| Name: Yoranda Natuvia Garmold | Age: 18 | Gender: Female | Sexuality: Straight | Height: 4'6" | Weight: 105lbs |
| Race/Species: Dwarf | Hair Colour: Dark brown | Eye Colour: Brown | Skin Colour: Tanned | Trade: Bard/Minstrel |

Image

Appearance:
Standing at approximately four feet and six inches in height, Yoranda weighs only about 105 pounds. She has lightly-tanned skin and her build is slender. She has long, wavy dark hair that comes down just past her shoulders. Yoranda has large, round brown eyes, arched eyebrows, and a petite nose. She, like the rest of her family, sports full lips. Yoranda's outfits are less modest than her twin as her focus is more on style, and she can often be seen in a variety of pieces - skirts of all lengths, trousers with tall boots, blouses, tight-fitting tops, sweaters, anything she wishes to wear. The twins always wear a pair of matching golden rings with green stones in them that their older sister Barynn made for them.

Image

Personality:
Yoranda is perky, vibrant, upbeat, bubbly, and full of life. She has a tendency to be a bit loud and she loves to socialize. She is the type to strike up a conversation with a random stranger completely out of the blue. She loves to sing, and even when not performing, will sometimes just randomly sing for the fun of it. She loves dancing, chatting, and shopping. Yoranda can be a bit naive compared to her sister, however, and it is often Unarelle who will pull her sister out of situations that she's afraid may escalate. While Unarelle is dependent on Yoranda for socialization, it's Yoranda that's dependent on Unarelle for common sense. Yoranda has a tendency to be a flirt and will rarely back down from the opportunity to hop into bed with an attractive man. She hopes one day to fall in love, settle down, and have children, but for now, she is simply living life and having fun.

History/Bio
Yoranda and her twin sister, Unarelle, are tied for the position as the second-youngest of the eight Garmold children. They exhibited opposite personalities even from infancy, with Unarelle being a quiet baby who was easy to care for and Yoranda being a loud, demanding baby that drained all the energy of their parents. From early childhood, Yoranda demonstrated a passion and talent for singing, so her parents decided to enroll her in lessons. Her teachers quickly recommended that Yoranda should train for the bard's trade, and her parents agreed. When the twins were four years old, Yoranda fell ill and Unarelle spent all her time with her sick sister. The healers never could quite figure out what was wrong with her and could do little more for her than treat her symptoms. Eventually, Yoranda got better of her own accord.

Over the years, Yoranda has had several random episodes of sickness. Each time, her twin has been right there at her side. They still do not know what has caused it, only that Yoranda's sickness may be what's given her the vibrancy and love of life that she has. At sixteen, Yoranda became romantically involved with a boy from the settlement. He took her virginity, and while Unarelle was disappointed with her twin for giving up her virtue so early and so easily to someone with whom she knew it wasn't going to last, Yoranda was far from disappointed. Since then, she has dated and slept with a few different men including him - all of them multiple times over a period of time, and she's never been involved with more than one man at any given time.

Now, at eighteen, recent events are causing immense change in the lives of the twins. With two of their older siblings - Barynn and Istrain - having both left Bhagh-Nernwahrum to pursue lives on the surface, other families are beginning to look upon the Garmold family name as somewhat shameful. In an attempt to patch things up with the rest of their colony and preserve their good name, their parents have agreed to an arranged marriage for Unarelle to a young man from a family of high rank. He's had feelings for her for years, but she never reciprocated because she always thought he was an ass. Now, she has little choice. Hoping to save her sister and knowing that she'd easily be able to please the man and be a good wife, Yoranda even volunteered to take Unarelle's place and marry him, but he was insistent that it was Unarelle he wanted.

Frightened and devastated, Unarelle does not wish to marry this man. Yoranda has had to make a hard decision now and she has decided to take her twin and leave Bhagh-Nernwahrum in order to escape the arrange marriage. Their plan is to take all their savings and venture to Veritas Isle, where they know their older sister Barynn lives and they know she will take care of them until they figure out what to do with their own lives.

So begins...

Isla looked up when he patted her head and she smiled, "Ahh yeah, thank you so much. I know it was heavy. Gonna repay you in cookies. I promise... I am not up to three batches... so be prepared on Monday for just that." She giggled. Her blue eyes shined when he looked down at her. Isla wondered how it would be to cuddle him, she would be swimming in his arms and she was quite alright with that.

Birger snapped his attention back to Yora and saw her struggling to get on the stool. He smirked, trying hard not to laugh, but a few snickers came out before he helped. He placed both his hands on her hips and gently lifted her onto the stool and patter her head. "Still the cutest thing to watch." He laughed softly before going around the bar and patted Ingrid's head as she figured out how to make a drink. She giggled and shook her head before going back to the order she was making. Birger's sister wished he hadn't knocked up any of those girls. She didn't much care for them and it was obvious that the family caused trouble. She wished that they had broken up, no babies included, and he would have moved on to Ingrid. She made him laugh and smiled and was just a good girl at heart. Sure she was costing him a buck in glasses, but she was learning. A part of her wanted to talk to him and tell her brother to just dump the girl and have rights to see the babies. He had not business going back to a Garmold girl. He would have never snapped if Yora hadn't come around. At least the weird and quiet one knew what to do best. She sighed a bit and shook her head, refusing to acknowledge Yora and walked over to help Ingrid. Birger smiled a bit at his sister before looking at Yora. "What can I get for ya, kid?" He asked with a smirk.

