"It's actually 'Takanashi', not 'Kotoriasobi'."
Mikado could be generally described as a "mother hen" figure, always fussing about the welfare of his Vocaloid partners. He has no problems expressing his concern for them, and will openly praise them for doing a good job. He's an overall nice guy, very sweet and wearing a perpetual smile on his face. Being the straight man, he encourages the Vocaloids to do the same and simply keep smiling to make each day a little better; His optimism is quite obvious, and sometimes contagious.
He can also be serious though, when the situation demands it. It's perfect for when the Vocaloids are in dire need of his management prowess, but him getting worked up on things like eating instant food could be something to get worried about.
Mikado is the eldest son of the Takanashi family and heir to their group of corporations, who specializes mostly on stock exchange. Ever since he was a child he was always taught on the ways of an heir, having a superb education and being pampered like a little prince. But like a hero in those soap operas he was fond of watching, he wished for a life other than the one he had. Mikado did not want a life that was already laid out for him, and wanted to look for another path that will also make him happy. He left the succession of the company to his younger brother, which in turn left him in a very strained relationship with his father, who did not expect for his "perfect heir" to betray him.
He originally wanted to be a teacher, but having finished only a degree in Business Management with a background in music, his options are quite limited. But the opportunity came to him instead, as the Ryuko Recording Company scouted him as a potential manager for the 2nd Generation Vocaloids. Now he's having an immensely fun time as the manager for the brothers Zeroshi and Tagou.
