Toby grinned at all the girls...who'd have thought a simple mug of coffee could be such a divisive subject? He noted Kyra's mention of being able to cook also. That was a plus! It was good to know it wasn't all going to be down to couple of people.

"Maybe we should draw up a plan to share the cooking...oh, boy, ignore that I'm sucking the fun out of being here already, hah!"

He dished up the food and shared it around, putting himself together a hearty bacon sandwhich. Ivy's suggestion of swimming seemed almost as divisive as the issue of coffee, and Toby was surprised that everyone wasn't entirely up for it. For his part, he couldn't decide what he wanted to do first. He was eager to know what else the house had in store...an indeed the island as a whole. But surely the most important thing was to get to know the people he was here with.

Still, he had to make some sort of a decision, and the girls had already all wandered off doing their own thing.

"Well," he mused out loud, "I guess it wouldn't hurt to spread out and cover more ground."

He stretched, letting his good go down, then slipped his hands into his pockets and made his way to the main door, which opened up onto golden sands and a broad, azure spread of the ocean. The gently, warm zephyr that rolled up the coast was like a caress on his face, and he had to laugh at how almost rediculously perfect it was. He was sure no place like this actually existed in the real world...were they even in the world anymore?

He walked a little further down the beach before he saw the red haired girl again, Xeina.

"Hey," he called out, "I think after making everyone breakfast we've earned a time out. You know, I think there may be more on this island than just the house. Wanna come explore see what else there is?"

And before he could say anything, he heard the mentioning of food and his stomach growled softly. Then his thinking went to one particular Asian girl named Ivy noticing his bare chest and greeting him in Korean. The 'Oppa' was hard to miss too, leaving his cheeks in a slightly darker blush from before. "Ah, ah...yeah." Come on, Tommy you can do better than that! "The name's Tommy...,"he started, but then noticed Ivy hardly heard him as she went to one of the other girls when they mentioned coffee. That...also sounded good right about now... Then he noticed everybody following them to the kitchen, he soon followed. He heard everybody talk about cooking, if they were good or not. He simply waved his hand, hoping to get someone's attention. "I know how to cook." He smiled sheepishly. "My mother used to be a chef and taught me and stuff..." Noticing they were already started cooking, he hung his head down in defeat. Damn my horrible social skills. He eyed the coffee, reaching and grabbing one. Taking a sip and sighed. He loved it black. Then noticing the pancakes, he took an empty plate and placed two small pancakes. Not seeing in syrup, he shrugged, too embarrassed to find any as he ate his pancakes quietly and quickly while standing. When he was done, he noticed the other Asian girl, not Ivy, finish her meal and walked out after another girl, I think her name's Xeina, said who wanted to explore the house. He was up for it, but embarrassed. He walked out himself, looking for the other girl who started to wander around.

Tommy was good at remembering directions, so every turn he made, he knew it. He could make his way back to the room he woke up, to the kitchen, or that empty hallway where everyone met at. Continuing to walk, he found that girl, who looked like she was lost. He chuckled softly and called out to her. "Hey, lost?" He felt a little less nervous since they're wasn't a big group around him. Plus, she's Asian like him. He always felt slightly better around people his nationality. He walked closer to her, but still a little ways. "The name's Tommy."

"Hey, lost?" Alysha turned and saw another man, Asian like herself. He started to walk near her, but the closer he got, the more she backed up. "The name's Tommy." She awkwardly grinned at him, trying to be friendly. "Annye- Heheh, e-excuse me. My name is A-Alysha." She started fiddling with her fingers again. 'Should I shake his hand?' She was very nervous now and she didn't really know what to do. She was alone in an empty hallways with a stranger. A man nonetheless. She wished she was more outgoing and confident towards others but she just couldn't break out of her shell... yet. She wasn't used to talking to people, especially males. She always got nervous around them for some reason. She tried to make small talk, but whenever she would open her mouth, no words would come out. She mentally hit herself, 'Babo! Why can't you be like any other girl and actually know how to talk?'

