This role play will be starting in one week, next monday. All slots for charachters are currently reserved.
The year 3000 has come and the world is in trouble.
The government of the United States has become lax and complacent. Instead of preserving the country’s well fare and working for the common good they are content to rest on their laurels; collecting tax and letting their money pile up. Even the oldest of people can't quite remember when the last election actually was, even though the president has changed.
With the government taking the term laissez faire so seriously the U.S has turned into a sort of anything goes society.
Drugs that are illegal are sold in local coffee shops, murderers walk free among the masses, teenagers and children race cars at over 100 miles per hour on city streets, and about the only thing you can get arrested for is questioning the government, or possessing a weapon strong enough that it might overthrow them.
Right now the only thing stopping complete and utter chaos is the morals of a few good people and the remains of an ancient system.
But luckily for the world, that's about to change.
A teenage girl armed with her cousins vintage superhero comics and her parents banned superpower formula has decided the country needs help, and that caped crusaders just might fit the bill.
And that's where you come in...
Seven teens from the local high school receive an invitation to a birthday party for a girl they don't even remember seeing in the hallways. Forced by parents to attend the party they get quite the surprise when they show up. Though they're all very different they have one thing in common; they've all been arrested for questioning the government at some point in their lives.
When they meet the mysterious girl it turns out she’s just the socially awkward introvert from the back of the class. But, although her identity isn’t interesting what she has to say is. She shows the group something ancient; comic books. Then she shows the group something much newer; a serum created to release a persons “super power.”
The girl invites the group to stand with her as new superheroes to protect people in the modern age.
A brief overview of the plot…
So basically this role-play takes place in the year three thousand and is about a group of teenagers who decide to become superheroes like those they see in ancient comic books. They have their work cut out for them protecting people because the government does absolutely nothing but collect tax, a fact they’d like to change.
The serum/ How they get their powers
Occasionally the government will step in and enforce the law, whenever someone builds a weapon that could take them down. Suffice it to say a serum that changes a person’s genetic code to unlock their super power is considered a threat by the government. Luckily they were able to stop the scientists who created the serum and “convince” them to throw it out. Unluckily, the scientist’s daughter kept a batch, just enough for ten people.
HQ
Some super heroes have a bat cave; some have a fortress of solitude, we have a dumpy tree house. It’s decently big, has one room, and is furnished with a couch, a rug, and a chalkboard.
[b] The characters
All of the characters are in the local high school and they can be anything from a freshman to a senior. Keep in mind that it is the beginning of the school year. Also, I’d like to ask that you not make a character younger than 14 or older than 18. Please try to keep personalities and cliques different. I.E, if there is already one Jocko who is secretly self-conscious don’t make another one. Here is a list of personality types. Here is a list of SOME cliques.
For the most part I’d like it if you’re characters went along with the superhero thing pretty easily, as it is the point of the rp. But if one or two takes a little more convincing that’s cool. Also, if anyone wants to be a government spy just shoot me a pm, though I’ll only allow one in the group.
As a side note, I do have an idea of where this rp is going but any input via PM would be awesome. In fact if you just want to let me know randomly what direction you see your character going in, that would be amazing (but it’s not required.)
Super powers, and spandex.
Super powers should be original, and they don’t necessarily have to match a characters personality. Imagine how funny it would be if the tough guy grew pink butterfly wings…
Also, you’ll see that I’m going to ask for two pictures of you’re character, one as a normal person and one as a super hero. Neither picture should be an actual photo but any type of drawing, painting, or anime works. Their picture as a superhero doesn’t necessarily have to look exactly like the real person, because the reason they are wearing these spandex costumes is to disguise themselves.
At the beginning of the rp they won’t have their superpower just yet, and even after they drink the serum it make take a day or two for them to figure out what it is. Naturally they won’t be instantly amazing at controlling it. These characters are going to have to practice before they start leaping from building to building with no regard for their lives.
Trends and tech
This is the year 3000, so technology and trends have changed quite a bit. Now there are hover boards, solar powered cars, and holograms. Pretty much everything is a touch screen and cameras can be as tiny as a box of matches. Feel free to make up more technology as you go, but keep in mind anything more powerful of a weapon than a knife is banned to the general public.
It’s 3000 so there are new styles, trends, and slang. But, because your characters are teenagers they control all three of these things. So feel free to make this stuff up as you go along, and then call other character uncool for not knowing it already. (If their was a character who was always in the know about the latest styles and trends they could be the one to do this…)

