Julie...it seems I have failed you.
Ken fell to the side, his head resting on the cold concrete. He had traveled into the Demon World, defeated the monstrous demon threatening mankind, and discovered that he was the heir to the Hanamiki Dynasty, a powerful demonic family that had once ruled the entire Demon World before its collapse. In the ensuing madness, his family had transported his fledgling essence into the womb of a human woman, so that he was born human, but with the powers of a full demon. Then, he had challenged Yusuke Urameshi to see who was truly the strongest delinquent in the Kanto province. His death meant that Urameshi was the greatest fighter in Tokyo, and that he had failed Julie...the other Hanamikis...and woest of all, himself.

Meanwhile, at the Black Black Club, demons were being tortured. The club's patrons were aficionados of dark magic who wished to demean and abuse the demons they had been taught to fear as children. The demons were always F or D class demons, those not powerful enough to break from their prisons and kill the humans who tortured them mercilessly. That, however, was about to change. The top part of the cage that served as the entrance to it from the Demon World glowed a bright green, indicating that a demon was coming through. Within moments, a shadowy figure was faintly visible.

The creature was humanoid in shape, and dressed in the garb of a Shogun-era warrior. His armor clanked quietly as he stepped forward, having regained his composure and realized who and where he was. A man in a tuxedo stepped forward, smiling deviously.
"Welcome to our Hell, little demon. Just hold still and this won't hurt a bit."
He reached out to poke the demon with a cattle prod, but with just the faintest of wind, he felt pressure. Looking down, he was horrified to discover that his hand had been lopped off at the wrist.

He was about to scream, but just then, the cattle prod he had been about to poke the demon with was sent through his mouth, where it exited from the back of his head. He fell to the ground, dead before he landed. The other club members began to rush at the cage, wielding their prods menacingly. The demon in the cage drew a staff, whirling it around before resting it at his side like a samurai with a naginata.
"I am no 'little demon', you human worm," the creature said, his voice a booming sound that halted the club patrons in their tracks.
"I am Kenshiro, the last of the Hanamiki Dynasty, and you insects have roused my fury."

With that, a single, blood red eye became visible from the shadows, piercing all who looked upon it with its bloodthirsty glare.
"I will show you what Hell is really like. Soul Shatterer!"
With that, time and space was halted for the club patrons. Within moment's however, they began to die. Their bodies twisted on themselves, heads were crushed in or ripped off, and blood ran in rivers across the floor.

When all of the patrons were dead, Ken approached the cage of a demon who had been tortured.
"Wh-who are you? I know you to be a d-demon, but your aura is di-di-different."
Ken removed the shogun helmet, revealing bright blue eyes and a handsome face.
"Worry not, brother. Your suffering is at an end."

He opened the cages, and the demons rallied around him, heralding him as their savior.
"My kinsman, return to your homes. Let them know that the dawn of a new era in the Demon World is fast approaching. The Hanamiki Dynasty will rise from the ashes like a great phoenix, and make our home a better place."
The demons left, and Ken smiled.
"But before that, I have errands to attend to."

Ken allowed his armor to fade away, replaced by his school uniform. He put his staff away and looked in the mirror. He looked human, which was good. His face when his demon characteristics were heightened was much more terrifying. Now, he looked like an average Japanese teenager, and could move about the Human World with ease. Right now, he had to find Botan and get her to take him to Koenma.

Before his untimely death, he had been a Spirit Detective. Now, in order to find Urameshi, discipline the rowdy demons, and find Julie, he would have to assume that mantle again. He left the club and began to follow his senses, trying to lock on to Botan's spiritual signature. Ken had to set things in motion, before things got too dicey again.

Today....Is Tuesday. And Tuesday....Is....Fajita Night.

Jay was crossing the street. New York Sure Was a town.

He had to get home fast: he'd just bought himself groceries, including some....Fajitas.

And it was Tuesday.