Dev huffed, "If I have mine and steal yours... it will be beyond potential, but by the time you know this it will be too late. They will be mine." She said before laughing evilly and then just laughing in general. When he said she couldn't steal his babies and looked around she blinked before watching him throw a fry at her. She gently picked it up and held it up for him to see and glared before dipping it in cheese sauce and eating it. "Mmm well... if you are going to throw damn fries at me, shit... gonna really have to take your kids. That would be like... the nicest thing you could do. Boost my ego AND end my hunger. Jesus, Kyle, you really are a nice guy." She laughed a bit.

Vlora loved when he raised his eyebrow and maybe she was guilty with arguing with him a bit to make him do so. She knew Kyle would never make a contract. The boy is an idiot, but hot damn if her man wasn't handsome. "Mmm you bookworm, probably looked handsome doing so. You read a book and I beat up some guys, that is the kind of world I like living in." She teased with a smile. When he talked about Hazel her smile grew. "Oh yes... and if she doesn't like to learn EVERYTHING. The girl can sing, she can quote classics, speak threw languages... well two fluently and the third is a work in progress. It makes it fun to watch and I always wonder what she will be as she gets older." She said softly and kissed his hand. When the waitress came back they ordered their meals and Vlora looked back at him. "Since you have been a mistress to your studies when did you get into dating? I feel like it would have been during college, but I could be totally wrong." She said softly.

Rhyanid smiled down at Isla when she thanked him and said that she would repay him in cookies. He loved the shimmer that he saw in her eyes when she spoke and he gave a nod. "Well, you know I love cookies, so I'm not going to say no to that," he said with a laugh. "I'll be up front if you need anything," he said, patting her head gently before leaving the back room and heading to the front of the store. Illyana spoke up only after he was gone. "You know he likes you, right?" she asked, not even looking at Isla, her gaze focused straight ahead on Rouge the entire time she spoke.

Yoranda huffed a bit as Birger lifted her up on to the chair, but giggled once she was up there. She watched Birger's sister go to help Ingrid, and when Birger asked what he could get for her, she looked straight at him and tried her hardest not to giggle. "One scotch, please. Neat. And a couple tequila shots while you're at it," she said, keeping a perfectly straight face and speaking in a flat voice, though she knew that as soon as he reacted she was going to break down laughing.

Kyle shook his head at her somewhat. "If I ever meet someone I wanna have kids with, I doubt she'll let you steal our children for your army. It takes two to make a baby, remember - they're not just gonna be my kids," he told her with a chuckle. He burst out laughing when she ate the fry, shaking his head a bit and munching on his own fries while she spoke. "I should rethink this french fry plan," he said with a chuckle.

Bastian smiled at her as she said he had probably looked handsome doing his schoolwork. He could see no correlation, but she obviously saw one and he figured it was best not to question it. He smiled as she talked about Hazel. He quite admired the young girl, what with her aptitude and hunger for learning and knowledge. "It'll certainly be interesting to see what your niece becomes as she grows older," he agreed. He paused while the waitress came, and then turned his attention back to Vlora when she spoke up again. He smiled somewhat as she questioned when he started dating. "I dated two young women in high school. They were brief relationships, though. They didn't quite share the same values I held dear to me, though. The women I met in university were more my type, or so I thought - intelligent, with similar values... I just always found that there was something missing, though," he said with a smile. He had a feeling that he knew now what had been missing - Vlora was a smart woman, but she had a strength and physical aptitude that his previous girlfriends had lacked, something that drew him to her immensely.

Jerome was still fuming over his encounter with Bastian De Larousse earlier. Things had been going just fine, and the lawyer had bought everything he'd fed him, but the damn financial lawyer had finally figured out why the numbers hadn't been adding up. He couldn't believe the way Bastian had gone off at him. He'd never seen the man so angry. Bastian was always a calm and level-headed type. Now, he was without a lawyer, and that frustrated him. He was no lawyer. He couldn't very well handle this himself. Bastian would come around, though. They always did. For now, he was headed home, ready to have some dinner, sort out some paperwork, and call it a night.

Isla giggled and nodded, "You go man the front like no one's business, Rhyan." She said and watched him leave before going back to the fish and making sure they were okay. When Illyana spoked she didn't look back. Isla played it cool and laughed, "Nah, he is just that sweet. Very sweet man that... probably is a fault. See he had this horrid ex... horrible woman... and despite her being horrible he was the sweetest. Your mother did an amazing job as raising and as a single mom to a son I can only hope to have my son be half as sweet as your brother." She said softly and gently started to let the fish into the tank.

Birger blinked and raised an eyebrow. "An apple juice with ice. Got you." He smirked and went to it. Ingrid had made her last order and handed it to the man before looking over Birger and letting him know she was going to go since her shift actually ended twenty minutes ago. Birger nodded and told her to be safe before going over back to Yora and handed her the drink. "Here is your... uh scotch clean." He said and then made her shots of ginger ale.

Dev huffed, "Well now I just gotta get your baby momma to love me and just slip them right out from under her... or have her join the army too. HA!" She giggled and took a bite of her burger when he made the comment of having to change his fry plan. It made her giggle with cheeks full of burger and she shook her head before covering her mouth to eat. Once she swallowed she looked over at him. "Mmm... you can't just joke like that when I take food into my mouth, Kyle. A girl could choke." She laughed a bit.

