The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors

The female growled, glaring at Mori, who shivered but kept her chin up, refusing to back down from another wolf. She growled back, hers sounding tiny and puppy-like compared to the much larger wolf's. The huge female lifted a lip, and Mori could see that she was about to attack.
At least, she thought. I will not die by Aizyk's teeth.
Suddenly the large male spoke. 'Azzuen, do not. At least the little one is bold' He waved a paw toward Morte, who had sat silently for a moment. 'Her. Get rid of her' Aizyk moved forward and picked up Morte by the scruff, like a puppy, and moved to carry her away.

For a moment Morte was full or fear, and when she realized her sister was not following she lashed out. "Put me down!" She growled, snapping uselessly at Aizyk, kicking the air, trying desperately to make contact with him. Probably more out of annoyance than anything, he dropped her. She sprinted over to Mori and snapped "Go." Then turned her back on her. If Mori ran or not, she hoped she would, Morte would hold them off for as long as she could. Morte knew she wouldn't be able to survive this, or seriously injure any of the other wolves, but that was not the point. The point was that Mori would run, and when they were finished with her, Mori would be a reasonable distance away.
"GO!" She growled again, crouching near the floor, waiting for the first advance and her, hopefully, running sister.

Azzuen looked down at Mori with disgust, shaking her paw irritably. 'Must we, Scythe?'
Scythe glared at her. 'We cannot take down the Bloodlust pack alone, Azzuen, you know it'
'Then why not the other?' she growled, gesturing toward the trees where Aizyk had disappeared with Morte. Scythe sighed. 'We've been over this. Just do as I say'
Azzuen huffed indignantly, glaring down at Mori, who was completely unsure as to what she should do.

Aizyk said nothing. Morte didn't ask anymore questions.
She watched the trees past as the wolf carried her up through the trees. Eventually they reached a clearance, where the sun was again setting. It began to snow lightly, though Morte knew it would get worse. "What are we doing?"
Below them was a frozen over lake, it was large and very deep looking. The side of the cliff was jagged with rock shards jutting out in different places, Morte shivered, and not from the cold. Aizyk placed Morte on the ground, facing him.
"I apologize for harming you and your sister. She isn't fond of you, I can tell, but you very much of her. You must take your losses, and die in peace. You must forgive to die in peace. You must love to die in peace. You must be forgiven to die in peace." Aizyk said in a strong, unwavering voice. "You must be strong."
He looked into her eyes, and Morte blinked. "I forgive you for harming me, but I can never forgive you for what you've done to my sister." She looked into his violet eyes. "I'm sorry, Mori, I'm so sorry."
She closed her eyes, and felt the weight of his body shove her. She was falling through the air, it whipped at her face, pulling her fur and stinging her nose. "I'm sorry" she whispered. She crashed against the ice.

Until it ended.
She gulped, peering off the edge of the cliff to the frozen lake below. There was a large hole in the ice, as if - Mori gasped, racing down the mountain until she found a path to the water's edge. She slid toward the broken ice, trying to stop herself from falling in. A black body was partly submerged, and Mori whined, grabbing Morte and pulling her hardest. She managed to get her frigid body out of the water, dragging her to the edge of the trees and collapsing. She could barely keep her eyes open as she licked at Morte's fur, willing her to awaken.
She tried to stay awake, but exhaustion took over her body, and darkness her mind.

"Mori," she whispered, her voice hoarse and crackling. Every breath stung her throat. "Mori, I'm so sorry." She did something she never thought she would ever do, she let the blackness consume her, until the emptiness of the numb was gone. She knew she wouldn't die, but she let unconsciousness control her. The pain was to much.

'I thought you got rid of her' Azzuen hissed. 'I did!' Aizyk growled, stomping a paw as if in evidence of what he was saying. Mori felt Morte stir beside her, and the three wolves looked down at them with furious eyes. Mori sighed, opening her eyes again, but when all she saw was Aizyk's jaws snapping in her face, she shut them quickly. Hot breath rolled over her face and she refused to move, but again felt Morte's movement.

She heard someone moving, and then the warm presence was gone. Then back again, their was a pressure on the small of her back, and she realized it was probably Mori warning her to stay still and keep quiet. So she did.

'This time' she heard Azzuen call. 'don't bother with the lake'
Scythe nodded in affirmation, though Mori couldn't see. Azzuen stood over her growling, and suddenly Aizyk didn't seem so evil. She scampered over to him and sat beside him, pushing herself into his fur as if it could hide her.

"Run, and don't come back. If you do I will actually have to kill you. Now go, please." He nuzzled her neck, and turned around, his back facing her. Morte stumbled to her feet and ran.

