Earth

Bel yawned as he wandered the halls of the school. "Damn, its so depressing being at a school. And people say the inner circle is bad." He scratched the back of his head, avoiding students as they walked by. Hiding himself from them was easy enough, but having to pay attention to where he was going so he didn't knock one over was a hassle. He looked outside the window to see a girl with black wings flying away from the school, carrying a boy with her. "So, the hard-worker has already made her move. If I can remember correctly her name was. . . I forgot, again. Even after Azazel told me it over and over again." He sighed and shrugged, "Oh well, I guess as long as she doesn't expect anything out of me, I'm fine. Hell, she probably doesn't even know I'm here." He smiled and began scratching his chin. "Well, then I might as well get this vacation under way. For now I will try that thing called ice cream. Everytime they bring it back in Hell it melts before I get a taste." He chuckled to himself and left the school building, his stomach growling from anticipation.

Jonathan opened his eyes. A long drawn yawn escaped his mouth.
"Did I fall asleep?" he asked aloud, not to anyone in particular.
He was sitting on a bench in the park, mostly elder people walking around.
He looked at his crosswords... "Jeez who the hell invented the toaster?" he asked, laughing at the absurd question.

He then felt a nag, something was going on a little kilometre off.
"They are beggining to use their abilities... good, that makes my job a lot easier." he said.
He rose from the bench, disposing of the crosswords in a trashcan and began jogging towards the feeling.
In the distance he could see the school buildings. He slipped his hand inside his pocket, and quickly forged a pair of documents.
the documents consisted of, his pass, the state document giving him a scholarship as an exchangestudent and a check with the amount of 30.000 dollars.
He took them up, and looked at them. "Well, Trump Enterprises won't miss 30.000 . . . And the documents aren't likely to get investigated any further..." he said, with a triumphant smile.

He stopped at the road in front of the school, looking around.
"Looks nice enough... healthy enviroment... sort of?".
He let a hand go through his black hair.
"Wish I had something to eat..."

Jaden looked at Ami as if she had two heads--oh, wait, no, that's right, she had wings instead. He wanted to scoff and roll his eyes. How ridiculous could you get? He looked to a spot on the floor, glaring at it. He was about ready to give her an attitude-filled rant about how stupid she thought he was and why was he wasting his time here when he could be out doing something more exciting and, well, realistic? If he wanted to listen to a lecture, he would of stayed at school. He was just about to open his mouth, but paused as his gaze followed a shadow on the floor. He relaxed his stance, arms falling from their crossed position to his sides. Well, if his father really was an angel and there were these so-called power-filled shards inside him and Kemi, it would explain the powers, so at least he could be sure she was telling the truth about that.

However, that didn't explain everything. "If my father really was an angel," Jaden began with rising anger, "and some oh-so-important guy, then why can't he be here, huh? Why isn't he the one explaining this? Why isn't HE the one here trying to protect us instead of some suped-up...up...whatever you are!" He seethed, the shadows from random objects on the ground dancing behind him. "And how do I know what you are? Who were the angels fighting--demons? How do I know which side was good?" He glared at the ground once again, a deep frown settling on his face; his energy was draining, though, along with his anger. "Besides. If my dad was an angel, they're not on the side of good if they followed someone who would abandon his own children and leave them to deal with danger like this--if what you say is true, that is."

Jaden sighed harshly and ran a hand through his messy black hair. He paused for a moment before gaining back his vigor and looking Ami in the eyes. "I can't go now." He pushed past her, towards the door. "I need--I just need more time to think." He shook his head and continued out the door and out of the apartment to wander the streets outside.

Kemi looked around to make sure that none saw her healing ability. She smiled widely to herself then stood up. "Wait til my brother hears this!" Kemi grabbed her bag and pulled out her car keys. Walking quickly to the car so no one would ask where she was, she unlocked her car door and sped off. Now a million questions where going through her mind at once. It was hard to focus on one thing at a time, nothing was adding up to her. Right now she really needed to talk to someone about what was going on.

Casting a glance at her phone next to her she picked it up to call her brother. His voice mail picked up so she had to leave a message for him. "Hey brother we really need to talk about something!" She hung up the phone and sat it in her lap just in case he would call back. Kemi pulled into a Starbucks to get some coffee and look up stuff on her laptop. She sat close to the front of the window anxiously waiting for Jaden to call her back.