Vlora blinked in surprise when he said he started to date in high school. "Gasp... Bastian." She smirked. "You were dating when you were supposed to be studying. Such shame... and here I thought you were one who would have married his studies if she were to be a woman." Vlora clearly joked. "I would say sorry, but then that means I wouldn't have you and I find that kind of... sad. You know? I love you a good bit and to think some other woman would have you is... depressing." She said and blinked when she realized she really would be depressed if he were with another woman and that made her realization of him saying he loved her had to be adrenaline. Vlora cleared her throat a bit and sipped her wine.

Ingrid had waved at her boss and made her way out. She was glad she wore her outfit. It gave her more tips. The young woman made a mental note to show more skin when working if she wanted bigger tips. It was a nice and cool day. The wind wrapped around her legs and made her skirt fly a bit as she walked. Ingrid was staying at the inn till she could find something else that was in her price range.

Illyana raised an eyebrow as Isla mentioned Rhyanid having a horrible ex, looking briefly over at her in surprise before turning her attention back to Rouge. "Poor Rhyan," she said softly. "He is sweet. He was lovely at dinner last night. Very cheerful and smiley. Then again, he was always happy - I recall my mother saying what a happy baby he was when he was little. She never had any problems with him," she said softly, smiling fondly at what few precious memories she had of little Rhyanid. "But still, he does like you. It's glaringly obvious. I doubt you're in the market for a relationship right now, though, are you? What with having a young son and all," she said.

Yoranda raised an eyebrow when he said apple juice with ice, hoping that he wasn't being serious. She gave Ingrid a wave as she left and blinked when Birger brought her the apple juice with ice. "This isn't what I ordered. You'd think a bartender would know that neat means no ice," she said, huffing dramatically and beginning to pluck the ice cubes out of her drink and set them down on the counter beside her.

Kyle smirked a little when she said that she would get his future baby momma to join the army. That, he had to admit, was amusing. He burst out laughing when she had to cover her mouth up at his joke, since it was full of food, and he smiled a bit at her words. "Sorry. I guess there's not really anything I could do if you were choking, either, since there's kind of a baby in the way. That was my bad," he told her with a bit of a shrug before munching the last bite of his hot dog. "Should I walk you home after we're done here?" he asked.

Bastian chuckled at Vlora's words a bit, shaking his head. When she said that the idea of some other woman having him would depress her, he gave her a gentle smile and reached over, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "Well, cherie, I also love you a good bit and I'm grateful that you didn't fall into the arms of some other man before I found you," he told her. He hoped that what he felt for Vlora was as real as he thought it was. He'd certainly never felt this way before, not about anybody, and she was so special and remarkable to him. He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles softly before taking a sip of his wine.

Jerome was walking in the streets when he spotted a young lady in a particularly daring outfit, smirking somewhat at the sight of her. He passed her by, and though his gaze had started to wander down to her legs as her skirt fluttered about in the breeze, something else caught his eye that made him stop dead in his tracks. He hesitated a bit before turning around, catching up with her in ease. "Excuse me," he said politely, falling into pace with her, "but do I know you from somewhere? You seem...familiar," he said. What he really needed was just for her to look his way, so he could look into those eyes and see if his vision had been correct.

When Illyana said poor Rhyan she nodded, but she never looked away from her fish. "Mmm Rhyan was always like that huh?" She laughed softly. "He is a good man... and you can tell he loves his mother a lot. It is the cutest thing ever, probably because I have a son, but still." She said and when she made the comment about her being in the market she shrugged. "I could be in the market, but if I was I still wouldn't date your brother." She lied. "My son comes first and I need this job. He can like me all he likes, but I would hope he would keep things professional." She said and let the last of the fish go before going over to the racks and looking at the fish food.

Birger wrinkled his nose. "Warm apple juice is just piss in a glass, Yora... dear god." He sighed and shook his head. "At least I have you shots." He smirked. "Here I was being nice and giving you cold apple juice. You are the meanest." He sighed and went over to help another patron. "You know the new bartender has a nice ass rack on her. Damn... too bad Birger had to go and knock up that dwarf. He looks better with that two colored eyed hottie." A guy next to Yora had said to his friend.

Dev shook her head at the boy. So he was interested in a relationship with a woman, just not right now. "Mmm sure... you have to talk to Hazel anyway." She said and waved for the waitress to get her a doggy bag. "I know you aren't looking right now for a girlfriend and hell kudos to you, but when you do I have a sister who is a sweetheart. Very loving and down to earth. Knows how to fight, but refuses to use it against anyone unless she has to protect herself. You might like her... and she will be easy to get into my army." She smirked devilishly and thanked the waitress before putting her food up.

Vlora smiled a bit and blushed when he kissed her knuckles, such a gentleman he was. "So I know you are a great boss and all, but do you have any reason why Claire is so... quiet and stern? I mean I think I am getting to her since she as nice enough to translate your speech today." She giggled.

Ingrid blinked when she heard the voice and looked up to see the elf and her happy face went a bit dull before smiling. "Nope... I have not a clue who you are. Should I? I am sorry if I don't... but I haven't been to the islands before and I moved into the kingdom down below a couple of years ago." She said. She didn't want this elf man anywhere near her.

Illyana raised an eyebrow at Isla's words, surprised by how totally uninterested she seemed to be in her brother. She gave a small nod, though. "I see," she murmured, but said nothing more, focusing her attention back on Rouge. She wasn't certain yet what the poor thing's problem was, but she was determined to figure it out.