Noticing the girl's nervousness, Tommy felt better. Finally someone who's as nervous as me! He stepped back to give her space. He slightly heard the beginning of a Korean greeting and he gave Alysha a small smile. "H-hey, were you about to say a Korean g-greeting?" He tilted his head, his hair falling in front of his eyes. He tried to blow it away, but he failed. He stopped and ignored it, bringing his attention back to the other girl in front of him. "Cause if y-you were...Annyeong haseyo?" He brought visibly shaking hand to the girl, hopefully she would shake it. He was just as nervous as she was. Plus, he needed to work on his social skills. Especially with the girls. Maybe that's another reason why the goddess sent me here...not just for the hopelessness, but a way for me to forget Ashley... His dark chocolate eyes saddened just a bit from thinking about his ex, but he shook it off. I'm here to forget about her, not thinking of her!

(*Annyeong haseyo? - Good morning? They say it as a question in Korean)

Alysha's eyes lit up when Tommy greeted her. "C-could you p-possibly be Korean, too?" She saw him extend his hand out and although she was a bit hesitant, she still shook it. He backed up and Alysha noticed a hint of sorrow in his eyes. 'Is he unhappy to be here? Aish, it's probably because I'm so boring.' She averted her eyes to the floor and moved her feet, puffing up her right cheek in the proccess. She tended to blow her cheeks whenever she was uncertain of something.
She turned her attention back to Tommy again and spoke up,"A-are you o-okay?" She then cleared her throat, hoping that she wouldn't stutter too much. "If you want, you could go swimming. I-I know I'm not the most interesting person to be with, so you don't have to stick around here." She started to walk off to some random direction. "Have fun!" She told him, not bothering to look back since she was still kind of nervous.
'Hmmm.. I wonder if they have a garden.'

Tommy couldn't help, but actually smile at the girl. "Y-yeah, I am." When she shook his hand, her hand was small and soft. He pulled his own hand back and stepped back again for his and maybe her sake. She puffed her cheek out and it was kind of cute. He had an urge to poke it, but he didn't. That wouldn't be like him. "A-are you o-okay?" That brought his attention. She probably saw the small twinge of sadness in his eyes when he had thought of Ashley. "Aw, I'm f-fine. It was just...a memory from the p-past." He smiled sheepishly again, but pouted slightly. "If you want, you could go swimming. I-I know I'm not the most interesting person to be with, so you don't have to stick around here." Well, that was sort of erupt. "You're more interesting than me...h-hey! Gidalyeo!" He didn't want her to go, he wanted to talk. Yeah... He just wanted to talk.

She sheilds the sun from her eyes to see it was Toby. "Oh,hey. Sure why not? I mean there has to be more than this." She saids as she walks to him. "So which way do you want to go frist?" She asks as she shrugs her shoulders.

She looks at the ocean and exhales. "The ocean's beautiful isn't it? I mean it's one of the only oceans i've ever seen but still is so amazing." She saids as she put her hand through her messy red hair feeling that she has paint on the ends of her hair. 'Last time I wait til the last minute to finish a project in my art class.' She saids as she trys to get it out of her hair.

She rools her eye seeing that is not coming out until she washes it out herself with tons of shampoo and conditoner. "So where are you from? You talk a little..not funny being the word but i guess different." She saids knowing it probubly sounded kind of rude but you can't take back something you say.

As Toby was looking up and down the beach, deciding indeed which way they should go, he caught a glimpse of Xeina playing with her hair as if trying to get something out of it and smirked. Apparently coming to the island hadn't reset everything to perfection, he assumed by the slightly annoyed look on her face at whatever it was.

"Yeah really eh." he said, looking out at the water, "I've never seen the ocean myself, although I live by lake Ontario which is pretty much like an ocean when you're standing next to it."

He grinned across at her, and added, "I guess that answer's your question too, I'm from Canada. How about you? Seems like that goddess type person has picked people from all over. We've got the son of the British Prime Minister, an Australian girl, another girl from somewhere in Europe I couldn't tell..."

He turned around, still looking to see which way to head. The beach was beautiful, for sure, but something about the tropical bush appealed to him. It just looked interesting, and goodness knows what it could be hiding. Some more attractions? Or maybe a natural lagoon or something. He highly doubted the goddess of love would send them to an island with jaguars, anacondas or quicksand.

"How about further inland?" he suggested, "Could be some surprises that way, and I'm guessing the island's pretty safe."