"I gotta admit, I like Freezer Burn. But seriously, Dogboy and Speedy? You know the perfect name for you Sin? What did your ex nickname his dick? You get it? Cause you shrink to about the same size...okay I'm sorry. That was kind of lame." Lucas put down the comic and walked over to the chalk board. He grabbed the black eraser and started erasing the statistics. "Hope you don't mind Ron, but I need to borrow this." He didn't have a sketch pad but he had an idea. It drove him nuts when he couldn't draw his ideas. He grabbed a piece of chalk and started drawing. "You know, I kind of wish I had actually figured out what my powers were by now." He noted then licked his thumb and used it to erase a mark. "Costume design is much easier when you actually know what you're capable of." All Lucas had figured out was he got from point A to point B really fast, and had a tendency to crash into walls. But he was going way too fast to be running. Right? The image of his face was now drawn on the chalk board, a small strip of cloth was drawn on to cover his eyes. "That keeps the identity secret." He began drawing the outline of his body.

Blake laughed at Sin. "dog boy?" He said. He was starting to be him old self. he had no idea what had come over him. It seemed when his power kicked in, he had this urge to be righteous, and to be just, and all these other things he never did. It was like it was a different personality, not just a different form. Blake shook that off he didn't want to think about it. "I'll have to do some research on human-wolf hybrids. See maybe what I'm capable of." Blake said. He like the idea of making the costumes. All super heroes had them. Blake smiled. He didn't need a costume, nobody would know he, the little school gamer nerd was a Half man-Half wolf warrior fighting to bring down a corrupt and evil government. What he needed was armor, he could see himself doing alot of work at close quarters, and fur wasn't really the best defense. "anyone know where I can get some ancient armor?" He asked. he knew it was a futile attempt but he had to try anyway. "Okay then. I need some scrap metal and leather." He said. He thought of how it would look. He smiled at the thought. It just hit him, He could do the entire thing in his dad's workshop. Blake's dad made human sized manikins with clothing on them for clothing stores. Blake would simple make the costume with the computer program. As a matter of fact everybody could. "You guys know how my dad makes clothes? We could use his computer program to make our suits." Blake said with a smile.
Sin
Sin sat back down in a lawn chair. "Ok we are going to get costumes and names but do you have a plan after all that or are we just going to wing it." Sin still wasn't sure about this and then she herd Blake talking about some sorta computer program. "That sound super lame. Why would you use a computer when I have a giant closet. But what ever you guys can find your own stuff I want to go get my own." Sin like any spoiled girl had a giant closet with almost anything you could imagine in it. But the mass majority is all hoodies and shorts. She looked up at Lucas she normally ignored him and she did a pretty good job at that. "That was pathetic I could hear better jokes from my 4 year old cousin and he barely knows how to talk." Sin hates her ex boyfriend if she ever could get her hands on him!
Jamie
Jamie was running down the street in her soccer uniform she just had practice and there was no time to change.The wind blowing threw her hair she jumps over a fence now she is in a back yard. It only takes a moment before she jumps over the other side of the fence. She is back on the street running with ease not even breathing different. "Alrighty the party is some where over here I think." She grabbed on to a fence and peeked over "Not this house." She did the same to three others before she got to one. "Oh hey it's that kid that girl that sucks at sports." Jamie jumped over the fence pointing out Sin sucking at sports. "Hiya everybody I don't know if we have met but if we did I forgot!" Jamie turned around to Ron "Where's the food and drinks?" Jamie didn't wait for a answerer before going into Ron's house and searching threw everything. She came back with a small sucker. "So whats this party for again? Presidents day?"

Ron smiled, " I might just keep freezer burn." She was a little surprised, for once Sin had came up with a good idea. Of course, she may have negated it with "dog boy." She listened to the others discuss costume ideas and when Blake mentioned his dad's machine she piped up, "I already have some stuff for my costume so I'm covered."
Turning to Sin she shrugged, "I figure we can do some training until we all have a basic grasp of our powers. Then we can go out and patrol for petty criminals to stop."
Looking over lucas's shoulder she whistled, "Nice job on the art wor-"

Lucas was busy with his work when the new girl came up. He managed to catch a glimpse out of the corner of his eye but it took his mind a minute to register. By the time he had fully figured out what he had saw the girl was already gone, back into Ron's house. Goddamn she was hot! Lucas turned away from his art on the chalkboard and the girl came back with a sucker in her mouth. Lucas' imagination took a much more sensual image. "Anyone else wanna take a crack at it?"
"I got this!" Lucas spoke up without hesitation and walked over to the girl. He held out a hand to shake. "Hey, I'm Lucas. I don't think we've met." I'd remember a body like that. "You mind stepping outside so I can explain while these people do whatever unimportant stuff?"