Yoranda wrinkled up her nose at Birger, giggling when he brought her shots. "Thanks," she said, downing one of the ginger ale shots while he went to help another patron. She heard the words of the man beside her and she blinked. Was he totally stupid, not realizing that she was the one sitting beside him. She picked up her apple juice and turned her seat to face him, reaching up and pouring the drink over his head. "Knock up what dwarf, exactly? Hmm?" she asked, setting down the glass and folding her arms over her chest. "And don't fucking talk about Ingrid that way. She's a sweet fucking girl, more than just a rack. Asshole."

Kyle nodded when she said that he had to talk to Hazel. "Yeah, that's true. Gotta insist to her that she's a good thing for my brother and to be buddies with him," he chuckled. He blinked when she said that she had a sweet sister she'd set him up with if he was interested in a relationship, and he shook his head. "Oh, no, thanks. I really am swearing off the whole dating game. If love wants me, it's gonna have to come find me - and even then, I'm not gonna trust it," he said with a bit of a sigh, gathering up his garbage and throwing it out while Dev was getting a takeout container for her food.

Bastian blinked when she asked why Claire was so quiet and stern, and he shrugged a bit. "It's just her personality. She doesn't talk a lot unless it's business-related. In truth, I don't actually know all that much about her. She and her stepmother handled her father's affairs with our firm when he passed away, and she was quite friendly with my secretary at the time. The secretary recommended Claire as a replacement when she went on maternity leave, and I took her on permanently when my previous secretary decided to leave her position and pursue life as a stay-at-home mother. She's an excellent secretary," he said with a fond smile. "I am surprised that she would have translated my...speech...today. It was... riddled with language that I've never heard her even touch," he said. "Perhaps you are growing on her."

Jerome noticed the shift in the young woman's face when she looked up at him but, more importantly, he noticed those eyes. He blinked slightly, looking at her. "I'm sorry. I... must be mistaken. There was just... something familiar in your eyes. That's all," he said, and then paused. He should just turn around and keep walking. He should go home and continue with his evening... but something was stopping him. "My name is Jerome. I apologize for stopping you in the street like this," he said. "This is your first time to the islands, then? Business, or pleasure?" he asked, more genuinely curious about this woman than he'd been about anyone in years.

Isla fed the fish a bit of the food in the back and let them swim about before going in the front. She looked at the door and then at Rhyan. "Your sister is on to you. She is like 'You know he likes you, right' and 'It's glaringly obvious'." She whispered. "Luckily I threw her off with my very serious speech about how my son is my number one and I need this job, blah blah blah." She looke around. "So either you suck at acting or your sister has a keen eye." She laughed softly.

The tavern got quiet and the man who had the drink poured on him turned around and yanked Yora towards him by her collar and growled. "You, you fuck-" He was interrupted by Birger slamming his face into the bar. "You might want to let her fucking go." He growled and leaned in, "Unless you want your damn head smashed into this damn bar." The guy let Yora go and Birger did the same to him. "I will fucking get you back for that Birger... and your stupid cunt!" He yelled before walking out. He looked up at Yora and looked her over, "Are you okay?" He asked.

Dev blinked and looked at him. When he came back she stood and looked up at him, "You know... you gonna have to trust them if you want a kid out of her. She isn't just gonna marry you and give you three kids of you don't trust her." She said and opened the door, "ladies first." She smirked.

Vlora listened to him and smirked, "It seems like you are just hiring all kind of family friends." She said softly and when he made the comment that she was growing on Claire, Vlora couldn't stop the smile from getting bigger. "Well I sure hope so. Maybe if I keep bringing her food when I bring us food. Or flowers... she seems like a lady who might enjoy a flower or two." She said and looked away to think about what to get Claire.

Ingrid sighed when he brought up her eyes. The damn things were the reason she was freaking kidnapped in the first place and just caused so much damn trouble for her. She was going to invest in some damn sunglasses once this creep left her alone. "Hi... the names Pauline." She said softly. Ingrid as sure not going to give him her real name. "Uhm, yeah... first time and I guess both?" She said though she had no idea why she didn't just lie about that too. "I am going to see if the island is a forever home or just a chapter in my life. Uhm... you?" She asked, thinking that was a stupid thing to do since she really didn't want to lead that man on to anything.

Rhyanid smiled at Isla when she came out. He blinked when she softly told him that Illyana was on to him, glancing at the office door and then back at Isla. "I didn't think I sucked at acting. Shit, what if I suck at acting? My mom's gonna figure us out," he said, looking quite disappointed in himself. "Let's just hope maybe Illyana's super perceptive. Did you figure out anything with the fish?" he asked, nodding towards the empty fishtanks up front.

Yoranda was startled when the guy grabbed her, not having expected that at all - she'd assumed he'd get all sheepish and realize how damn stupid he was one he realized what he'd done. She was relieved when Birger stepped in, glaring at the man when he said he'd get them back. Once he was gone and Birger asked if she was okay, she nodded. "Yeah, just...startled. And pissed. Fucking asshole. Did you hear what he said?" she asked, huffing a bit and then glancing around the tavern at the rest of the patrons, recalling how Birger had said the regulars had been missing her, and how fondly they'd looked her way when she'd come in. She had to remind herself rather forcefully that the man's words were not the popular opinion in this tavern. The people here generally liked her. He was just one asshole - one guy who was obviously wrong.

