âI see Malcom, What do you know about this thing so far? And letâs sayâŠwhat if thereâs something unusual there?â It was just her hunch, but that amount of blood seems to be way too suspicious.
Scratching suddenly stopped, unpleasant if not dreadful silence began.
âWell, letâs see. Copious amounts of blood... sudden ceasing of noise after hearing us talk... Iâd say thereâs a few solutions. We can assume thereâs an Infected in there, unless weâre about to meet someone whoâs carrying around bags of blood. That Infected might have mutated. Swelled and bloated, and it might have just now... Well... burst. There may have also been more than one, and they mightâve just turned on each other. Thereâs a few other possibilities, but most are similar. I think if we go on there we should try and rush it.â He stood back up and put his book in his pocket.
âWhat do you think?â
âAlright, seems doable, so ready?â She looked at Malcom, awaiting his word, it may be a better idea to give him batâŠbut she wonât ever leave that precious thing with anyone, it saved her too many times.
âIâd give you a bat, but I think it may come in handy in my hands."
She smiled, handy in hands, that was rather desperate jokeâŠeven for her.
âItâs alright, youâre probably better with that than me. When youâre ready, Iâm right behind you.â
He took the knife out of his sheath and held it in front of him in a defensive stance. It was only one silly thing, he could take it. Right?
Something was wrong, insideâŠdarkness and once light came from Zaraâs flashlight, there wasâŠnothing inside, nothing alive or living dead, just blood everywhere.
âThatâsâŠweird.â
Something was very wrong about this...something they missed.
âWhat on earth?â He looked at the blood. There was nothing special about it. Just red, sticky, blood.
âWhatever was here is just... gone,â he breathed. He went over to one of the dressers and pulled open one of the drawers. Empty.
âItâs like something from the Shining,â he said, taking out his notebook. He wrote down everything heâd witnessed.
âThis will make for a very interesting research topic.â
She quickly grabbed him, and tried to pull him out of room. She didnât like this blood, she didnât like it at allâŠbut most of all the smell was intoxicating.
âIs it just me or is that smellâŠheavyâ She said, still trying to pull him out, but gently now.
Headache, headache came again, and she wanted to vomit. she ended up stumbling back outside and leaning against wall, forgetting about pulling him out, something she was in a middle of doing, just seconds ago.
"I feel...weird." she barely managed to say.
Does it affect him too, or is it just her?
No it seems not to, he was there longer...
OOC- I'm actually curious what will Malcom's assumption be...
âDeep breaths. Blood can be sickening to smell in large amounts. I also think itâs probably a somewhat bad idea to smell it more than we need to, seeing as itâs prinably got some of the virus in it. If itâs too strong, we can leave the room. This room is a mystery, but it might not be ours to solve,â he said. âOr you can sit out here for a moment, and join me again when youâre feeling better. Blood can be overwhelming when you really smell it the first time.â
âYouâre one of that few people, arenât you? Well, Iâll wait thereâŠâ She slowly moved out of this bloodied place, waited in hall.
Funny that my back burns me nowâŠwait my scarsâŠ
It hit her immediately, all this time pain was connected to what happened before.
âMalcomâŠcould you come to me for a second? I need to check somethingâ
âYeah, what do you need?â
Iâll lift cloth of my back, and you tell what you see, alright?â Zara wondered if it was somehow connected to her scars, but that would be nonsense⊠and yet she wanted to be sure.
âOk...â he said, sounding as confused as he felt. He didnât really know what she was about to show him, and he was almost a hundred percent sure he wouldnât like it.
âSo, what do you see?â She asked
âIt looks like a lot of scars and scratches. One seems fairly fresh. When did you get these?â
Malcom wasnât completely sure if the infection could be spread through scratch, but if thatâs what this was, he needed to be on high alert. He didnât want to die only minutes after being freed from that horrible room.
âWait, a fresh scratch, really?â She turned around to look at him, but ended up looking behind him.
âYou knowâŠI think we forgot about looking up when enteringâŠâ Whatever was behind, had to be different from what they saw so far.
OOC - Should I put some new enemy here, or do you want to do that?
Malcomâs eyes widened.
âYouâre right...â he murmured as he slowly turned around.
âWe may be in for something new.â He said as he held the knife in front of him once again.
âOh well, now I know what scratched me and scratched at doorâ Zara said.
Whatever it was, it simply watched them, not moving an inch back or forth.
Zara felt weak, and even if she had strength to swing, it wouldnât be sufficient to scare it off, or help Malcom.
âWatch out for claws, may be poisonedâŠâ Zara said, barely standing.
âWhat the Hell...â he murmured. He slowly turned around to Zara. âI think now would be a good time to get moving. Shut the door.â
He muttered quietly to her, terrified to startle the creature. He didnât know if that thing was a mutation of the disease, a whole new sickness, or something else. Whatever it was, his heart was pounding and he was horrified.
âBut I canât shut it, lock is done forâŠI broke door down, remember?â Seemed like they were in a bad situation.
Monster still stood, rather than attacking and simply killing them in most likely scenario, question is, what it is waiting for.
"Not to mention, trying to reach door may..." Zara suddenly fainted.
OOC - Why do you think it is waiting? Fun fact, I thought It would appear later...but whatever, possibly more fun for scientist this way :)
âHelp! Someone! A girl Zara! Sheâs unconscious!â He shouted words along those lines until he was out of breath, then leaned against the wall. All he could do now was wait.
Kay?
"Stay here for a second," Ayden whipsered to her. "Don't make any noises and you will be safe."
She did as he told and watched him walk further down towards the sound of the calling. Ayden approached but maintained a good good distance. He squeezed his crowbar tighter. "Who's there? Anyone? Zara?"
âIâm over here! Your girl, Zara! She fainted! Please come over here!â
He hoped the man would come quickly, and that he would trust Malcom. Malcom wouldnât trust himself if heâd found himself here, really. It all depended on who was coming for him and Zara.
