Character Bio

Name: Zack Miller

Physical Description.
Gender: Male
Height: 6' 2"
Build: Muscled
Hair: Black, long, covers eyes completely
Eyes: Black, with a faint ring of silver around the pupils
Skin: Tan
Other: Makes no movement without a reason, stays still a lot of the time. Eyes always moving, to take in everything around him.

Personality Description.
Quiet, keeps to himself, but extremely observant. Suffers from schizophrenia, a personality disorder and is constantly conversing with personalities inside his own head. Rather than believing it's an affliction, he revels secretly in it, and it's made him become somewhat of a sociopath. People mean nothing more to him than tools, and outlets of anger, frustration, or sexual desire. He does what he does because he wants to. No other reason. If he does not wish to do something, he will not, and there is no force on this earth that can force him to do anything he doesn't desire.

Other.
Zack is a werewolf, atypical from those portrayed in Hollywood. He's able to change at a whim, without any lunar intervention. He's able to control the amount his body changes, from just a slight increase in height, muscle mass and claws, to a raging gargantuan beast. At all times, his senses of sight, smell, touch, hearing and intuition are extremely heightened. He is almost impossible to wound permanently, for his body heals at an incredibly quick rate, being able to seal a mortal wound in moments, without leaving the hint of a scar, when it would kill a human. In contrast to the Hollywood interpretation, a bite from him would not infect another, only sharing a very large amount of his blood, directly into the receivers veins would cause the change. He also smokes.

-This is boring.-
[I know.]
-Find something more interesting.-
[I need money.]
-Well.. Fuck, find a job that's less fucking boring.-
[Shut the fuck up.]

Zack was half bent over a table, wiping one of his assigned tables with a rag, cleaning it up for the next mundane and boring human to gorge themselves on grease and lard. It was a boring job, but it paid for smokes and gave him food to eat. Paid the rent on his shitty apartment, too.

Either way, he had to do it. So he was doing it. Cause he wanted money.

-We haven't seen a girl in a few days... Getting edgy.-
[I know... I'm getting edgy, too. I miss the smell of their sweat.]
-And fear.-
[And blood.]
-Can't forget the blood... far too sweet--
[ - and satisfying - ]
- - to forget.-
[I'll keep my eye out for another one.]
-Make sure she smells sweet.-
[Very sweet.]
-Thank you.-
[Welcome.]
-Smoke?-
[Yes, that would be nice, about now.]

Zack finished off the table, and pulled a pack of Marlboros from his pocket, pulling a stick out and fitting it between his lips. He didn't bother telling anyone where he was going; they figured by now. He replaced his pack and withdrew a lighter from the same pocket and lit the end, sucking in some sweet smoke right to the depths of his lungs. He closed his eyes as the nicotine high slowly started to fog his perception and replaced his lighter, tilting his head back against the brick of the outside of the diner. He took another several drags and lowered it from his lips, reveling in the nicotine in his veins.

Tanya sat on an old wooden bench placed just outside of the college door rooms, across the street from the old diner. She sat up, her back rigid, her hands placed neatly in her lap and her eyes open staring off into the distance. Her sapphire eyes were glazed over, blinded by the images that flashed before them. Minutes went by and Tanya never blinked, trying to piece together the pictures before her. The bell tower rang in behind her from the eastside of campus, pulling her from her dream like state. She blinked a few times, bringing moisture to her now dry eyes and flipped her hood down off of her head, her slender fingers lingering sems. She reached down into her pocket to pull out her assignment sheet. At the top of the unusually white paper, it read in bold New Times Roman, "Dorm Room 23".

~Mary Jane~

Something was chasing her. It was predator, and she was prey. She gasped and panted and ran, a primal fear driving her onwards. She didn't know what it was, or what it looked like, but it was evil. She just knew somehow. Without seeing it, she knew. It was dark but she could hear it. She could feel it's hot breath upon her neck, smelled the meat and blood upon its tongue...
Mary Jane started awake, a cold sweat making the sheets stick to her body and her hair damp. With a groan, she kicked at the tangle of blankets until cool air hit her fevered flesh. She lay there for a moment, trying to remember her bad dream, but it remained as insubstantial and untouchable as a cloud. This was the third day in a row she'd had bad dreams. Probably because of all the junk food she'd been eating lately.
'No more junk food', she promised herself.
Rolling over, Mary Jane's eyes found the empty bed on the other side of the room. The plain white mattress seemed raw and stark. Over the past few weeks, Mary Jane had gotten used to sharing her living space. It'd been nice, actually, having someone there to talk to, or even just be around. Being an only child, Mary Jane never had the experience of sharing a room or even a house with someone her own age. She missed Sarah.
Sarah had been her room mate, an outgoing girl who's personality and backround was very different from her own. Neverless, they'd gotten along splendidly. Sarah had been her first friend. But then Sarah had transferred to another college and Mary Jane had the room to herself again. It was lonely.
Slowly, still groggy from sleep, she remembered that today she was getting a new room mate. Or so the dorm advisor had told her. She smiled softly at the thought, hoping she and her new roomie would get along as well as she and Sarah had.

Zack took another drag of his Red, a deep one, and looked around slowly. Heartbeats were everywhere; frantic and darting, dull and morose, and every rhythm in between. The diner he worked at was just on campus to the big college around, and there were every kind of student here imaginable. There were the innocent women, and there were the whore women. Jock bros and emo poets. Nerds and geeks, bitches and snobs, cheerleaders and chess leaders.

Which meant there was a woman for every whim of the taste bud, every fancy of desire.