Kyle blinked at Dev's words, looking at her. "That's... not what I said," he said with a bit of a smirk. "I meant I won't trust love. Like, if I meet some girl some day and I'm like 'oh shit I'm in love with her', I'm not gonna trust that that's actually what it is, or that it's going to work out. Obviously I'd have to trust the chick if I'm ever gonna have kids with her," he laughed. He blinked when she said ladies first, and he gently grabbed on to the door, smirking down at her. "I'm not budging until you're through this door," he said.

Bastian blinked at her comment about hiring family friends. "I wouldn't exactly call them family friends. Just that she and her stepmother were clients. I didn't even do the work for them - that was Peter, since he handles estate planning," he told her with a bit of a shrug. When she said that she hoped to continue winning Claire's favour and that she might give her flowers, Bastian smiled. "She's fond of flowers," he said.

Jerome smiled when the young woman introduced herself. "Pauline... you have a lovely name," he remarked. When she said she was here for both, determining whether or not she'd stay, he gave an understanding nod, and he smiled when she asked why he was here. "Business, sadly. I've actually never visited these islands for pleasure, though many do," he said. He paused a moment, wondering what to say next. It had been so long since he'd genuinely wanted to learn about a person. The only things he really knew to ask were the things needed to manipulate someone, and if he could keep this girl's ear, he hoped to avoid doing that. "Have you yet found a job and a place to stay? I could be able to help if you're looking for either," he suggested with a bit of a smile.

Isla patted his hand softly, he had such big hands. "Think of Victoria or someone who has hurt you. I have to go to James' father's place and do the who single life is me kind of thing. It is hard, but I don't want to lose this job..." She said and blushed hard, "or you." She said softly and looked back at the tanks. "Not yet. I am going to give them time to let the water filter through them before I see, but I am going to go look in the tank and see what is happening with that." She said softly and looked back. There was a part of the store that hid you from the front door and office. "Come with me." She said softly and dragged him to that corner. "No one can see us... now kiss me." She whispered and smirked.

The tavern's regulars clapped when the man left and shook their heads. They were just as pissed as Birger. Birger sighed and looked at Yora, "I am sorry... no, I didn't. What did he say?" He asked and moves a piece of hair out of her face and behind her ear. Freja, Birger's sister, shook her head and said nothing. The woman thought the girl was more trouble than she was worth.

Dev shook her head, "Sorry about that... I really did misunderstand." She said softly, a bit of a habit coming back from her ex. When he said he wouldn't trust if it was actually love or not. "I can't help you with that, but... I know loving someone can get you hurt... I know all too well about that." She said and then huffed. "I guess we are just going to stand he-" She as interrupted by a girl running by, the same one as earlier. "Wait... a fucking second. HAZEL!" She yelled and the girl looked back and sure enough, it was her, but she looked a good bit older. "That damn child... she has too much of our damn blood in her. Come on... you win today, boy." She smirked and headed on home.

Vlora sighed, "Well, in any case, you KNEW them before working there." She said and when he mentioned that Claire was fond of flowers she about clapped. "Oh good... totally gonna win your sec over. Then maybe she can tell me all your secrets." She joked before shaking her head. Their food came out and Vlora smiled before thanking her and looking at him. "Thank you... for he dinner and all." She said softly.

Ingrid smiled, "Thanks." She said, though it wasn't her name at all. It was the name of a human girl back in the tribe she escaped from. She nodded and looked him over, "I see." She said. The inn wasn't far away and she could start to inch that way, but she felt like he would follow. "I have a job as a bartender and I am staying at an inn for now... until I can raise enough for my own place that is." She said and smiled up at him.

Rhyanid shook his head at her words. "I'm not letting you lose this job. Don't worry. I know you need this job. I'm not letting anything happen to that," he said. He listened while she talked about the fish tanks and he nodded understandingly, blinking when she dragged him so they were hidden from view by some shelves. When she whispered for him to kiss her, a slight smirk came to his lips. "Don't mind if I do," he murmured, lifting his hands to cup her face before leaning down and pressing his lips softly to hers, still feeling that same magic that he'd felt the night before when he'd kissed her for the first time.

Yoranda was relieved that the regulars clapped for the man leaving, another reminder that his opinion was not the popular opinion there. She gazed up at Birger as he tucked her hair behind her ear and asked what the man had said. "He commented on Ingrid's rack and said it was a shame you'd gone and 'knocked that dwarf up' because you'd look better with Ingrid. Fucking asshole," she said, sighing, and then a bit of a smirk came to her lips. "Besides, I think we all know Ingrid can do way better than you," she joked with a giggle, gently grabbing on to his hands and holding them.

Kyle nodded when she said she'd misunderstood, and he gave another nod when she said she knew that loving someone could get you hurt. "Yes, it's... unfortunate," he sighed. He smirked a bit when she started to say that they'd be standing here, and he laughed when she called out Hazel as she ran by. "Ha. I knew I'd win. Maybe I should be the one leading the army and not you," he joked as he started to follow her.

Bastian chuckled a bit at her words and he gave a nod. "Yes, that is fair. I was acquainted with Claire before hiring her, and many of my colleagues are old friends of my parents or people I met in law school. I'd like to introduce you to my colleagues some time, actually, if that'd be acceptable for you," he told her. He blinked when she said that Claire would tell her all his secrets. "Or you can simply ask me. I don't really have any secrets, anyways, beyond the ones I can't legally share with you due to confidentiality issues," he said. He looked up when their food came, smiling and thanking the waitress. He looked at Vlora, smiling when she thanked him. "You're welcome, ma cherie. Enjoy," he told her before starting to eat.

