Dueling Atrium

Tyler drew his hand (6 cards) First i start off by playing rising air current boosting all wind type monsters by 500 decreasing their defense by 500 then I summon Nin-Ken Dog in attack mode (2300, 700) then I set 2 cards face down and attack your magician." Tyler said (2 cards in hand)

"Nah," Kamon said, patting the boy on the shoulder. "You're great, but there are people who are better. There's always going to be better people. It's through dueling these top-notch duelists that you become better. Besides, I'm sure it was just a crappy first hand."

The Ra Yellow duelist was doing his best to console the defeated Slifer boy, but he wasn't sure if his methods were the best. He was trying a pep-talk, but that wasn't working. He decided to change the subject.

"Listen, guys. I'd love to stay up all night taking you down one by one, but we've got class in the morning. I think it's time we all headed back to the dorms."

With that, Kamon turned around and exited the atrium. He was exhausted, having defeated two opponents in a single day. Upon reaching the Ra Yellow dormitory, he was greeted with hearty cheers from his peers.

"Thank you, guys, but it's time for bed. Good night!"

Tyle smiled and followed him as he heard slifer slacker mentioned again and Tyler ignored them what he lacked in dueling he made up for in book smarts he would show them he would show all of them. Tyler walked to his dorm and saw David in the bottom bunk "great now i have a room mate" he said to himself as he climbed up to his bed.

"fine then" Tyler snapped as he drew his hand (5 cards) and smiled he couldn't have asked for a better hand. "you're move" Tyler said

Dannie sat down in the growing mass of students in the Duel Atrium.

"Come on Tyler show her what you got", Dannie shouted at his partner.

"Wow, ever since I've been here I've never experienced a real duel before", Dannie said to himself.

Kamon entered the atrium with just enough time to see Tyler's Jinzo launch its attack. Dannie, the boy who had been with Tyler in class, fell to his knees in dramatic defeat. The crowd cheered Tyler, which Kamon assumed was just what he wanted. Now it was going to be difficult to call him a slacker; with moves like those, he could have been playing for Ra.

"Nice moves, Tyler!" Kamon said, jogging up to the boy, "It's been a long time since I saw someone dominate an opponent like that."

Besides me, of course, Kamon thought, smiling.

"Anyone want a challenge?" He asked the crowd, spreading his arms dramatically. Then, he saw the Ra Yellow girl.

"How about you, little lady?" He suggested, underestimating her from having missed her first duel.

The boy introduced himself as McCade, the one who had interrupted his challenge (and possibly his pick-up).

"Oh... uh... sure, McCade." Kamon said, activating his duel disk, sliding in his deck and walking to his position on the dueling platform. Upon reaching it, he turned around and sighed. So much for dating her... He thought sadly.

"Since I was the original challenger," Kamon told him, "I'll go first."

He drew six cards. (5 cards + 1)

"I play Shien's Plot, Shien's Smoke Signal and Swiftstrike Armor, allowing me to draw another card, search my deck for a level three or lower Six Samurai monster and if the card I draw is a monster, I get to summon it." (3 cards)

He drew a card and added the monster he wanted to his hand. (5 cards)

"I drew The Six Samurai - Nisashi, which means I get to summon him in attack position." {1400 ATK, 700 DEF}

The green-armored samurai appeared, clutching a pair of katanas in his hands. (4 cards)

"I also picked The Six Samurai - Yariza from my deck. I summon him, as well, in attack position." {1000 ATK, 500 DEF}

The dark blue-armored samurai appeared next to the green, spinning a chain with a sword's blade attached to it. (3 cards)

"Now I play a face-down card and end my turn." (2 cards)

(Why? And just to let you know, OOC's are supposed to be posted in the OOC tab.)

Kamon watched as, within a single turn, the McCade kid was able to bring out a monster with over two-thousand attack. It was a nice move, but one that wouldn't benefit him in the long run. He drew a card from his deck, hoping for a game winner. (3 cards)

"I summon Spirit of the Six Samurai in attack mode!" Kamon called, placing the card on his duel disk and watching as the spirit-possessed armor appeared on his side of the field. {500 ATK, 500 DEF} (2 cards)

"Now I activate my face-down spell card Three Step Opposition of the Six, which allows me - provided I have three Six Samurai monsters on the field - to destroy either all your monsters, all face-up spell and traps on your side of the field, or all face-down spell or traps on your side of the field. Say sayonara to your face-down cards!" Kamon called, watching as his samurai shot forward and slashed the face-down cards to ribbons. (0 cards face-down)

"Now, I attack your life points directly with The Six Samurai - Yariza, thanks to its Effect." {4000 -> 3000}

I never realized it, Kamon thought, But my deck relies heavily on Effect monsters...

"With that, I end my turn." He told McCade.

Emily sighed. A student picks a fight with a teacher, wins the duel, then suddenly gets a chance to be promoted because of it? 'I suppose if I go do the same I get into blue?' She thought to herself as she shook her head. Kamon was late to class so it made perfect sense why he'd be picked on by the teacher. Whether or not he punished everyone equally wasn't so much an issue yet for some reason Tyler went and stood up to the teacher for doing his job.

'If anything the teacher didn't even do anything but reprimand Kamon for being late!' Emily groaned in her mind at the inanity.

'Whatever.' she thought as Emily just sighed yet again.

She was especially confused with the duel between Kamon and McCade; Emily wondered what the hell just happened. It was Kamon's turn then suddenly out of nowhere McCade just stopped playing as everyone focused on Tyler's win with the teacher.

Then, for no reason at all McCade started dueling someone else.

"Does everyone just have a really short attention span?" She asked loudly, seemingly to no one. With an annoyed grunt she got up and motioned to leave the dueling atrium; the madness slowly getting to her. Emily walked out of the dueling arena back to her dorm, her heels making a particularly loud sound as she stomped off.
