests from his parents, who tried to insist that they carried them instead) and goodbyes were said, his mother almost crushing his frail body in a tight hug. Watching them drive off, probably back to work, a wide grin spread across his face: he was finally out! Free from his parents' limitations. He would still need to be careful with what he did, but he knew what he was capable of doing, more than his parents knew at least. They assumed that he would be too weak to do much of anything, not out of dismissal, but out of worry for him.
Hefting his bags, the action taking more out of him than it would a normal person, he walked up the steps, and found that the door was already open. Going inside, he saw Sora on the couch. He had met Sora Isobe over the net about a year ago, when he had been bored out of his skull and randomly searching the web for whatever crossed his mind. The two of them, along with two others, had become fast friends and, in a bizzare twist of fate, had now been accepted to the same high school. This marked Riku's first time meeting the redhead in person. Collapsing on the couch opposite Sora, he smiled at the boy.
"Sora Isobe, right? Riku Shinra, nice to finally meet you."

Sora smiled back at the boy who looked like he might blow down if the wind hit him too hard, "That's my name, and your's too..." Sora thought for a second about his sentence structure. If you didn't know him, the almost random way he speaks would almost be enough to make you assume that he wasn't from Japan, even though he's never been abroad, or even close to that. He shook his head, and said, "What I mean is that you're right, I'm Sora, and that your name is Riku. But you already knew that part, I assume..." Sora sighed as it became clear to him that he probably made as much sense as the niggling feeling in the back of his head...

He turned back to the redhead, "Have you claimed a room already?", he asked quietly, his usual tone, thinking of the bags and cases of his own things that would be sitting on the landing, waiting for him to drag them into whatever room he chose and unpack it. Of course, it would probably be best to wait until the rest of the boys got there before they decided on who was sleeping where, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Besides, the silence in the room was becoming uncomfortable.

"Nope, I wanted to wait until everyone had arrived. I should be able to tell a little bit about them, depending on what room they want...take you for instance: You ask because you don't want to get on anyone's bad side, but there is a good chance that you want the one closest to the stairs. Me I prefer the furthest away for the stairs, because that gives me more time to wake up before reaching said obstacle...And I'm rambling..." Glancing briefly to the door, Sora wondered whether the other two would be the same as they were on-line, or whether they were different face-to-face...

"Oh...I was just wondering is all. And you're right about the room thing, closer to the stairs is...easier for me.", he had hesitated, he didn't like talking about his condition, it only made people feel sorry for him, and he couldn't stand that. They would treat him differently, make allowances for him, try to stop him from doing things...the same way as his parents did. he shook the thoughts away, they were dangerous thoughts and continued, "I don't mind if you ramble, I'm sure that no matter how much nonsense you happen to speak, that it will be nothing compared to my younger siblings.", he said this with a soft chuckle, remembering the time when one of his brothers, Ryuzaki, had insisted for weeks that his sock drawer was going to attack him if he opened it, and that was why he refused to wear socks. It had taken an eternally patient Riku many attempts to explain that no, the socks were not going to join into one mass and strangle him in his sleep, as Ryuzaki had truly believed they would. Letting another soft laugh escape, he looked back up to Sora, "Sorry, I was in my own world for a moment there. I tend to do that a lot.", he apologised, before following Sora's gaze to the door. He knew the other two boys from the chatrooms, but he also knew that the persona that one held online and your true nature could often be completly different. What would his new dorm-mates' true selves be like?

Page Lorenzo sat quietly in a chair in one of the far rooms, a book open on the table in front of her. She smiled as she read the book, The Silver Sea Shells. It was a book one or two of her own poems had been published in. One of her only great accomplishments. The front door opening caught her attention…guests? Someone was here? She felt her excitement grow as she heard the door open again, and voices accompanying it.
She left the book on the table and glided through the door and down the hall. She stuck her head around the corner and watched quietly as a red head and a boy with dark hair conversed.
"Sora Isobe, right? Riku Shinra, nice to finally meet you."
Sora and Riku huh? Nice names’ she thought with a wicked grin. Riku was kinda cute….
Her smile grew as they talked about picking rooms. Picking rooms? They were staying? She let out a small giggle then froze waiting to see if they had seen her.

"Take all the time that you need in your head, I spend enough time in mine." He smiled, but the smile quickly vanished when he heard a quiet, slightly creepy giggle. Snapping his head towards the general direction of the sound, he didn't see anything, so he turned his head slowly back to Riku, "Did you hear that?.." In Sora's mind, he had probably finally tipped over that little edge of insanity his brothers constantly warned him about...