Jerome smiled as the girl spoke on, and when she said she was staying at an inn and trying to raise enough money for a place of his own, he blinked before starting to rummage around in the pocket of his suit. He pulled out a few different business cards, looking them over before finding the right one and handing it to her. "I may be able to help with that. I own a few rental properties around the islands - some houses and a few apartments, depending on what your needs are. When you're ready to look for a place, if you come to my office on the island and show my secretary this card, she'll be happy to help," he told her with a smile.

Isla giggled when he said he didn't mind kissing her and when he actually did she melted once more. Her hands gently pressed on his chest and she tippy-toed to help him out while kissing back. His lips were the same kinds of soft and she still felt that tingle all over her body and her heart swooning. Isla didn't want to break the kiss but she knew it was already a risk and that he had to bend so far down. "Mmm... I still like it." She giggled.

Birger shook his head and glared at the door when she told him what that man had said. He knew some people could act a damn fool, but he was glad he could get rid of one asshole in his tavern. He didn't like their company anyway. When she said that Ingrid could do better he lightly slapped the counter and pointed at her, "You damn right she can." He smirked and Freja nodded. "Preach, girl." She smirked and shook her head. Birger growled, "No one asked the peanut gallery." He said and she scuffed. "I need no man to tell me what I can and cannot do..." She said and walked off to do orders.

Vlora smiled softly and began eating too, waiting on until they were done to talk again. "I wouldn't dare ask you about your cases unless... you know it involved my family or friends, but then again... I would hope you wouldn't defend someone who had hurt them." She said softly.

Ingrid took the card and smiled, though on the inside she was sighing and rolling her eyes. A businessman just looking for business. She had met and slept with a few in order to get what she needed but she was trying to start new and get her life on a good track. "Oh, uhm... thanks." She said and placed the card in her small bag. "I see you are a business man." She said.

Rhyanid loved kissing her, and when she broke the kiss he was somewhat disappointed, though her comment more than made up for it and he grinned a bit. "I do, too. I'm glad. I was worried the magic would go away," he said softly, leaning down and kissing her nose once before standing upright and patting her head. "Did you want to do something after work? I... guess there's not much we can do around the city without risking getting seen by mom or Illyana or any of mom's friends... but I'm sure we can hang out at your place and play with James or something," he suggested.

Yoranda burst out laughing at Birger and Freja's responses to her words, shaking he head a bit at the two of them. "I knew I loved her," she said with a giggle as Freja walked off to get back to work. "Ugh. What an asshole," she sighed. "Thanks for stepping in, babe," she said, gazing lovingly at Birger. "I wish I had my damn lute or something. I'd play a song. Totally free of charge, too, you wouldn't have to pay me or anything," she said with a giggle.

Bastian ate quietly, looking at Vlora when she said that she hoped he wouldn't defend anybody who had hurt her family. He blinked, shaking his head. "Oh, certainly not. That, ma cherie, is what we call a conflict of interests," he told her, taking a sip of his wine. "And even if it wasn't a conflict of interests, I would never dream of defending anybody who had brought harm to you or your family. I... would be the worst boyfriend ever if I did that," he said.

Jerome smiled when the girl thanked him and said that he was a businessman. "Yes, I am," he said with a nod. "And you are a bartender. I may or may not have employment opportunities if bartending isn't quite your thing, but for now you should focus on determining whether these islands will be your forever home or not," he told her. "No use in getting settled in with a great job and a home if you're not happy with the location."

Isla giggled and shook her head, "Well I still felt it... glad you can feel it too." She said softly and blinked when he kissed her nose before wiggling it. "Mmm I would love to do something with you after work and you are always welcomed at my house. I can cook. I just went grocery shopping the other day. Also, you know James, he is always happy to see you. You baby stealer." She giggled. "You like pasta?" She asked.

Birger gently patted her head, "Of course I intervened. You shouldn't be handled or talked to like that." He said and leaned over and kissed her head softly. "I am sorry you don't have your instruments... but you still have your voice, right?" He said and gently rubbed her cheek before going make a drink for one of his customers.

Vlora smiled softly, "Good because that would def make you the worse human in the world." She said and finished up her wine. He was such a good guy. How now she had to make him really fall for her. "So... Bastian... Mi Amor... tell me your fondest childhood memory." She said softly and played with his hand gently.

Ingrid had to press the back of her hand to her mouth to keep from giggling. She dropped her hand and shook her head. "I am sorry, but I... really wouldn't want to work under an elf. Bartending is fine with me, honestly. I know how to work the system to get good tips and I enjoy the interaction with the people I serve. Sorry." She said and looked over to the inn and back at him before smiling.

Rhyanid chuckled a bit at the way she wiggled her nose. When she said that she would love to do something together after work, he nodded slightly. "That sounds good. I'll come over after work, then, and I'll play with your kid while you cook," he said with a laugh. He had to figure out what he was going to tell his mother if he went out, but he'd probably think of something perfectly reasonable. He still had all day to figure it out, after all. "Maybe James can do some sleeping and we can do some more kissing... and maybe some cuddling?" he said, his voice a bit hopeful.