Taking a few steps, he stifled a smirk and pointed at her hair. "Got something stuck in your hair?"

She looks at her hair. "Oh yeah, Well you see i'm getting me masters degree in art at Juliard and well I was working on a painting last night and guess i got paint in my hair." She saids as she gets the dry purple out of her hair. "There we go." She saids with a smile. "Alright let's go inland."

She adds as she starts to walk in land. "I'm from the Bronx,New York orignally but moved to Manhattan to go to Juliard a few months ago. I've been to London,Paris,Tokyo but i've never been anywhere else in the United States. Which is pitiful." She saids as she chuckle knowing that pretty stupid.

"So how old are you because the other guy are like 21 and in their 20's but you look pretty young for someone who needs help to find love. I mean what are you 17 maybe at the most?" She saids as she stops so she can put her hair back in a ponytail hoping there isn't anymore paint in her hair.

"Art eh? Yeah you seem the arty type. I think that's cool, but I guess you got a little reprieve from the work while we're all here right?" he laughed. He hadn't really thought about what being here meant for his own school work, and indeed his weekend job. Nor did he know how long they'd be here, or how their absence would be explained...but there didn't seem much point worrying about that now.

"I'm 18 in a couple months." he replied to Xeina's question, suddenly conscious that he was a little younger than the other guys. "Guess I've always suffered a bit of a baby-face though! How about you? If you just started at uni then I guess you're pretty much 18 yourself?"

They struck out up the grassly incline towards the more overground inland area...'jungle' if that was the right term for such an inviting looking area. The sounds of animals in the canopy above got louder, but the foliage was not so thick that it was hard to go through. Toby realised they didn't know what the others were doing...someone wanted to go swimming, someone else wanted to explore the house. Ah what the heck, he thought, it's an island, it can only be so big!

After Toby introduced himself, Shawn made his way down the stairs and towards the kitchen with everyone else

There was small conversing about who would be making the food, but before he could offer, others stepped up to the plate and he gladly moved aside to let them take the helm.

He'd smile widely at Toby's joke about him wanting tea, and laugh kindly at Xeinas attempt to stick up for him......but would purposely let the "Prime Minister" inquiry slide under the rug, as everyone suddenly became more interested in eating food.
Shawn however, wasn't hungry at the moment............and instead, excused himself as the others ate, so he could find his room.

*-*-*-**---*-----------------------------------------------*-*-----------------------------------------------*---**-*-*-*

After making his way back up the grand staircase, it didn't take long for him to find the mens hall, and then subsequently his own room, which happened to be dead last.
The door was white with gold trim and his name on the door was also surrounded by gold trim, similar to the office doors inside his house., which he always found a little too business-regal for his taste, but he shrugged his shoulders at the design and opened the door.

To say the room was beautiful would be an understatement.
Quite like his room at home, the walls were tall, the closet was roomy, the bathroom was grand, his small acoustic and electric guitar collection hung on the wall above his large bed, and the outdoor balcony was expansive. But unlike his home, he had a beautiful view of the beach...........which we admired for a moment, before placing his hat on the foot of the bed and then slowly undressing.
It wouldn't take him long to pick out a pair of black Form Athletic swimming trunks w/ red and white flames, a black WEC t-shirt and a pair of black Adidas sandals.

Once dressed, he sat on the end of his bed unsure of where to go....and much to his surprise, out of his pants pocket fell his Samsung Galaxy SII..
"Woah.....my phone?.....I wonder if i could catch a signal here........perhaps a little GPS guidance?" he thought out loud - taking a second to stare out of the balcony doors, before standing and making his way out of his room.

Within only a minute or two he had made his way back towards the front doors and slipped out of them.
The walk to the beach was brief, and familiar since he had to make a similar trek earlier.

Shawn would stop only a few feet from the tides incoming water before he held up his phone to the sky.and began to fiddle with it. But after several minutes it was obvious nothing was working......from the web, texting, gps......nothing. So after noticing his battery power was a bit low, he decided to stop trying....and slid the phone into his pocket.

He then crossed his arms behind his head and stared out into the sea, a place he loved to spend his time................it wouldn't take long for him to get lost in thought.

"Where are we?"

"Will this work?."