After a few minutes of walking, Jaden decided to check his phone. It had been on silent for school, but he was still a little surprised at having a voicemail. After listening to his sister on the other line, he shoved his phone back into his pocket, having no intentions of meeting up with her anywhere. He just wasn't in the mood right now. Still, she sounded a little urgent. Maybe she found out? Or maybe...she was in dang--

He shook his head quickly and continued on his way through the streets. That was ridiculous. It was all ridiculous. None of it made any actual sense. Ami was just some nutjob with a weird deformity and he was just some freak who could control shadows. Normal enough. That made sense, right? Jaden sighed to himself, knowing deep down all Ami had said was true. Right.

There were so many more things Amaryllis wanted to explain to Jaden, but before she even had the chance to stop him he was already gone. "I'll give him time to think, I've got a little to spare." She'd blurted out a lot of absurd, but true things and figured he would need time to process it all. For now she could turn her attention to another matter, finding the angels. She didn't want them getting the chance to talk with the two and possibly turn them against her. "I sensed one at the school earlier, guess I'll have to backtrack." Pushing off of the glass door's frame she walked inside and closed the door.

It was too bright and busy for her to fly outside now, so she opted to walk. "This may prove to be more difficult than I initially thought." Ami muttered to herself, thinking of her next step.

Her mind felt clouded as if she wasn't typing. Nothing was adding up and it hit her that this was a matter that wouldn't be on the internet. She quickly stood up out of frustration and grabbed all of her things. She realized that Jaden probably wasn't coming so she was about to leave. Kemi got into her car and was heading back home. She was speeding a little when she saw her brother walking on the side of the road. She slammed on her brakes and jumped out of the car. "You know I was beginning to think that you where dead! But anyways we need to talk seriously!" She had to stress her point so her brother wouldn't just walk away.

Jaden was surprised to see his sister arrive so suddenly. He jumped a little away from her, but paused and put down his guard once he saw it was her. He was still feeling angry and confused and frustrated about the day's events, so he couldn't help but glare at her ordering him around like that. Even though his feelings wasn't her fault or anything, and she probably deserved to know all he had learned as well, he kept his tongue held, not quite sure if he should share everything just yet. "What do you want?" he snapped, brushing her off.

Kemi looked like she was really stressing something, but...no, whatever, what did he care anyway? What if she already knew everything about their father? What she had always known everything and just never told him? What if this was a trick or a ploy? How could he be sure he could even trust his very own sister? Jaden suddenly backed away from her accusingly as if she'd just done something horribly unforgivable. "I'm not in the mood. So, just stay away from me, okay?" The realization of all this came crashing down. He really honestly couldn't be sure anymore. There was only one person he could at least begin to trust--the one person who had actually told him everything. He started running away from her. "I have to go--don't wait up!" he called over his shoulder. He was going back to find Ami.

Kemi watched as her brother looked startled at her as if she just killed their parents right in front of him. "Listen! I think that I can heal!" She yelled at him as he started walking away. Yelling a little louder than she wanted to she realized no matter what she would say at this point would make no since to him. Kemi figured that Jaden looked like he wasn't in the mood so she got into her car and drove away. Whatever was bothering him hopefully he would tell her about eventually. Arriving home finally she went into the house and laid down on the couch. Now was the time for her to vent on what is going on. Kemi wished that she had someone to talk to. She felt unusually hurt though from her brothers coldness earlier. "I guess hes going through a ruff time..." She tried to make an excuse for him, but it wasn't working.

Jonathan looked up at the secretary, smiling slightly.
"Yes that class looks nice." he said.
"could you possibly give me a list over the other students? I'd love to see if any of them live in the same area as me."
The secretary didn't even answer, but gave him a list with names, phonenumbers, etc.
He then went out of the office and down the aisle towards the classroom.
Outside the classroom he stopped. " they're certainly not here...".
He went up, and checked the student checklist.
"Jaden's missing huh?" he said. And his sister... That's got to be the ones..."
He then left the classroom, nearly unnoticed, because most students was outside in the pause.
He then looked an extra time on the list he'd obtained.
"I'll go to their home... That must be a good place to confront them."
He said, and went outside.
He then ran out to an unused backalley.
His wings then unfolded. A big set of celestial wings, shining brightly in the shady alley.
He then rose from the groud, while conjuring a map in his hands.
Invisible to plain folks, he began his small journey to the siblings residence.
" How should I tell them?" he wondered, while he soared high above the rooftops.

