Erin Leister's Story

Kaito groaned softly, grasped hold of the blade without paying any heed to how it cut into his finger and then pulled it out with force, letting out a soft hiss of pain. He placed his uninjured hand on the wall and used it to keep himself steady as he forced himself to stand up, swaying slightly on his legs. If he were to be totally honest to himself, he had to admit he was feeling pretty sick after that blow, and it sure had taken out its damage on him. His arm would most likely, if not treated, never be the same again. "Pretty damn sad..." he muttered, glancing up glumly when he heard the voice of another female. Why are there so many human females here? And why the hell are they so annoying?! Attention seeking idiots! All I wanted was a moment of peace and quiet... He trailed off in his thoughts and shook his head before starting to stalk away, clutching his arm.

"Damn it, why the hell won't everyone just shut up?" muttered Kaito darkly, narrowing his eyes and facing away from them. "You're giving me a headache and getting me into a foul mood..."

"I guess that's why I found you on the grass the next day, isn't it, Kaito? Why, Kaito, why?"

He froze in his steps, remaining turned away from them and keeping silent for a moment before speaking, calmly. "What? Is the truth too much to bare, little human," he smiled, a wide and crazed smile that glinted his fangs as he swirled around to face them. Before she had a chance to react he was in front of her, grasping hold of her shoulder and pushing her against the wall with his uninjured arm as he placed his other hand on her cheek. Leaning close to her neck, he murmured. "I am not just a murderer, I am a nature... as such is my nature, taking the life of humans, devouring their blood... means nothing to me..." he leaned down and grazed her neck with his fangs, chuckling softly as he held her in place.

Then he paused, still holding her in place but leaning back so he could look at the others, and tilting his head "Well... since you have the intension to kill me anyway, it wouldn't really matter for me if I killed these two humans as well, would it? Might as well have some before before I die, no?" he laughed and grasped hold of her chin, ignoring the pain it caused him as he turned his attention back to her. "Ah... but since you did save me... I guess I kind of am in debt to you. It would be wrong of me... just please stop acting like this is some kind of melodrama, it is quite annoying..." he trailed off and then glared at the other girl, "and you better shut up too. You are even worse, self obsessed bit*h! Honestly, who cares if you hurt your freakin' ankle? Just shut up and take the pain already."

Haru, sighed. They are all alike, they care about nobody but themselves, they all think they are so much better than humans, Vampires make me sick. Haru then turned her back to him.

Haru looked at her ankle, "besides I was doing a militay tactic." she whispered to herself.

Haru sighed. "besides you're the one talking so much." She whispered

He pushed her to the wall suddenly, and Erin's breath caught in her throat. "Kaito." She whispered. She suddenly raised her voice again and asked him; "What about Michelle? What would she do if she found out?" She pushed against him, leaning all her weight on his injured shoulder. His skin was soft, but cold. It was just like before, on the grass. Except he'd been more peaceful then. She shivered, and struggled more when she listened to his words. Tears streamed down her cheeks in unending torrents, her stomach churning with the happiness of seeing him again and the horror at what he was.

She, of course, obeyed his instructions to stop acting like it was a melodrama, because he was right. It wasn't melodrama, it was real life. She wasn't sobbing but she cried silently, inside she felt as if her heart was being torn to pieces by giant hands. "I guess I did save your life, but I'm not exactly in the position to accept a favor from you right now." She muttered to herself. "Besides, you'll just kill me anyway later." She sighed. She was doomed. She was going to die, one day, so why not make it now?

Erin didn't want to die in the dark. She wished to be out in the open, able to see the stars before she closed her eyes forever. She couldn't help but notice how cold and unforgiving Kaito had become. He was not the person Erin had saved. She wished she could see the real Kaito before he did whatever he was going to do.

Haru saw the danger, she stood up still in so much pain and struggled to push the one known as Kaito away. "Stop you jerk, she was so caring and this is how you over grown mosquito, repay her. You are the one who is the worst!"

Haru turned to Erin. "I won't let you die. I promise"

Haru glared at Erin, "What do you mean, he insulted me first. What am i supposed to say yes I a bi*** ?"

Haru looked down clenching her fists, "Don't let your feelings get in the way......or you'll end up hurt." She whispered as tears ran down her face. "No I won't leave either, I won't run like my father did."