Bella-Rose gasped, her body jolting up from its slumbering position upon a couch in the back parlor. She looked about the room in panic, trembling slightly to recall where she was. Or even who she was. This was the annual occurrence for Bella when the morning rose her slumbering frame. To answer the young Prince Hamlet's question: The dead could dream. The rub of the matter was recalling what tainted dreams had preyed upon their minds during the deep slumber that she often found herself locked inside. Her life, the dreams, her memories. . . All were but tainted shadows held to the back of her mind. She could not remember her dreams except for the fact that they were horrible. Bella was unsure if the other ghosts were plagued with such a disorder, or if the dreams had only begun upon her death thirteen months ago, but she often wondered what she had done to deserve the pain of waking up daily to such torture.
Bella often questioned why she even bothered to sleep; as a ghost she did not need the rest to revive her lost body. She often took it as habit, but perhaps there was a more sinister reason for her own self-torture. Perhaps she wished to remember the figures that danced inside her mind, tantalizing her with lost secrets and hidden words that she should recall. She settled back into the couch, closing her eyes tightly as if to recall something-- anything-- that would unlock the truth that she sought. Out of habit, she rubbed the smooth, white orb that the dragon pendant rested upon. Even this she could not recall the origin of, but simply the fact that she must never take it off.
Bella opened her eyes at the interruption of giggling laughter that could only have come from Page. It was not the laughter that bothered her, but the sound that quickly followed. "Did you hear that?.." Bella rose from her seat with curiosity. It was a boy that spoke. No guests had come into the girls' domain in many months out of fear or expulsion. Her chocolate eyes drifted to the window with interest. It was fall; a new school year had begun. Perhaps the boy(s) had wandered in on accident.
Bella smoothed her pink skirt that flowed to her knees with gloved hands. She appeared dressed for a recital rather than an eternal haunting of a empty dorm house. Besides the well-groomed clothing, there was one other habit that the other ghosts found strange with Bella: she only wore one color at a time. Today was pink. From head to toe she wore only hues and shades of pink from her hair ties to shoes. Perhaps tomorrow would be blue. She did not know why she dressed this way, but accepted the fact as some type of lingering memory from life. Satisfied with her appearance (even if this act was futile for a ghost) Bella drifted into the main room to find the source of the disturbance. Boys? Bella blinked, wondering if her eyes deceived her as the two boys appeared to be calmly chatting in the main entrance as if they belonged here. She turned to Page who also seemed equally interested and confused. "What is this? How long have they been here?" Bella questioned, a playful smile on her face as she questioned her fellow ghost. No humans had seen them before, so why should these boys be different? Her attention returned to them as she decided to play a game. Remaining in the back of the room, she turned on the stereo, party and dance music, blasting at full volume. Bella did not let her dreams hold her back. Even in death she was a party girl looking for fun as she smiled to Page and danced herself.

The pile moved, a bright green eye peeking out from underneath. "Mrow?" Came the answer. Tezuka laughed, digging the cat out, and held him. The cat licked his face, and then meowed in protest as Tezuka put him in a shoebox. "I know, I know, but I have to get you in there somehow without being seen, we're not allowed to have pets on campus!" Finally getting the cat in, he walked into the building, and finding an empty room, he shoved his few things in, going back for more. He then worried about Kalpin getting out. He sighed, and pulled the door as close to being shut withough actually closing it as far as he could. He then headed back to his car.
Kalpin poked his head out of the box. "Mrow...?" The cat moved around the dark room, exploring his new home. Everything smelled weird, and there was an old lingering scent of smoke. He made his way over to the door, and scratched at it. He had been declawed, so he couldn't actually do any damage. Still, the cat wanted out. "Meow, mrow!!" He mewed loudly. Suddenly, the door shifted. Success! He pushed through the small gap, exploring. He eventually found his way to a large open area with sofas and chairs and windows...and people!
The true friendly nature of the cat took over, and he immedeately went over, sitting down between the two, demanding attention. For good measure, the cat added, "Meorw."
However, when the stereo suddenly turned on by itself, Kalpin jumped and bolted underneath the couch, hissing. He didn't like all the different things he felt in the room.

Destiny's blue eyes were fixated on the dusty shelves that were empty of books ever since it was built. She frowned at it, the dust just sat there, tempting her, taunting her. She reached out to brush it away, but her translucent hand passed through it. She growled and stomped her foot, this dust was maddening!
"Why can't you be good little dust particles and just do what you're told!" She hissed, trying over and over to clean a shelf that just wouldn't clean.
Her eyes narrowed and she whirled around, crossing her arms and stomping out of the room. She heard giggles, and quieted down, cocking her head to the side slightly and padding to the source. Page and Bella stood giggling looking at something. Destiny stood up on her toes to look over the two, seeing nothing, she walked to them and looked around.
"Boys?" The word escaped her lips as she squinted to see if what she was seeing was true. "Why are there boys here?"
That's when Bella turned on the stereo, full blast. Destiny didn't have a problem with music or volume, but the music Bella played wasn't her favorite, and the volume was a bit too loud for her liking. She frowned and went over to the stereo, turning down the music.