'Well?' Azzuen said harshly. 'Take me there'
Aizyk glared at her. 'What if I don't want to?' he challenged. Azzuen's returning glare was like ice. 'Then there will be He'll to pay, Aiz. Take me'
Aizyk glowered at her, but agreed to show her the way. Making sure Mori was following, he led Azzuen to Mori's cave.
'Oi!' Mori protested. 'This is MY den!'
Azzuen snarled at her fiercely. 'Well now it's OUR den'
Mori glanced at her one-inch fangs and decided perhaps she *could* share her cave...
The three entered, and Azzuen inspected the rock chamber as Aozyk sat at the entrance to guard. Mori again buried herself in his silky fur worriedly. He looked down at her, and she expected a snarl or insult, but was trotters by the softness in his voice.
'Who are you, wolf?' he asked, without the normal icy edge in his words. 'Mori' she replied uncertainly.
'Mori who?'
'I... Don't know' She had never thought about it before, and truly had no answer.
'How old are you?'
'About a year, I think'
'You think?'
'I-I'm not sure' Mori stammered.
'I see' He turned to look into the cave.
'How old... Are you?' she asked, surprising even herself. He didnt respond for a moment, and Mori was starting to think he wouldn't when he spoke. 'Year and a half' he muttered distractedly, staring at Azzuen. She was stunned; shethought at least three years by hi size and strength. She studied his face as he watched Azzuen.
'Do you like her?' Mori asked. 'Azzuen? No. She's cruel'
'So are you' the young wolf pointed out. 'Not like her. You'll see'
Azzuen walked baxk out of the cave, seemingly satisfied. 'We shall stay here' she announced as Scythe trotted out from the trees. 'What?' he said stupidly. 'Our pack will stay here' Azzuen repeated impatiently, gesturing toward the cave. She led them inside. 'You two' she barked, looking at Mori and Aizyk. 'Go find more pack members. We need more'
Mori glanced uncertainly at Aizyk, but he was already heading toward the cave mouth.
'Oh, and Aizyk?' Azzuen called sweetly. Both wolves turned. 'If you lose her' she continued in her syrupy voice.
'You die'

When she woke it was still day, or perhaps it was the next day, Morte didn't know. She was starving though. Through all the excitement and her injuries, she completely forgot about food. She wished she had just sucked it up and had some dear. Her stomach growled viciously and she groaned. As if on que, a little squirrel skittered from the bushes, Morte quickly got up and pounced, snapping it's neck. She ate it in three bites, then returned to the tree and slept some more.
Again she woke, though now it was evening, the air was cooler than before and the sun was setting. She stretched. With all the rest she had gotten she felt better and more able. Yawned and stretching out, she must have looked like an over-sized cat.
She chuckled a little, licked her muzzle free of blood, and trotted back the way she came. If she couldn't show herself to the rest, she could at least see what sort of situation Morie was in, and to see if she needed rescuing.

'What?' she asked in a girlish tone, blinking. He shook his head, standing, then glanced up at the sun. 'You've slept too long' he muttered. 'Me?' she said indignantly.
He sighed. 'We'
Mori stood up, stretching and yawning. They walked quickly through the trees, searching for other wolves, for nearly an hour before seeing a furry tail disappear into the trees. The two bolted after the wolf, quickly overtaking it.

Bic// Mori realized the wolf she had jumped on was Morte, and stepped off, rolling her eyes. Aizyk growled and stepped toward her again, snapping his jaws.

Bic// "Rather convenient, isn't this?" Morte said a little nervously. Aizyk was growling a steady rumbled that became louder when she spoke and movement. She wiggled her way out from under and stood, eye to chest. "Um," she scratched her paw on the ground. "surprise! I'm not dead...yet, anyway."

'Dont' Mori said, blue eyes flashing. Aizyk glared back at her, unmoving, and Mori became nervous. 'We can take her back to Scythe, he'll let her join the pack'
'He won't' Aizyk growled, but picked up Morte and headed back to the cave, Mori trotting beside.
When they arrived, Scythe snarled fiercely as he saw Morte. 'I thought we agreed; not HER' he hissed angrily. Aizyk was about to speak when Mori stepped in front of him. 'She was the only one we could find'
Scythe chuckled. 'So the she-wolf speaks for the couple, hm?' he mocked.
'We're not mates' Mori hissed, at the same time Aizyk muttered 'Not a couple' under his breath uneasily, not wanting to contradict when Scythe held advantage.
'Anyway' Scythe continued, 'I suppose she could stay. For now'
Aizyk had dropped Morte a few seconds earlier, and now glanced around in a panic, unable to find her. After a minute he spotted her sitting beside Mori at the cave entrance. He shoved them both roughly into the den, all patience suddenly gone.

Scythe trotted to the mouth of the cave. "Morte. Come here. Now." He stared at her with his honey eyes, which seemed to freeze her in place. She robotic-ally slunk towards him, tail low. She dunked her head lower when she approached him. He snarled and swung his head to the left, gesturing for her to follow. He stalked into the bushes, his tail flicking impatiently. Morte followed quickly after.
As soon as they were out of ear-shot, he turn on her and snarled, "I though I told you not to come back!"
A fire blazed in her belly, all common sense evacuating. "I couldn't just leave my sister!" She spat.
His eyes blazed and he snapped at her ear, missing by only a centimetre. "I am the alpha wolf, stand down or you die."
Morte snarled again, but the look of seriousness and hurt in his eyes made her relax. She would submit. For now.

"Fine, you have my word." Morte said, "I will do nothing to aggravate you or your mate."
He snorted "Mate? Azzuen's my sister."
"Then nothing to bother you or your sister." Morte was slightly surprised at that. "Now if you'll excuse me." She mock-bowed her head and quickly scooted by Scythe. She lay outside the entrance and feigned asleep just moment before Scythe arrived. After several minutes Morte relaxed enough and was able to fall into a dreamless sleep.

'Aizyk!' she cried. 'You scared me to death!'
'Obviously not, as you are still alive' He smirked, sitting. A moment later Morte emerged from the trees. Mori was surprised - Why had both wolves come to see her? Though perhaps they were simply getting a drink as well. Somehow she doubted it. There was an awkward silence as she waited for someone to say something.
