I looked over at him as he came back and smiled slightly/

There was an abundance of meat that had been left over from the previous night, so being resourceful, I dragged it out of where I had stored it. It was still relativly fresh, only a few hours since it had last been touched. The lion's share was already gone, of course, but he always ate more in the morning than he did at night. There was a hushed silence amoung the pups as the meat was presented, it was obvious they were hungry. Smiling, I decided I should be quick about my eating, lest they snap and try and eat before I am finished, or even go and try and find their own food. One time that had happened, two of the pups came back sick, after eating a ton of berries, one actually caught a rabbit, but ate all the wrong parts, and two of them got lost together. All in all, a good pup dosn't stay sitting and waiting long. I wonder which parent that trait came from...

I watched Krypt and yawned hungrily watching the pups.

Just before their little minds exploded in anticipation, I motioned that I was done eating, and licked the rest of the blood off my mouth. Watching them dive at the meat, scrambling to get the tastier portions, I went to the waterfall's source, aka the river, and had a drink of the clear, sparkling water. I dipped my paws in also, as to get some dirt out that had been annoying me for the longest time. I recollected the time it took me hours to explore the vast forest, just to find water. But that is before I became settled, with Night.

I watched the pups eats sadly. It seemed they where going to finish the food. When they where done and it was all gone I waited for Kyrpt to come back so I could go get a rabbit or something.

Waltzing back and almost wanting to sing a merry toon, I saw Night looking around with a not so happy look on her face. "What's wrong, my dear? Something amiss?" I asked, as I approached and stood next to her.

I looked over at him "Can you watch the pups? While I go get myself some food?" I asked softly.

"Why sure. Go get yourself something good, you deserve it. Take as much time as you can bear being away from us." I smiled, gave her a lick on the face, and walked over to the yawning pups. A meal and a nap always went together.

I smiled and loped off in serch of a rabbit.

I watched her go, then looked at the pups, asking each one what they wanted to do now. And one by one they answered. One wanted to sleep, two wanted to fight, and the final two were still hungry. The final two I slid the bones over to, and they began licking them to still their hunger. Of course, the one who wanted to sleep did, and the two who were fighting soon lost the energy to do so, and joined the one sleeping. Finally, the ones that were eating yawned happily, and fell asleep as well. What a perfect group of pups. What had Night been complaining about?

Whilst I was lying eating the rabbit peacfully a male throw mee pinnned me and killed me before I had the chance to yell for help.