Parking, he made sure to lock the doors and put in place the alarm. One can never be too cautious. Actually, that’s a lie. Some people take it way too far. He grinned and whistled as he took out his sack of belongings from the trunk. He frowned and grunted under its heavy weight. Was it really this heavy when I left? Shrugging it off he went on his way to his new home. Reaching inside the building he entered the room designated for him and plonked the sack down on his bed. He thought he heard a slight whimper but he shrugged it off. His ears perked up as music blasted from outside in the hallway and he smiled. "Looks like someone is having fun without me."
Chuckling he opened the door of his room and went out into the hall. By then though the music seemed to have turned off. A slight pout took up his features and he kept walking until he reached a room with people in it. He grinned and made a peace sign. "Yo! Whats up?"

He looked over in the direction of the stereo, thinking it was a dodgy wire or something which had caused it. Then he saw the figures. He didn't see them clearly, only as silvery ripples in the air, but he could tell that they were female. Ghosts? Cool...wonder if Sora-kun can see them, he was always going on about things like that online... He decided to confront the spirits, who evidently had absolutely no taste in music, calmly walking over towards the stereo, a slight frown on his white face.
"Would the young ladies who are making that infernal racket kindly stop? It is absolutely horrible, and here I thought the Spirit World would have better taste in music. I suppose I stand corrected.", though his voice stayed the same, quiet and soft, his words held a calm authority, the effects of being the oldest child of six, he supposed. He sounded like he was simply telling one of his younger siblings off for doing something silly, not confronting beings from a totally different plane of existance. As he spoke, another silvery shimmer glided over to the stereo, and turned the music (and he used that term lightly) down a little.
"That's better, though I would prefer if you turned it off completly, if you don't mind. "

"Would the young ladies who are making that infernal racket kindly stop? It is absolutely horrible, and here I thought the Spirit World would have better taste in music. I suppose I stand corrected." Riku said.
Page stepped out into the open for a moment. Was he talking to her friends?
"Bella please we should scare these poor souls to death. Sorry but you knew how i get" Mercy said.
"I-is he talking to us? is that possible?" Page whispered to herself with a frown. This was all to weird....Suddenly teh song triggered a memory...or she thought it was a memory.
'Page sat looking at a girl, same age, same eyes, different hair, as if it had been inverted it was mostly black with a little silver. She knew she was smiling, she could feel it. The girl took her hand as they danced to the song playing, just being silly in the middle of the mall. All eyes where on them as they spun dipped and twirled, litterally mirroring eachother....' Tears sprung to her eyes as she grasped at the memory but it drifted away...like smoke on the autumn wind.....
She shook herself and rolled her eyes, walked over shut the music off and walked away. She wasn't trying to be rude, but the song...it was what had triggered her memory and she couldn't handle that again.
She made her way back to her room with a sigh. She laid on the bed gently and stared at the ceiling her eyes unfocused. Who where their new guests and what kind of trouble were they bringing?

"I just need to check...excuse me...", he said, his voice sounding distant as he slowly acended the stairs. He was breathing heavily when he reached the landing, but caught a glimpse of the figure going into one of the rooms, the one closest to the stairs. He gently knocked on the door, out of being polite more than anything, then entered. It was difficult to see the ghost on the bed, staring at the ceiling, but Riku found that he could see the faint outline of 'her' (?) if he really focused on it. Sure it made his headache worse, but Riku could never stand to see someone upset. Even if he couldn't technically see them...
"Umm Miss? Ghost? Spirit-thingy? Sorry, this is weird for me, as I'm sure it probably is for you. I'm not here to throw you out of here, aand neither are my friends, I'm sure. I completly respect that you were here first, and...umm...if that means that we need to sleep down in the lounge so you and your companions can stay where you are, then that's fine by me. I'm not sure about the others though, but I'm fine with giving up a proper bed so that you are comfortable.", Riku was clutching at his pendant as he spoke, somehow the contact with the small piece of silver made the image that bit clearer. He hesitantly stepped forward unsure of what the ghost's reaction to his words would be like.