"Why did i sign that letter?."

"Are we missed at home?...."
".....or did this goddess find some way to stop time?"
Were all thoughts that ran through Shawn head, as he stood under the sun and enjoyed the nearly perfect weather..........warm enough to swim, but cool enough to not to be a miserable experience after half an hour.
The young fighter had half the mind to take his shirt off where he stood, drop his phone, and go for a swim......but before he could he heard an awkward sound, loud enough to scare a few birds from the tree tops.
"What the...." Shawn thought, before slowly making his way through dense tree foliage several feet to his right.

Nearly ten minutes later, he had finally made his way through the tress and out onto a piece of beach across the island.........where a long dock went out into the ocean.

"Bloody hell.......are you serious?" he said, as he made his way to the end of a dock, and up to something he hadn't seen in person for years..........a luxurious houseboat, sitting atop water at least a few hundred feet deep.

Shawn Quickly climbed aboard and began to nose around.
There were two floors, not including the roof-top.......and inside were three bathrooms, seven bedrooms, a few sitting areas, a decent kitchen, two hot tubs, nice electronics, and all other basic amenities any other "home" would have.

He then made his way outside on the boats deck, where a few table sets and a couple of grills sat.....in an attempt to see if there was any way to move the rig. But it was quickly apparent that it was inoperable, as Shawn noticed the lack of any engines, or steering room.
It was as if this boat was made to only float.........here...........for them to enjoy.......by the dock only.

Ivy was going to make conversation with the people just to get to know them, but refusing to be rude, she allowed their conversations to continue with each other. Xeina left for the beach and Toby had also disappeared. The other Asian girl named Alysha had gone. She was going to start a conversation with the shy Asian guy without a shirt, but he left just as quickly. She was left to play with her food as the others slowly dispersed on towards the beach and around the house. She felt alone again. She almost wanted to go back home and see her brother again.

Ivy finished her food and decided to clean up for everyone. Really not minding, she gathered the plates and rinsed them under the faucet. She hummed a little as she laid them inside the dishwasher. Finishing up, she grabbed a glass of milk and decided to explore like the others. She went in the same direction where Tommy and Alysha had sneaked off to, but ended up on the entrance to the other side of the beach. She saw Shawn on the sand carrying what looked like a cellphone in his hand to the sky. He put it away and turned the other way to the trees. "Where could he be off to?" she said to herself and followed with the glass of milk still in her hand.

She walked over the the trees and uncovered the boat swaying softly with the calm waves that barely moved the sand. She was feeling a bit shy since she hadn't made the best impression with him, jumping on him like a crazed girl. She bit her lower lip and lowered her body so she wouldn't get hit by the branches. Ivy wanted to make a better impression. Pondering how to do so, he disappeared into the large house boat only to appear on the deck where tables and grills were laid out for a dozen people party. Climbing the few rungs, she smiled cutely and greeted Shawn. "Hello! Shawn, right?" She put down her glass of milk on one of the tables. "What is this?" She touched the counter tops and then realized how stupid her question was. "Well, I know it's a boat. I thought the goddess would give us one since this is an island surrounded by water. It's quite big. Biggest one I have ever seen. Can we drive it?" She looked at him with big eyes having to angle for eyes upwards since he was so tall. The sun was getting in her eyes so she had to squint and shield her face with her hand. "Also, would like to go swimming? I don't trust myself alone in the water."

"17? That pretty young for you to find love don't you think? I mean aren't these years suppost to be before you settle down?" She saids as she looks at Toby raising an eyebrow at him. 'These years are about trying new things, not finding love but I guess I can't do anything about it. I'm just going to go with it and if something happens so be it.' She saids in her mind as she messes with her finger nails, one of her habits. "Well this seems to go forever. Do you just want to head back?" She saids as she stops for a minute to see how far it goes.

"And wait a minute, what do you mean I look like the artsy type. I mean I get that all the time but I never understood what it meant. So what's it mean?" She saids in a joking voice hoping he didn't really think she thought it was offencive. "You look like a skater kind of. Are you?" She saids as she shrugs her shoulders.

'I wonder what the others are doing around? Hm,maybe I should go back and go look around the house a bit. But I don't want to seem rude.' She thinks to herself.

