Name: Luka Vedrana
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Image: Nationality: Serbian/Canadian
Policy: Hunter.
Strongest subjects: Mechanics and metalworking (includes some minor gun repair, but he still can’t build weapons or fix extremely broken ones. He has massive difficulties in making ammo, even with plenty of supplies to try with).
Description: Built like a board, straightforward white shirt and jeans, Luka is anything but an overstatement to fashion. Standing at 6'3 he displays burn marks on his arms from smelting, and one long one along his cheek. Not liking uncomfortable clothes, he chooses loose ones instead and often finds himself wondering if he ever owned more than one pair of jeans.
Personality:In short, Luka is comfortable with himself, and plenty self-aware. He’s not somebody who gets depressed out of failure or loss, but manages to forgive and forget incredibly easily. At the same time, he manages to talk about his flaws with a smile on his face, hopeful that he can still fix them but not usually stressed about them if he can’t (which is more often the case anyways).
Back story:Luka came from a very big Serbian family in Edmonton, where lived with four siblings, his parents, and his aunt & uncle. They usually weren’t too close with the community, but between each other they were all great friends. When the meteor hit, they were all hiding in their basement, and began surviving on their own. Being up north, the dragons were rarely an issue, so they mostly worked on being able to survive with little society left.
Unfortunately, adjusting to the new environment was difficult for him.
There wasn’t really a reason for it; he had no disorders, diseases, or imparities, and he was still a bit above average intelligence. His main problem was that he just never felt…well, cautious. He was clumsy on his feet, accident-prone, and rarely thought about things before he answered or speaks. He could forgive and forget easily, and rarely got aggravated or depressed, but it led to a lot of issues when his family needed to rely on him a bit more. There were a lot of mistakes he made, including bringing down the roof he tried to patch and breaking his dad’s car engine.
Time went on but one day when his dad heard about the Survivor’s Academy over a stray radio broadcast, he fixed up the car and drove him right there thinking that his son could learn the life skills he needed to learn for the world. Luka thought about arguing to stay with his dad, but in the end he knew he needed to work even harder on being able to survive in such a place, for the sake of himself AND his family.
The first thing he did at the academy was a private project, where he made metal bottoms for his shoes so that he could keep balance a little easier. It got him slightly interested in mechanics and metalworking, probably the two best things he’s gotten at. He still manages to break a lot of equipment and he has several severe burn marks and cuts on his arms, but he still works hard to at least be good at something so he can make himself and his family proud.
It’s just a shame the gentle kid doesn’t have the grades or results good enough to prove it yet.