Yoranda smiled as Birger patted and kissed her head, and she blinked when he asked if she still had her voice. "Well, yeah..." she said, narrowing her eyes and sticking her tongue out at him when his back was turned. Truthfully, she wasn't even sure what she would sing if she was just doing the vocals. She'd been at home so much lately and she'd been practicing instrumentals. She paused, looking at Birger again. "Well, then, should I sing something pretty or something fun?" she asked after a moment, a bit of a smirk coming to her lips. She knew of a rather fun song she'd been studying on piano - it was a very simple song since she was still learning piano, and she knew that a simple song would translate well to vocals only.

Bastian smiled when she said that it would make him the worst human in the world and he shook his head. "I wouldn't say the worst human in the world... but definitely a terrible one," he said with a smile. He finished up the last sip of his wine, looking over at Vlora when she started to gently play with his hand and ask him about his fondest childhood memory. He considered the question for a moment before answering. "I suppose you'll laugh at me if I tell you something along the lines of 'my first A on a test' or 'the first time I wrote an essay', won't you?" he asked.

Jerome blinked at hearing the girl's words, a little surprised by her comment about not wanting to work under an elf. He gave a slight nod. "I... see," he said. "Well, I apologize. Normally I'm quite good at reading people, but perhaps I was wrong about you. I really should be on my way, miss Pauling. The housing and employment offers still stand if you need them. Have a good evening," he said, giving her a curt nod before beginning to walk the other way again. Those had definitely been some ugly words coming out of that pretty mouth, and a somewhat jarring reminder of why he didn't socialize for purposes that wouldn't benefit his coffers.

Isla giggled, "That sounds wonderful, honestly. James would be forever happy with you if you played with him." She said softly. When he mentioned her son going to sleep and them kissing more and even some cuddles. Could she cuddle him? Could she be that close to him and not freak out. Isla looked up at him and blushed a bit. "O-Okay." She said softly.

Birger didn't get the chance to say shit when the regulars all at once said, "Fun!" Birger shook his head. "Excuse me... who is dating her? Me or you all?" He said and shook his fist. They laughed and one man, a regular since the day the tavern opened years ago said, "Well dammit, boy... you kept her away so damn long." He said and Birger frowned a bit. "Sorry." He said and shooed her away. "Go before they end up jumping me." He smiled at her.

Vlora blinked and indeed did laugh. "Yes... you are such a... a cute man." She said softly, "I do love hearing how this all ends up in a school theme. Let me guess, you got your first kiss in school... like IN school. And all the frisky things in school too?" She joked.

Ingrid blinked and watched him walk away. She had gotten rid of him but she felt horrid on how she treated him. She looked around before sighing and hurrying after him. "Wait, Mr. Jerome." She said and got in front of him because a man like that was bound to keep walking. "I am sorry... I didn't mean to come off so harshly." She said and looked down at her hands. "Just... my past has kind of... got me bitter a bit and it isn't fair for me to have treated you in such a way." She said and looked back up at him, her eyes apologetic.

Rhyanid laughed a little when she said that James would be forever happy if he played with him and he nodded slightly. "Great. Sounds like a date, then," he said, pausing and glancing towards the office door. "Now, I'm just gonna sneak one more..." he said before quickly leaning down and giving her a quick kiss on the lips, "and now I'm gonna get back to work." He chuckled a bit before heading over to the counter again.

Yoranda giggled when the regulars all said they wanted a fun song, and she smirked a bit when he asked them who was dating her. "I mean, I'm obviously dating you, but they all sure as hell pay for our dates, so I think they're allowed some input," she said with a laugh. When he said to go, she nodded, standing up and going over to the spot where she usually sat to perform. It was going to be weird singing this one without her piano accompaniment, but it was an upbeat and melodic enough song that she knew it would be fine even without music, so she took a moment to compose herself and then started to sing.

Bastian blinked when she asked if he got his first kiss in school, raising an eyebrow slightly. "Not inside the school. But... it was certainly at school," he told her with a smile. "Not the - ahem - frisky things, though. That... would be entirely inappropriate behaviour at a school," he told her, shaking his head a bit.

Jerome was walking away when the girl from before suddenly got in front of him, forcing him to stop. He blinked, looking down at her as she apologized and said that her past had her bitter. He raised an eyebrow slightly, somewhat intrigued as to what could have happened to her that would have her refusing to work under an elf. Rather than asking, though, he simply gave the girl a nod. "It's quite alright. I really should be on my way, though. You have yourself a good evening, miss Pauline," he said, beginning to continue on past her.

Isla giggled and kissed him back. She watched him walk off and went to take care of the tank. Throughout the day she checked on the fish. Apparently, it had something to do with the water since the fish got better in the lake water and she told her boss so. By the end of the day the fish were back in the tank and Isla was ready to check out. She got off two hours earlier than Rhyan, which was great for her since she could run and get James before getting a shower in for her and a bath for him. By the end of it both were clean, James was playing in his play pin, and she was dressed with her hair and makeup done. Now all she did was start to get the ingredients out while she waited on him.

Birger watched as she went and the regulars were eager. Freja walked up beside Birger and turned her back to Yora and the rest. "Do you really want to go down this road with that Garmold girl? You don't have to date her to have those babies. She is a child having children. You shouldn't have been so damn stupid, Bir." She said and he glared at her a bit. "I love her, Fre." He said and she laughed. "You are a damn fool... I am just glad father isn't here to see this. Mother is already so damn heartbroken as is." She sighed and walked off. Birger gripped the bar. How could he face his mother? It was simple, he wouldn't go back to her. He would show his shameful face. The regulars joined in with her singing, cheering, and laughing.