Jaden was so frustrated and stuck in his thoughts he wasn't paying any attention as he wandered through the crowds of the city. It was time people got off work, so there were more people around than usual. He merely brushed past them, ignoring their grumbles when he accidentally might of knocked something out of their hands. However, this proved to finally catch up to him as he ended up running into someone. "Sorry," Jaden mumbled, looking up to catch who it was before smiling at the sight. "Ami! Just the gal I was looking for." He smirked, covering up the nervousness boiling inside him by clenching and unclenching his fists at his side.

"Uhmmm... wow, human maps are hard to read... this might take a little longer than I expected." Jonathan thought.
"Good that my wings are only visible to humans at night, else I'd be in a bit of a ..." Jonathan muttered, trying to make out different streets on the map.
His celestial wingset slowed down their pace, only flapping up and down, to sustain the height he had.
He threw his head from the student list to the map, and opposite.
"I can't figure it out from here..." he grunted displeased. "I hate earth... give me a silver spear and send me on a demon hunt, not this kind of hunt..."
He dived down, landing in the backyard of a small villa. None was there, so he went out on the street, looking for a sign to show him where he was.
"T. M. Rove Street... I'm closer than I thought." Jonathan said, his voice reliefed. No long flight for him.
He started at a jog, and then crossed over the street, his mind ablaze. What should he do? Were he going too far?

Eventually he arrived at the sibblings residence.
"FINALLY!" He burst out, standing a little freakish in front of the house...
"What now? Guess I haven't thought this all through..." he muttered.
He walked up to the door, gathered the will to knock, then knocked on the door.
"I'm so much gonna screw this up... damn."

Kemi raised an eyebrow as she heard a knock on the door. "Coming! You better be apologizing..." Her words dropped off as she saw that it wasn't her brother at the door. Her eyes widened a little at the random man knocking on her door. She was a little skeptical of the man, but she didn't want to be rude. "May I ask what you want?"

Amaryllis had been walking through the chaotic streets aimlessly, thinking about what she should do next. When she first got assigned the job of retrieving the shards it was for all of the demon's benefit, but after being so close to it for so little time the demon couldn't stop thinking about it's power. More importantly, she couldn't stop thinking about how great it would be to keep it all to herself, to be the strongest demon. Ami really was only looking out for herself, and if that meant betraying a few of her own, well she could live with it. Hundreds of thoughts swirled around in her mind, but she was jolted back to reality when someone bumped into her.

"Oh really?" She asked, stopping and turning around. "Have you made your decision then?"

Jonathan looked at the girl who opened the door.
"Uhmm Hello. I'm Jonathan Light... I come from ... CIA." He started out.
"Uhmmm We've..." He trailed off scratching the back of his head.
"Oh hell I suck at lying." He then stated, nearly sounding disappointed.
"Uhmm this might sound wierd... But err... Have you heard or felt any kind of suspicious paranormal activity the last couple of days?" He asked lamely, but also with sincerity in his voice. A good trait about being angelic, people could feel your sincerity.
"That's got to be the one... I can feel the powers radiating, what an immense amount of power."

Kemi blinked a couple of times before she responded to him. "My name is Akemi, but you can call me Kemi. Oh my gosh I have been feeling something lately!" She was excited that Jonathan came right now she had so many questions. She opened the door wider to let him in then walked to the kitchen. Kemi grabbed a knife then walked back to Jonathan. Cutting herself on the wrist just enough to bleed a little she looked back at him. With a smirk she turned her attention back to her wrist and put her other hand over it. A little light came from her hand as she was healing herself. She walked closer to him and put her wrist out. "Can you explain how I did that?"

"Now... I'm not specialized in healing, but..." He started.
"Well, its a long story... but I can tell you, that you are in possesion of great powers, because of a gem, which is hidden in your heart." He said.
"I know it might sound pretty weird, but if you let me explain myself..." He added, as he stepped inside.
"I might as well introduce myself properly. I'm Jonathan Light, an angel..." He said, not certain how she'd react.
He went further inside, looking around as he spoke.
"Yes I know what you think, 'Angels!? wow I've let a lunatic into my house.' but that'd be just as insane, as if you could heal a cut in your own wrist. So please believe what I'm going to tell you." He said, looking at her, his blue eyes looking her straight into the face.