When Sin saw Jamie she rolled her eyes. This girl was one of the only girls that was popular because people liked her not because she makes fun of others. She was confused why did Ron pick such different people. Sin hated most the people and they mostly hated her. Why was she invited. "So Ron what made you think of inviting us?" She knew that it was for beating the government but why this mismatched group. A nerd, a outcast, a wanna be gangster, a drama star and now a dumb blond sports star.
Jamie
Jamie looked at Lucas's hand she grabbed it and shook it. "You got soft hands boy.What lotion do you use." She followed Lucas outside. "So what's with all the slow pokes here. No one seems to be having fun." Jamie looked around the others seemed to be annoyed with her but Lucas seemed existed to see her. Maybe he saw her in a game and was a fan she knows a couple people that love her for her sports. But he seemed sorta odd oh well Jamie didn't mind she just wanted to find out what was going on in there.
Jamie
Jamie looked at Lucas's hand she grabbed it and shook it. "You got soft hands boy.What lotion do you use." She followed Lucas outside. "So what's with all the slow pokes here. Blake wasn't really paying attention to any thing. A new girl came along. Lucas offered to let her in on everything. Blake smiled. He knew Luke well enough to know he wanted in her pants. Blake then remembered something. he smiled he walked up to Ron. "Mind if i have a word with her? alone?" Blake asked sin. He motioned towards the door.
Sin shrugged and walked into the house leaving the others to talk in privet she was alone so she called up some of her friends to talk to on the phone. She told them about the party but she didn't tell them about the powers. Then she remembered that brainless blond didn't drink any yet. Sin ran back to the tree house and grabbed some she ran over to Lucas and Jamie. "Here love birds you can have a drink." She said mockingly and then handed it to Lucas. "Don't worry about what you say most of it wont register in this girls head any way." She then strolled by Blake and Ron again and went back into the house and just sat on a chair waiting for the others to finish.

Lucas walked out into the yard with Jamie, trying not to stare at her chest. "So, how to explain this...." Lucas tossed it around in his mind, still fairly distracted. How does one explain this. We're friggin' superheroes! "Well, ya see...." Lucas was interrupted as Sin walked by. "Don't worry about what you say most of it wont register in this girls head any way." Lucas looked over this Jamie girl. She did kind of have a blank, thoughtless stare. A slight touch of disappoint hit Lucas as he began realizing he was talking to the mind of a child. Despite her ample chest Lucas had standards. "You aren't the brightest lightbulb in the house are you?"
Adam Stryker
The piano was old, but still sounded fantastic as Adam tapped at the keys. Baldwin Grand from the year 1912. Classic. A gift from his grandparents for learning to play. Now he used it to captivate an audience of adolescents. "Sir! The voice was a woman's. She was in her early 20's. Long brunette hair. Classically attractive. Taking her wouldn't help Adam's social status any. So he didn't. "Your mother is at the door. Says she had mail for you." The woman whispered. She was an intelligent lady. Didn't really belong in this line of work. She should've been a lawyer. the world's loss was his gain though. "Thank you. I will go deal with he." He whispered back then turned to address the crowd. "It seems a street urchin has wandered onto the premise. I'll go deal with it. For now enjoy loud, repetitive music and the spiked punch." He glanced over at another woman. Older, late 40's. Dirty blonde. She wasn't as smart and picked the perfect line of work. This one had picked the perfect line of work. The lady pressed a button on a stereo system next to her and loud bass blasted through. Adam smiled, a positive reinforcement technique, then headed for the door.
Just outside stood his mother. Looked to be in her early 60's. Was actually only 48. She looked like she had been starved....and freshly beaten. Probably one of her clients with some screwy fetish. "Adam!" She ran towards him, her arms opened for an embrace. "Please!" He held out his hand and his mother stopped in her tracks. "I'd rather you didn't touch me. I know what you do for a living." Pain was strewn across her face. Honestly, Adam felt a little bad. Only a little. "You have mail?" His mother handed him a piece of paper and then started talking about things at home. He drowned her out as he opened the letter. Who still used letters? Anyone who wanted to contact Adam did. He pretty much didn't exist on cyberspace, except a dummy account for sending out invitations to his own parties, and only gave his cellphone number out to important people. Ron Denning's birthday party....Who the hell is Ron Denning? He couldn't remember the name at all. He was intrigued. Hadn't done anything to get in trouble recently. "-we really do miss you back home.'
Yeah, I'm sure Louie misses me a whole lot. He looked back up at his mother. "This party is today...when did you get this?" His mother fumbled for words. "Ugh! You're useless! Get off my property." Once again his mother gave him a hurt look. He honestly didn't give two shits this time. "Off!" She turned and started walking towards the gate. Adam turned and walked over to the basketball court. There were a group of students, all half way to wasted, trying to get a ball through an elevated ring. Adam had to admit he truly enjoyed the game though. "Hey Kyle! I've got another party to get to, can you make sure no one breaks anything too expensive?"
A skinny guy with red hair walked up. He was well built for his light weight. He was also the best basketball player on the team. Adam would bypass him someday. Unfortunately today was not that day. "You're already at a party! Who ya ditching us for. " Adam glanced again at the invitation. I honestly have no clue who I'm ditching you for. He thought He couldn't admit that out loud. "A cousin. I forgot it was her birthday til my assistant reminded me. Don't really wanna go but you know how it is with family."
"Aw man. That sucks. Well check ya later!" What a lame turn of phrase. Check ya later! Slang was so incredibly dumb sounding sometimes.