Vlora raised an eyebrow, "Oh at school, such a bad boy." She smirked and shook her head before laughing a bit when he said it would be inappropriate behavior. "Opps? Guess I am a very inappropriate person." She smirked. They were very opposite people. Where he studied she lived life outside of books. Not that it was bad, it was a breath of fresh air and he centered her down to earth compared to the men who were like her. It was most likely exactly what she needed in a man.

Ingrid blinked and nodded before turning around, "and it is Ingrid... Pauline is my grandmother's name." She said softly before she started walking once more to the inn she was staying at. It was probably for the best that she had been so harsh with the man. Maybe it was just her instincts kicking in and she was saving herself from nothing but a troublesome future. She had enough of elves ruining her life. It was time she stepped up and took charge. With that in mind, she decided she was going to stay on the islands and finally have a place to call home.

Rhyanid spent the day working, cleaning out the animal cages and washing their food dishes and the sort. It was a work-intensive day, but he didn't mind. It was a good way to keep his mind off how much he wanted to kiss Isla again. He said goodbye to her before she left, and then kept up with the work until he was done. He decided to stop at home first to shower and get changed, since his mother and the girls were going to be at work and wouldn't see him and his outfit was covered in animal hair and he'd been washing dirty animal cages all day. He headed home, having a quick shower once he got there and throwing on some nice jeans and a t-shirt. Once he was ready he walked over to Isla's house, knocking when he reached it and then stepping back to wait for her.

Yoranda enjoyed singing for the tavern once again. She had missed this, missed the way people reacted and the cheering and the laughter and just the joy in general that filled the room when she was performing. When she finished, she was grinning, absolutely glowing, and after the applause died down she started in on another song. She was no longer concerned about the lack of an instrument, instead wanting only to focus on pleasing their patrons with her voice and her songs.

Bastian smiled when she called him a bad boy, but he blinked when she called herself an inappropriate person. "At school? Vlora, goodness," he teased with a chuckle and a shake of his head. "I would understand post-secondary school, since you move away and live there whilst attending, but in secondary school..?" he asked, shaking his head a bit with a smile. He had a feeling that Vlora was someone who was going to push him outside of his comfort zone, which was definitely something he needed in his life.

Jerome was surprised when the girl told him her name - surprised that she'd lied about it in the first place, and that she'd decided in the end to give him her real name after going to the effort of lying about it. He glanced back at her and nodded. "Good evening... Ingrid," he said softly, and then he continued on his way. She was a lovely girl, apparently with a troubled past, and though he tried to push her from his mind, he simply couldn't. He hoped to see her again, as much as he was trying to forget her.

Isla heard the knock and froze, she really hope she hadn't been overdressed for this. She hadn't been on a date for around two years now, give or take some months, and now here she was. James had looked up from his toys when he saw his mother and began to cry. "Oh you..." She said softly and picked him up before going to answer the door to see Rhyan standing there. She smiled, "Oh good you remembered where I live." She giggled and let him in before closing the door. James blinked and squealed when he saw Rhyan, making grabby hands.

The patrons smirked and clapped when she was done. When she started on a slower and softer song, they quieted and listened. Birger listened as he filled cups. It was a sweet song and she had a sweet voice. He went back behind the bar and leaned on the back counter as he watched her. Freja moved over and looked up at him before her and when she was done she moved to go and get food orders.

Vlora shrugged, "You gotta do what you gotta do and if it means in the teacher's lobby, janitor's closet, classroom, boys locker room, and a bunch of other places... so be it." She smirked and shook her head. "I was... very active with my boyfriend at the time." She said softly and looked up at him, smirking a bit. "Be glad you didn't meet me when we were younger. I had a lot more fire in my spit." She giggled.

Rhyanid heard the crying as Isla answered the door, and he smiled when she commented that he'd remembered where she lived. "Of course I did. I've only walked you home, what, twice?" he asked with a laugh, stepping inside when she let him in. He smirked a bit at the way James stopped crying when he saw him, chuckling a bit at the squeal the little boy let out instead. "My little homie's excited to see me, huh?" he asked with a grin, reaching out gently to take James since he was making grabby hands at him. "Well, lucky for you, I'm here to hang out for a bit. We can play all you want, as long as I can kiss your mommy every now and then in between the playing."

Yoranda sang her song softly, and as she sang, her hands came down to gently rest on her stomach. She didn't even really realize she was doing it; it was just an automatic thing. She looked over at Birger while she sang, smiling a little wider as she saw him leaning on the counter and watching her. When she finished, she was quiet for a moment, looking down at her stomach before deciding it was time for something a little livelier. She started to sing a different song, one that she often played and sang when she was performing there. She decided to just keep on singing, to please the patrons until something else came up.

Bastian raised an eyebrow at her words. "I... don't think you have to do it at any given time. I can see other necessary activities which could be excused in such places if nothing else was available - feeding or birthing children, for example, or even urinating or throwing up, I suppose - but not activities of a sexual nature," he said. "I... doubt I could have handled you when we were younger. Perhaps, then, it's a good thing we met when we did - perhaps the fact that we're older and wiser and calmer is indicative that this is when we were meant to meet," he said softly, and brought her hand to his lips, kissing the inside of her palm softly.