Erin threw all of her weight onto Kaito's injured, bleeding shoulder again. She struggled against him, using her body weight to push against him and try and escape on her own. She listened to Haru's words. "Shut up, you've hurt yourself and you're insulting a... a vampire?!" She snapped, but she also didn't want to sound rude or angry. "Look, just get yourself out of here. Please. So nobody else gets involved." She threw Haru a pained look, almost saying; Please, just with her eyes.

Kaito had changed. She remembered when she had dragged him out of the sunlight, and he'd looked so ill....He'd treated her so nicely. He had been so polite. When she looked into his green eyes she remembered that. But now he held her in place, and she was unable to move. She watched his eyes carefully, stared him out. Or at least tried to. She sighed and looked down at her feet. She had accepted that she was in this position, but she would fight anyway. That would not stop her from putting up one last battle. "Haru! Get out of here." She yelled.

Zero was watching the whole scene unfold. He put his hand on Erin's shoulder. "Listen, he killed that day class student, and the consequence for this is death. He pulled Erin off of Kaito and looked at her sternly. "Please head back to your dorm room immediately" he said coldly and turned to Arisa. "And you, I understand you're a vampire hunter but not while at the academy. If any vampire should be killed it is either my job, or the Headmaster's decision if he should be killed. I told you to stay out of this, even though you are a hunter, you are still a day class student. And since you have broken a rule, you are now also in almost as much trouble as Kaito" he said coldly on his emotionless face, that in the inside was depressed.

He grabbed Arisa's hand and Kaito's shoulder and dragged them out of the Dungeon. On his way out he saw Haru and Rose watching, "I have to ask you both to leave now, and Haru you're aunt is here. She wants to see you" he said sternly and left.

Rose studied the whole situation, "So he's the one who killed that girl" she said sadly and looked down. She then looked up at Haru eyes, full of sadness. "Yes, I want to talk to you, I don't care about you going back to your dorm. Just listen. My parents were friends with the Kurans and I think I remember you, but vaguely. My parents were killed but a level E vampire when I was a little girl, and the Kurans took me in as an adopted child. A human in a family with a bunch of vampires" she said giving a fake smile and trying to hold back a sob.

"The Kurans were hosting a dinner party, and that's where one of the guests turned me" she said sadly as a tear ran down her face, "I became a level D, and I ran away from them, I was so ashamed of what happened to me. I found this academy and now I live here. But it all honesty I have nobody, no family, no one" she said as more tears fell down her face and she started sobbing. She then quickly hugged Haru tightly, as she cried uncontrollably. "Your the only one I have that's closest to family" she said between sobs, she didn't let go of Haru. Her high pitched voice making things seem even more sad.

Kaname watched Hanabusa brush his lips against Yuki's. This angered him, Rido, you just want to anger me don't you?, he said to himself and approached Hanabusa. He pulled Hanabusa's wrist so he was away from Yuki. The whole night class went silent and gasped. He slapped him hard across the face, "Get into your uniform quickly, you're keeping everyone waiting" he said sternly and let go of his wrist that he squeezed painfully hard. He turned to Yuki, "Thank you for bringing his uniform, Yuki." he said and looked at her, trying to tell her that she should leave.

Kaito blinked as the girl annoying,y me turned Michelle and themselves softly, lifting his bloodied hand and sadly caressing her cheek. "What would she do?" he whispered as he leaned closer to the girl. "My sweet 'sister' would be so disappointed in me... it would make her so sad. Every normal person would have hated me, hated me for the monster I am... but not Michelle. Michelle could never bring herself to hate me. That is what makes very thing so much worse.." Kaito sighed softly and trailed off, letting his hand drop to his said and shaking his head.

As the girl started to first talk with the other, annoying girl and then yelled for her to get out, Kaito sighed again and took a step back, letting Erin go. This melodrama bored him to death... not literally, of course. But he liked to express it that way... Somehow talking about death amused him. Perhaps because he really did wish to die... though he wasn't entirely sure that actually was the case. "Yes, it is..." he muttered to himself before cringing as Zero placed his hand on his shoulder. Kaito's expression went first dead, them blank, then confused.

When he turned around to look at Zero, not even as much as a hint of recognition showed on his features. Kati was indeed genuinely confused, almost as though he did not remember anything happen prior to this. Therefor, he did not struggle as he level D started dragging him towards he office. He simply went with him, cringing in pain now and then but remaining silent. His chest heaved with exhaustion, something caused by bit the situation and blood loss... even if he didn't understand it. "W-where... am I?" he finally asked, his voice barely more than a quiet rasp.
