Academic and outgoing, Sam represents the ambition of youth.
Samantha, being academically-focused, never took much interest in boys until she saw the dark-haired enigma that was Lucas Fisher. She has been described as intelligent and strong-willed, with a burning passion for English. Her ultimate goal was to become a novel writer and, that being said, she hopes this school year will give her ample reason to write. Her strong-will has often gotten her into tiffs with, not other students really, but teachers. Her opinions are too-often expressed upon the state of the teaching-system in the US and she is never in a mood not to be controversial. She is not as money-driven as people suspect her to be. Having money is something that she appreciates and will never again take for granted.
Samantha grew up amidst a mixture of struggle and happiness, like most. Born to Nicholas Moreno and Loretta Soto, she experienced, first-hand, the hardships that come with excessive greed. Her father, Nicholas, managed to accumulate a seemingly boundless wealth over the course of Sam’s life. Being a property developer, he had struggled to define himself as anything more than a fixture in the booming building and property development industry. However, when Sam was eleven, her father was granted a blessing from God and, with a huge sale under his belt, he was promoted and the family thought that they had forever seen the back of poverty.
Samantha, being the outgoing person that she is, managed to establish herself as a rather popular girl in high-school. She loved everything about school-life, experiencing the better end of it. There was no-one she envied, no-one she did not hope to find a better side to. Having money allowed her to experience things that others did not. She had always looked to Kaylee as more of a liked acquaintance and, while the two never really spoke more than ten words together to one another, she felt that she liked the girl. That was, however, until Kaylee managed to start dating the one guy in school that Sam found interest in: Lucas. Samantha had always looked at them walking, hand-in-hand through the corridors with a face of green.
When it was discovered that the two had broken up after some strange trip during the summer, Samantha knew exactly what she had to do. After a summer of her father’s properties going into decline, Samantha welcomed school with open arms, knowing that she would, at all costs, get what she wanted: Lucas. If Kaylee got in the way, or any of her group of friends, for that matter, Samantha was willing to become just a tad ‘catty.’