Dirty blonde. She wasn't as smart and picked the perfect line of work. This one had picked the perfect line of work. The lady pressed a button on a stereo system next to her and loud bass blasted through. Adam smiled, a positive reinforcement technique, then headed for the door.
Just outside stood his mother. Looked to be in her early 60's. Was actually only 48. She looked like she had been starved....and freshly beaten. Probably one of her clients with some screwy fetish. "Adam!" She ran towards him, her arms opened for an embrace. "Please!" He held out his hand and his mother stopped in her tracks. "I'd rather you didn't touch me. I know what you do for a living." Pain was strewn across her face. Honestly, Adam felt a little bad. Only a little. "You have mail?" His mother handed him a piece of paper and then started talking about things at home. He drowned her out as he opened the letter. Who still used letters? Anyone who wanted to contact Adam did. He pretty much didn't exist on cyberspace, except a dummy account for sending out invitations to his own parties, and only gave his cellphone number out to important people. Ron Denning's birthday party....Who the hell is Ron Denning? He couldn't remember the name at all. He was intrigued. Hadn't done anything to get in trouble recently. "-we really do miss you back home.'
Yeah, I'm sure Louie misses me a whole lot. He looked back up at his mother. "This party is today...when did you get this?" His mother fumbled for words. "Ugh! You're useless! Get off my property." Once again his mother gave him a hurt look. He honestly didn't give two shits this time. "Off!" She turned and started walking towards the gate. Adam turned and walked over to the basketball court. There were a group of students, all half way to wasted, trying to get a ball through an elevated ring. Adam had to admit he truly enjoyed the game though. "Hey Kyle! I've got another party to get to, can you make sure no one breaks anything too expensive?"
A skinny guy with red hair walked up. He was well built for his light weight. He was also the best basketball player on the team. Adam would bypass him someday. Unfortunately today was not that day. "You're already at a party! Who ya ditching us for. " Adam glanced again at the invitation. I honestly have no clue who I'm ditching you for. He thought He couldn't admit that out loud. "A cousin. I forgot it was her birthday til my assistant reminded me. Don't really wanna go but you know how it is with family."
"Aw man. That sucks. Well check ya later!" What a lame turn of phrase. Check ya later! Slang was so incredibly dumb sounding sometimes.
Jamie stared at the boy that pulled her away. He was having trouble talking Jamie sometimes has trouble talking to it happens some times. But then Sin came over offering some juice. "Get outta here drama geek." She said pushing Sin away. Then the question of Jamies intelligence. She just looked at him "Well I'm not the brightest I am probably the one that has been burnt out for two months. I thought this party was gonna be fun like games and stuff now I already have some soft handed tough guy calling me stupid. I thought you were going to be different form the others but you just care about my brain not my personality." She huffed she normally wasn't that angry but for some reason she was today. "Now I'll be taking that drink if you don't mind. I have a long run home." She grabbed it from his hand and swished it around. "What is this thing cause if its soda I can't drink it."

Collectibles

Starting today, I'm going to put up the first post. It looks like will just have to go without the sixth, and for now fencer seems to be A.F.K so we will also be without their character.

Thanks for letting me know, and for not jumping in without the time to do so. Fencer if you want to be a superhero you claimed the spot first. If you want to stick to the villain thing we discussed than the spot is yours justamisfit.

Going over my current commitments and time restraints I do not feel that I will be able to give such a wonderful Roleplay as this the proper amount of attention it deserves and as such I feel that I must respectfully withdraw my reservation. I edited Blake's Powers and made it a little more flawed, no body's perfect. and also i kind of like how he has two personality's. It makes drama and conflict, without anyone else. this should be fun.

The goverment doesn't do anything so Internet is still accessible. Basically as long as you don't try and overthrow them, they don't care. As for powers, keep in mind that the charechters will not be good at using them at first. I'd also appreciate it if your charas powers have flaws.

Quick question. I didn't notice any mention of it while reading. With the government censorship is the internet still accessible? And if so what kind of laws surround it?