"... Gidalyeo!" Alysha looked behind to see Tommy again. She was kind of surprised that he came after her. She kindly smiled at him and looked away. " Y-yeah, sorry if I'm awdward and all. I-i'm not used to interacting with p-people too much." Her eyes were basically glued to the floor as she walked down the hall.
She didn't mind the silence at all, but she didn't want to bore Tommy either. "U-um, do you know the way to the garden?" Then it dawned on her that they were all still new to this place so he most likely didn't know. "W-well, if there is a garden." Soon enough, Alysha was turning a bit pink out of slight embarrassment. She had no clue where she was even going. "Do they have a map?" She questioned, smiling to herself since she said a full sentence without stuttering. 'Hopefully, I could learn how to get used to socializing to others in this island. '

"Y-yeah, sorry if I'm awdward and all. I-i'm not used to interacting with p-people too much." Tommy waved her off. "H-hey, it's fine. I'm bad with s-social interaction too..." He rubbed the back of his neck with a small smile. "I'm really g-good at remembering places...I have a hunch to where a door's at." He put behind him. "Maybe if we check outside, maybe there will be a garden." He looked away slightly. "This mansion is already huge...Most likely there will be a garden." He tried to smile more, but it felt awkward to him. "If you don't mind, I-I can help you look." He went to bring his hand out again, so he can show her the way, but brought it back half way. She was nervous, so he wasn't going to do that. "I-I think if we find our way back to the kitchen and just k-keep going, I think we'll find a door outside." He tried smiling again. "It's worth a shot... What do y-you say?" Alysha found it adorable when he stuttered. She was glad she wasn't the only one nervous in this place. It actually made her feel more... comfortable. She gave Tommy a small smile and nodded her head indicating that she agreed to go back towards the kitchen.
They kept walking and walking until they reached the kitchen and went past it. Sure enough, there was a glass door leading to the backyard. She slid the door open and stepped out, taking a deep breath, smelling the refreshing scent of nature. Opening her eyes, she looked to her left and saw the most beautiful garden she's ever seen. Way better than her mother's which says a lot since her mom was a proffesional gardener. She excitedly ran over towards the flower beds and stopped when she saw a black and white kitty come out of a bush. Her eyes then widened in glee at the sight of the cute animal. She quietly crawled over towards the kitty and gently grabbed it, cradling it in her arms.
She started walking on her knees to where Tommy was and held the young kitty towards him,"Oppa, isn't it cute? Feel it! It's so soft." She grinned at him like a child recieving candy. She always had a soft spot for animals, especially if they're soft and cuddly.

"Yeah, to be honest I agree with you." Toby chuckled. "But I guess I didn't really choose to have that goddess person come to me...I probably tend to overthink things and figured she must have a reason. Especially when she spoke about never finding love if we fail. I mean I'm in no hurry, but the idea that it could never happen is kinda scary."

As they turned around to make their way back, he stroked his chin and wondered how to explain the 'artsy type' thing without causing offence.

"I guess I just mean you look like you're cut from a different cloth." he smiled, "You know, most people seem pretty much clones of each other these days. I suppose I just appreciate when someone looks like they might have enought of a creative spark in them to be interesting."

"I get what you mean by being alone sound scary but I guess I never put any effort in that "right" one and now it's back to bite me in the butt." She smiles knowing she doesn't sound like she's in college.

"It just seem kind of strange for people so young and ...well I haven't seen one person who wasn't attractive here. So? The way Xeina described the situation – the blind signing of a contract with so many unknown factors – made Toby grin distinctly. When you put it like that, it did sound pretty ridiculous. But then it wasn’t like anything bad had come of it, they were all together on an exotic island and so far seemed to be having a good time. He did wonder where the others had got to though...hadn’t one of them mentioned swimming? Another was exploring the house...maybe eventually they could head back in and look for an obvious common area where everyone would migrate back to.

“Yeah really eh.” He laughed at the whole situation, looking down at the soft inviting sand and setting himself down next to Xeina, close enough for them to be able to talk over the sound of the rolling waves, though the air moved with only a perfectly gentle breeze. “I never thought about it like that until now. Still, no going back now eh?”