He needed those freakin' fajitas.

Eli was sitting in the corner sleeping with his sword leaning against his shoulder. His body was lifeless, only the faint rise and fall of his chest. "Help is on the way...... Help..... is on the way." The words kept ringing in his head. Infecting his dream like a raging virus. He like many other spirit detectives had died before. His however was different than most of the others. His death was one wasted on waiting on for the help he..... they needed.

His mission was simple, Kill a high value target and make it look like it was happenstance, then get out. What was supposed to be simple in and out turned out to be the last night he would ever see as a regular human being. Now he saw himself more of to the liking of a demon than a human. As a spirit detective he had seen some of the more, gruesome aspect of the job.

Eli's dreams replayed what happened. It was a calm night with chill that seemed to hit the bone more than the skin. The night seemed like it was hiding the stars from what was going to happen. That night Eli was leading a group into a rural estate. The kill and the set up went off without a single snag. Perfect execution without being seen or having to kill anyone that wasn't part of the plan. It was easy, almost too easy. When Eli thought about it. It was more than too easy, it a set up and he knew it in the pit of his stomachs. Eli looked at two of his followers, the fastest and stealthiest.Eli sent them out and watched them as the evaded and eluded what was turning to a mob of people coming for them. The last words he had heard from them was "Help is on way. Sit tight and we will come." But it never came and that rural estate became a his grave.

Eli snapped awake. The anger was coming back

Ken walked a couple blocks, attracting the gaze of many pretty girls as he walked. His bright blue hair and equally luminous blue eyes had always attracted members of the opposite sex to him. Considering that he was on the baseball team, which meant that he could not date, this had been kind of a burden. After all, what young man likes having the affections of several hundred teenage girls and not being able to do anything about it? But Julia was different. She made him want to circumvent the rules, to engage in the forbidden rituals of kissing, holding hands, and the like. His passion for her was such that he carved her name in his breakable staff, his most prized possession.

Of course, there was more at play here than just his good looks. Demons exuded a kind of aura that caused varied feelings in humans. The most common was a sudden, sexual desire, but the gender of the demon affected which gender was suddenly afflicted. Walking quickly to avoid being jumped on by a bunch of girls, thereby delaying his quest, he found an alleyway and turned his attention to the sky.
"Botan, it is I, Hanamiki Kenshiro! I seek an audience with Koemna!"

It was about ten minutes before anything happened. However, he saw at once a shock of blue hair and a pink robe. She was riding an oar like a witch on a broom, and her cheerful smile was infectious. She landed and approached him, getting much closer than usual to stare at his face.
"Wow, Kenshiro, you look great! It's nearly impossible to tell that you're a demon!"

"I know, I know. Look, can I get a ride to Koenma's? I need to speak to him about reinstating me as a Spirit Detective."
Botan looked at him with a quizzical expression.
"Are you sure? I mean, you were killed by the top Spirit Detective. Are you sure that won't affect your judgment?"

"I know what's happened to Urameshi Yusuke since we last fought. He's one of the Three Kings of the Demon World now. But my rightful place is as the ruler of the demons. As such, I must discipline my rowdy brethren, and divide the Demon World in a fair way, so that both of us can govern without interference. I need to talk to Koenma about that."
Botan motioned to her oar, he got on, and they shot up into the sky, disappearing in a twinkle of light.

"Wow, Kenshiro, you look great! It's nearly impossible to tell that you're a demon!"

Jay was just walking, much like Ken was, when he stopped, and leaned against the wall, hearing an odd conversation. He thought to himself:

"Demon!?"

"Spirit Detective?!"

"What the hell is going on?!"

Jay suddenly heard a sound he'd never heard: the zoom of an odd 'aircraft.' In this case, A....FLYING BROOMSTICK?!

Jay gulped.

"Fucking witch kidnapped that baseball star I heard came into town!" He thundered. "I wonder if she was hot...She sure sounded that way!"