Page sat up quickly when the door opened and the dark haired boy entered. Her thoughts had actually been about him...and then there he was, as if conjured from her very imagination. She thought maybe it was her imagination because she felt as though she was connected to the strange being....but again, she blamed it on the hope that they could make contact with the girls.
"Umm Miss? Ghost? Spirit-thingy? Sorry, this is weird for me, as I'm sure it probably is for you. I'm not here to throw you out of here, aand neither are my friends, I'm sure. I'm not sure about the others though, but I'm fine with giving up a proper bed so that you are comfortable." He said.
To be honest, that was the sweetest thing anyone had ever said to her....but did she actually need sleep? She wasn't sure. She stared at the boy unsure of herself for a moment. He could tell she was here...could he hear her? could he talk to her? How could he see her? These questions flew through her mind in a matter of mili-seconds.
She stood and glided over to him slowly, because she didn't want to scare him. She ran her fingers along his cheek, and down his jaw line hoping to see a reaction. Had he felt it? She hoped so, these boys could be their only hope.
"My name is Page" She said suddenly. She studied his face intently. He looked so tired, and like maybe he was in pain....
"You should sit, you look exhausted" She commented, as she moved over. She didn't know if he could hear her but it was the thought that counted.

"My name is Page" Riku was stunned. He could hear her as well? That wasn't meant to happen, was it? Normal people shouldn't even be able to see ghosts, let alone communicate with them. Okay, he wasn't exactly normal, but the point still stood regardless. He could tell that she...'Page' was staring at him, examining his tired features. He had developed a sense for when people were staring at him over the years...he was used to it now. But this was just plain weird, it had to be said.
"You should sit, you look exhausted" Page said, apparently concerned for him, moving away from him slightly to let him past, taking the bitter cold with her. he was grateful for that at least, he could think a bit clearer now, even as the room started to spin, and his head was pounding. The bed was the only logical place for him, so he flopped down onto it, holding his head like it was going to burst. It certainly felt like it would to him.

The box that Tezuka had been carrying hit the ground. "Kalpin!" He spun around, quickly looking around him. No sign of the cat. He ran, franitcally searching every open space. "Kalpin, come on, where'd you go boy? Here Kitty. Here kitty." The boy with the purple hair was frantic. He slowly made his way to the common area, finding one guy carrying things and aother staring at the wall next to the stereo.
"Hey, you haven't seen a cat around here have you? He's all black, green eyes." Tezuka was breathless, a worried expression all over his face. Kalpin was his life. He loved that cat.

“Hey, you haven't seen a cat around here have you? He's all black, green eyes."
Bella’s gaze flickered from the red-head to a ... purple-head? It took her a moment to register his comment. Something about him simply fascinated her. Shaking herself out, she remembered seeing a cat jump out of the way when she had blasted the stereo. Carefully, Bella walked to where the cat had fled to. He looked terrified. “He is over here,” Bella said softly, looking to the boy. She doubted that he could hear her, but something did seem different about these boys. “Hush little cat, it’s okay. I didn’t mean to scare you,” Bella cooed, trying to reach underneath the table to fish him out.

Tezuka heard the voice before he saw the girl. Where on earth did she come from? And who was she? Wasn't this supposed to be an all-boys dorm? So many questions spun around his head until he finally realized she was showing him her cat. Her translucence hadn't even registered with him yet. He just assumed she was...alive. He walked over to the couch.
“Hush little cat, it’s okay. I didn’t mean to scare you,”
"Merow?" Kalpin pricked his ears forward, inching out from underneath the couch. The girl was strange...Kalpin could see right through her! He swatted at her hand, and yowlled as his paw went straight through it. He scooted out from under the couch pressing closely to Tezuka's leg, who picked him up.
"Kalpin! You almost gave me a heart attack! You're not allowed out here, you're not supposed to leave my room. I can't have you on campus, remember?" He sighed when the cat ignored him, instead hissing at the girl. He gave her an apologetic look. "Sorry, he's normaly really friendly, I think he's just --" He stoped short, staring at the brown-haired, brown-eyed, all-in-pink girl before him.
He could see through her!
Instinctively, or perhaps out of habbit, Tezuka reached up and rubbed the perfectly round, purple stone tucked inside the dragon's tail on his necklace. The purple stone matched his hair almost perfectly. "Whoa..."

Bella's hand wrapped around her own dragon to conceal the charm. She was unsure what to make of this. Kalpin broke her thoughts as he released yet another hiss at her. "I... I didn't mean to scare him," Bella said softly, raising her eyes to the boy's. "It has been away since anyone has come here, to this dorm house I mean. What are you doing here in fact? I thought that they banned it from the public," she said. How long had it been since she last saw someone alive?
