Koa was born and raised on the island of Pandora. She was born the second and last of the leader's childern. Being so young and being a women,she was taught to cook and clean and how to take care of a family. Everyday when she was young she would wait on the men of the tribe from hand and foot. But,when she turned 12 that all changed,she started to run faster and started to beat all the men,that when they found out her talent. Most women on the island don't get a talent but a few do and when they do they get treated with the upmost respect almost like gods. Being 13 she just loves life and loves Pandora but just wants to leave and explore the world if that means going to te officals then maybe that's what she'll do.
Also at the age of 13 her mother got fatally ill and could barely do anything. For months Koa put her talents and friends behind her,trying to help her dying mother. Everyone knew she was going to die sooner or later,but Koa being so young and naive they didn't tell her. Once her mother died just three months later she went into a deep depression,she didn't want to do anything but to stay in her room and for a month that exactly what she did. Yea,being the leader's daughter you get perks like getting to skip school for a month. It took her family until her 14 birthday to get her back moving and to be herself again. But,now she doesn't like to show her emotions. Not even her father knows what she's think only one person can and that's her brother.
