backstory/biography:He was born in Osaka, and spent a little over eleven years of his life there; His father a military man; born in Ireland, and brought to the states at a young age. There wasn't much to say about that. He was born to a military man who had settled down with a Japanese woman. It was odd being one of the few light complexion kids in the class room, but that's how the first part of his life went. Around his twelfth birthday. His father had retired from the military service, and decided to return to his roots; taking his mother and him back to Ireland. Where he lived until the death of his father. His first year in Ireland was spent working on his father's family sheep farm, learning to ride a horse, shoot a rifle; and heard sheep. This was a fun time for him; as was his schooling which driving in to town was a daily two hour drive. His life seemed to be going smoothly. The morning of his fifteenth birthday; his father was kicked by a horse, shattering the man's skull, needless to say his mother sold the land and moved them far, far away from the place.

Well Lucas spent the rest of his life in America, and the worst part of his life to begin. His high school years were spent being picked on, though this was normal for most kids, it was hard on him because he was a foreigner, it was hell for him. He spent most of the rest his school life learning to hide his accent. Though after his senior year of high school he had seemingly mastered it. Though at the dismay of his mother, he joined the military as well; feeling better about going and serving some years to earn money for college instead of depending on his mother. already frail and sickly from losing their father. His years spent in the service were. Well oddly easy. He moved through boot camp with ease, was one of the best marksman (though he'd never admit it) and was "one of the Scrappiest little pale fuckers" his drill Sargent had ever seen. His life was finally seeming to get better for him. Once he was fully a marine he began to feel a connection with his dead father. He spent the next two years in the service. When he took leave to take college courses he got an unexpected letter from his mother, she had met someone and remarried; and had gave birth to his baby brother. Needless to say this was two years ago. He visited his new step-father and mother, and half-brother finding it interesting having such a younger sibling. His life was beginning to change, though he wasn't sure for better, or worse.

Two years of college, and two years spent with his little brother now four. He was back in the service and off to Iraq. Though it did not last long, three years he was there; gunnery sargent now; and he was done with military service. Twenty seven years young. He felt the need to actually live out a life; taking time away from everything and just disappearing off the radar. He spent sometime in Australia, learning to surf and just spent his days relaxing. He finally felt alive, though he would never change anything of his military life. He just finally had realized how much he had been living in his father's shadow. He spent the next full year away from it all. When he returned to the states, and his family he found out that his step-father had left his mother; and younger brother, eight now and plenty head strong. He spent the next two years helping his family find stability.

Thirty years old, is when he met the love of his life; though to most people it would seem odd. She only twenty years old and him thirty. She a tattoo artist, named Mariah. Him; well unemployed currently. They met on accident. She had stopped here in the small town from New york for supplies for her craft; him, well he was just trying to spend time with his family. Well to say it was love at first sight would be cliche; and to be honest no it was not; they spent the first three years of their relationship literally just being nuts, though it would be a lie to say it wasn't full of a lot of sex. He was thirty three when he proposed to her; though she seemed to take forever in answering. She said yes; and they were wed within the year. His life was going great. That was until the accident that nearly ruined him. They now resided in Boston, and would take trips to Kansas for holiday visits. Well unfortunately his brother wanted to actually spend time with Lucas. Which he could not deny him, they spoke to their mother and it was allowed, which he took his little brother on a trip to rock-climb, needless to say it was harmless at first, but half way up, his brother was so enthralled with him. Lucas couldn't help but show off; this led to his brothers death, the rope had snapped and, well Lucas has literally blocked the rest from his mind.

He returned to his mother, with the mangled corpse of a thirteen year old boy, and his mother died one week after the funeral. His life had taken a turn for the worse, even with Mariah's love it was still; not enough. That was until the news, she was pregnant. His life made a complete one eighty, and he was happy again; Four months into their marriage, and her pregnancy disaster struck, and his depression came back tenfold; She had miscarried. Well needless to say; he needed to find an outlet, and one that Mariah did not agree with; He joined the swat team; finding some contentment in holding a rifle in his hands again. Thus the story begins of how he got put on the island, with his wife in tow.
