For those of you who weren't part of the last adventures. You were tasked with chasing down a Bullywug (frog human thing) who was pressing forces into small goblin towns on the outskirts of a different kingdom. This was supposed to be done by dawn of the next day. Through a series of accidents on a certain PCs part, the town ended up getting destroyed. This was taken as an act of war by the opposing kingdom, or would be. So you have all fled the town. ---

You headed deeper into the opposing kingdoms territory and managed to clear through a bog after being chased by your current kingdom's 'guard'. There, you found the bullywug leader you tried to find originally, and defeated him and a small lizard/bug swarm he controlled. At the moment, you find yourselves in a village at the center of the bog. Multiple bridges on its outskirts are demolished; only one remains intact. The village is empty, signs show that it was fled --- After we get our next player in here I'll officially start this off.

The bullywug leader lay freshly slain on the shore of the bog. As tiring as you all had been, your first steps out of the filth ridden bog were welcomed by the muddy shore of the small town. It was obvious the town was left abandon, items were strewn about the cobble pathways. It was only you all, the dead bullywug, and the empty town.

Seida walked over the to fallen Bullywug, still in her Mossy Fey panther form, as she looked down at it. She began to paw at him slightly, trying to grab what she could off of him. (Rolling Perc. = 16) ---

She is able find the obvious staff, there is a hint of magic crackling about the staff. Yet, it is not immediately known what the staff is capable of. When pawing at the creature, she bumps something loose, a parchment... Paws are unlikely able to pick it up.

Seida grumbled to herself as she shifted back to her elven form. She leaned over and picked up the parchment. (Rozwell is done)

Lytria skips over to Seida and tries to look at the parchment. "whacha got here, is it shiney, can we sell it for lots of money?" she asked before her mind seamed to wander off. She started walking down through the town, trying to figure out why everything was just so dashed abandoned.

Passing by a small market stand, bread and fresh produce has already grown moldy. It's clear the town had been left this way for at least a week. It was left with haste, though no sign of struggle or injury to anyone. Something tells you the Bullywug had only just gotten here as well.

Vaara "Stormscale" Kalarish sighed as she leaned against her sword, which was planted into the soft earth of the bog. She watched said, bog attentive to any sound that might indicate a sign of danger... Without looking back to Seida, she asked, "So, what's the parchment about?"

Agelion walked over to the next building, checking what would be inside, whatever or not the poor populace that had to leave this town had enough time to pack all their belongings, or leave them here. Maybe he would also find out more about the folk that lived here before...

The small home had been left open. Things were strewn about the floor, but it was clear that other things were missing. Quite a bit indeed. Whether they had time to pack or not was hard to tell. It was just simply stuff missing here and there. One thing stood out very odd. A buckler on the ground, it would be a normal buckler for all but one thing... It had an emblem on it a sword covering a red and yellow tower shield. The heraldry (mark) of Kariin, the kingdom who you were originally working for.

Aside from what the others have already found. You notice that the fog is growing thicker as time passes. Visibility being reduced to where you can barely make out the bridge on the opposite side of town. With the growing fog there seems to be a chill falling in the air. You can see Seida's newly found staff let out a small flicker of fire.

Seida looked at the parcment for a brief moment before noticing the staff she picked from the Bullywug starting to flicker. She held it away from her, and tried to study it a bit further. (Arcana check: 1D20+1 = 12) ---

She noticed from the fire that it had some sort of element of fire imbued into the weapon. But, just from holding it she can feel it has some force of power behind it. Though it's still not clear exactly what it can do. The parchment, however caught her eyes once she glanced again at it. Reading in big bold letters. "By the order of Venar Kariin the Great..." as its title.

Dear sir or mad'am this letter has been sent as a request to aid the kingdom of Kariin. You've been chosen to be the herald of a new age; we will greatly reward you. As far as we are aware you are slowling bringing your forces into a small village close to our borders. We would like you, and you alone, to venture as far away from the village as possible. You have one day to do so as we are sending down a small force to deal with the goblin threat there. They are under the impression that you are their enemy.

We would like you to lay ... A bit of a trap. For your cooperation you will recieve 100 gold and a set of passports allowing you through our territories as you wish.

Signed,
King Venar Kariin.

Lytria turns and skips back, grabbing the staff. "I know how to use it to magically acquire a nice amount of gold" she said happily, twirling it a bit. "but perhaps we should go find someplace less depressing. this place is starting to creep me out, like something might just appear out of the fog and start ripping us up into little itty bits and then devour our bite sized remains. no one would be around to help us. oh no, we would be quite helpless and most assuredly dead!" she exclaimed as she started looking about for potential danger, in a very paranoid looking manner.

Aside from the visibility lowering there seems to be no immediate danger. In fact, it's not even 'too' quiet. The typical belching of toads and humming of insects continues about as if this town was all but forgotten.

Lytria scowls at the town, seaming to be disappointed. "fine, just be a boring old empty village then." she says to no one in particular before wandering off to find a comfortable looking place to sit.
