Stephen's outward appearance is quite unassuming. With messy, russet brown hair and grey eyes, he stands at 6'3" tall, his lanky frame adding to his almost scarecrow-esque appearance. However, the scars on his back hint at a darker past. His customary dress is equally mundane. The vast majority of the time, he wears a simple assembly composed of a tunic, a hardwearing cloak, trousers and tough country boots. Those who spend a lot of time with him will note that he also wears a dull silver ring of unknown providence.

Items: Stephen carries with him at all times a large, leather-bound journal, several quills and vials of ink. Over the years, he has learnt that carrying a dagger whenever possible serves him well.

Skills/Powers/Talents: He possesses a high degree of analytical ability, paired with a powerful charisma. He is highly skilled at both understanding and manipulating others, provided they are unaware of his true motives. He also possesses a degree of magical talent, which seems to act as a sentient force, separate to Stephen himself.

Personality: Even to those that are close to him, Stephen can seem cold and aloof at times. He does, however, develop strong bonds with those he works with, trusting them and expecting their trust in return. He is quite determined - some would say almost unfettered - in reaching his goals, but is unwilling to sacrifice those who rely on him. To those who don’t know him, his personality is more fluid. Depending on the circumstances, he could appear to be a jocular, sociable friend or a terrifying nemesis.
However, upon encountering slavers or other similar groups, his personality undergoes a drastic shift. He begins to act clinically and ruthlessly in the pursuit of their destruction, shifting all other priorities to the side.

Weaknesses: Stephen is not exactly the most physically imposing of people, and is quite vulnerable to disease in particular. He also has a tendency to overanalyse situations, which can sometimes drastically derail his planning.

History: He speaks very infrequently of his past, and even when he does, only a small amount of information is ever divulged.

Extras: The scars on his back bear a superficial resemblance to those caused by flogging, but upon closer inspection don't quite match up.