Jaden inhaled deeply, before looking Ami in the eye. He wasn't sure about much any more at this point, but all he knew was that he was angry. He was angry that his dad left him and his sister, angry about whatever war was going on, angry that they were left in such danger...everything. He wasn't even sure why. Somehow, he felt as if his powers were growing. He liked the way they felt, the way HE felt when he used them, and he wanted to get better at it. If Ami could do that and provide him with answers, that was good enough for him, regardless. "I'll join you. What do I gotta do?" he asked.

Kemi looked back in his eyes searching for a reason or some truth in his eyes. "For some strange reason I believe you. It's almost like you give off only good energy. I don't know I can't explain it." She looked at him as if he was speaking some cryptic language. She knew that he was starting to hint around to something. This was all relieving to her in some weird way. The first thought that came up into her mind was her brother. "Oh my brother does he have the same powers as me?"

Gabriel sat on a rooftop looking down on the city. ''Ah man i'll never find those kids and i thought this would be easy.'' He thought.
He tried remember why he even said yes to this objective, but couldnt recall the reason.
''Oh well might just take a nap. Its not like i will find them anytime soon.'' He thought while he slowly fell asleep.

The word 'satisfied' didn't do justice for describing how Ami felt at the exact moment Jaden told her he was on her side. She was that much closer to achieving her new goal of gaining unlimited power. "Walk with me, we've got a lot of work ahead of us." She started walking, holding onto Jaden's wrist and pushing the people in her way aside. Now that she had the boy on her side she had to do everything in her power to keep him there. "All you have to do now is listen to my instructions. There are a few more things I need to explain to you, but most importantly I need to show you how to properly use your shadowmancy. You should get some things from home, we can't stay here much longer." Ami didn't exactly know where Jaden lived so she slowed down to let him lead the way.

Gabriel woke up feeling a strong wind against his face. He opened his eyes and noticed that he had falled out from the building.
He made his wings come out and managed to fly up again.
''Phew. when do i learn it ? never sleep on the edge of buildings.'' he thought.
''Oh well better use my time finding those kids.''
He flew over to the school while shifting shape, so he looked like a police officer.
He went up to the principal's office and asked for the list of students.


Since he didnt know where to look, he had been over at the other students aswell, but he left as soon as he realized it was'nt them.
He came to the house where the siblings lived, and walked over to the door.
''This is surely gonna be the last house im gonna visit today. After sixteen other houses where people was visited by a cop, i feel tired.''
He shifted his clothes so he looked like a plumber, and knocked on the door.

"Well... I wouldn't say the same powers as you. The gem works like Ying and Yang you know. One white half and one black half."
"I'm in fact pretty sure that you got the white half... funny isn't it?" He said, the last part sarcasticly.
"But well, I ought to start from the beggining right? Uhmm let me see." He said, trying to remember something.
"Your father. Angelo was his name. Was leader of the angels. He, after long battles, obtained the gem. But! For some reason, he didn't mean that it would be a good idea to have it. Many angels disagreed. The stone gave us an advantage in the war. But your father was stubborn and hid it. As it seems right now, inside you and ... your brother. He ended up dying, not telling anyone where the stone was.
It took us quite some time to find out where the gem was. Now I'm here, to make sure that the demons won't get you and your brother over to their side. Because within the last month you and your brother has begun to radiate an enourmous amount of power, which both angels and demons can feel. The leaders of the angels want to make sure that you nor your brother falls into the enemies hands. That's why I'm here. How does that sound?" He asked, ending his long speech. But before she got to answer someone was knocking the door. Jonathan looked up at the door, not alarmed, but curious. Who might that be?

Kemi could do nothing, but shake her head at him. This was all new to her yet exciting at the same time. She had a feeling that something bad, and something good was about to happen to her. She ended up getting lost in her own mind. Her father an angel? Her mother marrying an angel? Questions flowing through her mind, and the only thing that interrupted her was someone at her door. "Excuse me." She casted a glance at Jonathan and walked to the door. "Hi!" Was all she said when she opened the door to another strange man. Was he an angel too?

Jaden nodded slowly, stumbling along behind Ami to keep up. Maybe when I get better, I can fight in this war and win it above angels and demons, he thought with a growing smile and a darkening gaze. Then I would get whatever I wanted. No more school. No more rules. I'd be the leader. He was snapped out of his thoughts by Ami telling him they couldn't stay there much longer. He cocked his head, expression and mood shifting. "What? We have to leave--to where? And..." his voice dropped a moment. "What about my sister?" Regardless, he began slowly leading her back to his home.