He smiled and ran his fingers into the sand, feeling the dry warmth. “You’re right though, if we’re all here for...well, that reason you’d expect us all to be...hah, different I suppose! Maybe that’s the problem. Not enough people back in the ‘real world’ appreciate the value of ‘different’.” He added a wink at the end in reference to Xeina’s previous remark about being different.

“If I’m honest,” he replied, “most of my free time is spent figuring out what I wanna do at college! My problem is that not many things keep my attention for that long. Finding a subject I could study consistently for three or more years is hard.” He looked out over the water thoughtfully and chewed his lip, “Maybe that’s why I’m here too. Because most people don’t hold my interest for long enough. Never really realised that before either.”

He leaned back on his elbows and blew out a breath of air. The coastal sand was as comfortable as any couch or bed, and he was certain that it would attract the others out sooner or later.

“What kind of stuff inspires you?” he asked, “I guess art allows you to look at lots of different kinds of things. Must give you a lot of...intellectual freedom I suppose. Not being tied to any particular subject matter.”

Shawn quickly turned his head at the sound of someone approaching on the dock.........but he relaxed, and smiled, when he saw it was only Ivy..
"Hello! Shawn, right?......" she said sweetly, after climbing onto the dock beside him. "What is this? Well, i know it's a boat....i thought the goddess would give us one since this is an Island surround by water.....but it's quite big! Biggest one i have ever see......can we drive it??"
He just smiled at her multiple questions, and watched as she stopped for only a few seconds to squint and shield her face from the sun with her hand. "Also, would you like to go swimming? I don't trust myself alone in the water....."

"Well first, it is Shawn.....and if i remember properly, you're Ivy....." he responded with a smile "Second, it's what they call a houseboat. Very popular in certain parts of Europe, and moderately popular among the more financially well off in America.....& elsewhere. I've been on a few before, and my family has one.....but this one, well it's a tid bit different....." Shawn stopped speaking for a moment so he could hop up onto one of the outdoor bar stools ".....it doesn't seem to be drivable. But it makes quite the hangout spot, eh? and sure.......we can go for swim if you choose." he finished, before suddenly pulling his shirt off and throwing it on the bar counter beside him.....revealing his naturally toned chest, marked only by his cross tattoo. which sat almost parallel from his heart.
"I no lifeguard, but i'm sure i wont let ya drown........now if a shark comes about" Shawn sarcastically shrugged his shoulders......before laughing.
"Don't worry about that last bit.......we'll be fine........" he reassured her, before sliding off the boat and making his way to the other side of the dock........where he'd sit on the railing for only a few seconds, before for falling back into the ocean.....much like a diver would.

Shawn would be out of sight for thirty seconds or so, before finally appearing several feet back from the boat.
"You coming?" he yelled up to Ivy.

Ivy Park

Ivy looked down and about the boat. She would have to ask her mother and stepfather about this. They would love to vacation in such a wonderful houseboat. She laughed as Shawn went into the water and called her from below.

"I'm not afraid of sharks," she lied and shimmed out of her dress and stretched in her two piece bathing suit that exposed her flat white belly. She followed where Shawn had gone down to the water and dove with her hands infront of her, pushing off from the rails as if she was competing in a swim meet. She allowed herself to sink a little bit and then she broke the surface flipping her hair back. She blinked the water from her eyes and spotted Shawn.

Swimming closer to him, she smiled at him. "So tell me about yourself, Shawn. What's a good looking guy like you doing on this island?" She dipped her hair back in the water, floating on the surface.

She shrugs as she looks at the crystal blue sky. "I guess it does a little. just paint what i'm feeling like at that moment." She saids as she chuckles thing about her art. "You can go back, if you want i'm just going to relax right here for a while." She adds with a smile as she closes her eyes.

What am I going to do about that painting? It suppost to be turned in today! She thinks as she combs her red hair with her nimble fingers. She shelids her eyes from the bright sun wishing she brought some sunglasses with her outside. She listens to the ocaen crash on the shore as it touchs her toes. Crap, that's cold. She thinks as she moves her feet farther away from the water. She doesn't know if Toby is still there or not but she doesn't see the difference if some one saw her move her feet away from the water or not.

"This is so peaceful." She saids in a kind of hush tone.
