Introduction
Oh, how wrong we were.
All we have left are fragments; bits of memory that make an incomplete timeline at best. From what we can gather, there was a fire or an explosion. Some feel we got shot down. Makes sense. The world is at war after all, been that way for years. Sometimes you just forget. You get so used to the news telling you about mass genocide here or nuclear strikes there it all kinda fades into the background... So, the plane broke apart. A lot of people didn't make it. A lot of us did. The nose was completely destroyed. The wings landed in the ocean. The cabins careened onto a beach, leaving a gash across the landscape. We call it The Scar. It's our base, our home. It's all we know.
That was nearly a week ago. We've spent the days guarding a hastily made signal fire, collecting stuff that washed up on shore and exploring the immediate vicinity, but things are getting desperate. We've begun to entertain the thought that we aren't being rescued anytime soon. Where does that leave us? People are starting to fray. Their carefully constructed realities can't handle the changing tides. The tropical sun beats down on them, stripping away the weakness, curing what little strength they have. Hot winds weather their skin into something thicker. Call it armor. Call it survival. Call it some glimmer of hope that we'll make it through this. Whatever it is, it keeps us going.
Character submission: When you get on a plane, all you know is what your fellow passengers look like. Anything else is an educated guess at most. For an entire flight, you're held in close quarters with total strangers and that's all they'll ever be. To respect that social anonymity, all I want is a realistic picture and a paragraph containing whatever information you deem relevant. Think cheesy dating site profile. People aren't just lists of facts. We should get to know each other through character interactions, just as we would in a real life situation. Put this in the description field.