[What about her?]
His eyes scanned a tramp in a high skirt, fishnet legging and a low cut shirt emphasizing her body fabulously.
-I don't want syphilis.-
[Hrm.]
-Her?-
An intellect type caught his eye for a moment, holding her books close to her chest, like it was the only thing keeping her heart from slipping onto the side walk.
-Innocent, naive. Perfectly corruptible. Her blood would taste pure and sweet. Along with the rest of her anatomy...-
[Perhaps... It'd be a nice change from our last few catches. Imagine her screams...]
-I promise you, they'll be audible ecstasy.-
[Indeed... Shall we?]
-We shall.-
"After you..." Zack whispered to himself quietly, barely audible as he took the last drag of his cigarette, the heating filter burning his lips in protest, before he tossed it to the ground, extinguishing it with his heel. He took a step forward toward his prey, inhaling her sweet scent.
His mouth began to water.
[Bon appetit.]

~Tanya~

Tanya's hands were placed in her jacket pockets, balled up in tiny fists as she walked down the stone covered path to the dorm rooms. She enjoyed moving from place to place, it allowed her to see new things. But it was the fact that she had to make new friends that bothered her. Tanya sighed and shook her head, sqinting her eyes as she looked up at the sun through the branched of the trees. All of the sudden the world went white, and Tanya backed up, her arms searching for something to hold onto. The image of a young girl ran through Tanya's mind. She was running for her life, she seemed to be being followed by a predator. She saw the raising of a fist above the girl, someone peaking around the corner and watching the act. Moments later, images of police and crowds of people flooded her mind. And finally, the splattering of blood against the street.
Tanya gripped onto the tree she was leaning against. She blinked her eyes a few times and searched the area around her. Her vision was about to come true, she needed to find it's source, now. Across the street, a young girl walked, her books clung to her chest and her head low, watching her feet. This was the girl from her vision! Tanya sprinted across the path to reach the girl, hoping that she wouldn't be too late.

Zack stopped in mid-stride, his eyes catching a woman dart frantically over to his intended prey, a knowledge in her eyes he did not enjoy. He moved off to the side, seamlessly moving in another direction, as if it was his intended purpose the entire time. He reached for another cigarette.

[Something doesn't feel right.]
-She looked scared. And self-righteous. Like trying to move someone out of the way of a car, coming towards them.]
[Do you think she suspects?]
-I don't know.-
[How could she? Impossible.]
-I don't fucking know. I don't like the way this feels.-
[Whatever. I want my meal.]
-Just wait.-
[Patience is wearing thin.]

Tanya stopped abruptly when she reached the street. The girl walked away, down the corner and out of sight. Whatever Tanya had done made the vision change. Maybe the predator had seen her coming and didn't want to risk the chances. She scanned the area around her and only spotted the a man across the street. He looked like a worker at the diner, just smoking his cig. He didn't look very guilty, so she continued to scan the area, standing tall to not make herself seem weak or to draw attention to herself.

-Kill her.-
[Planning on it.]
-She doesn't smell right.-
[Not at all.]
-Kill her, and then we'll get on to a catch.-
[Good deal.]

Zack blew a smoke ring and walked slowly up to the interference, the human trying to appear strong and confident, yet only failing as a chipmunk might stand tall against a wolf. It was funny, actually.

"Hello, miss." He said quietly, taking a painfully patient drag of his cigarette.

Tanya's eyes darted toward the young man as he walked towards her, a cloud of smoke surrounding him. She almost sighed, she was so tried of drawing people toward her, it was almost like a curse. Although, something in the pit of her stomache made her feel uneasy as he came closer and Tanya furred her eyebrows in confusion. She hunched her back slightly, trying to look less tense, more inviting.
"Hello sir," she answered, drawing her words out.

Zack inspected her quietly, in the instant it would have taken to respond normally to such a response. He used every aspect of his senses to investigate what he could.
Her smell was off, it didn't smell quite like what normal was supposed to be for a human. Her eyes held a secret knowledge... He longed to extinguish that light.

"My name's Zack... Yours?"

He took another drag of his cigarette... This will be interesting.

After lying in bed for a sinful amount of time, Mary Jane rolled to her feet and stretched. The white tank top she was wearing scrunched up as her arms reached towards the ceiling to reveal a glimpse of her taut stomach. Which grumbled loudly. She laughed a bit to herself. Guess it was time for lunch. She glanced at her watch, which read 4:45. A late lunch. She hadn't eaten anything since breakfast though. Definately time for some grub.
She glanced at the floor, finding the wrinkled pair of jeans she'd worn early. Changing out of her blue, cow-printed sleep shorts, Mary Jane swept her hair into a messy ponytail and walked out the door.
Outside, it was bright and slightly warm. Winter was turning into spring. She took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air. The dorm rooms smelled like sweat and, strangely, moth balls. Every time she walked outside it was like she was breathing for the first time.
Mary Jane walked across the grounds, enjoying the fresh air as she headed towards the campus cafe. She was a regular there, usually preferring to stay on campus rather than venture farther into the city for substanance. She spotted one of the busboys/waiters.
"Hey, Zack," she called pleasantly, slowing her purposeful walk and raising a hand in greeting and smiling slightly. Zack was quiet and she hadn't talked to him much, but he was always polite and never seemed to mind chatting with her, shy as he was. There was something different about him, but she didn't mind different. Her parents had always taught her to not judge people and behave with tolerance and acceptance.
Zack was standing with a pale girl who had long, dark hair and blue eyes. Mary Jane hadn't seen her before (maybe she was new?), but included the girl in her smile.

~Tanya~

Tanya stood still for a moment, not wanting to respond to the man. She stared down into the man's eyes, searching for what he wanted. His eyes were so dark they seemd black, but they held a white faintish-ness around the pupils. His whole life was being said just through his eyes, but Tanya could just no figure out how.Just as she was about to open her mouth, a young girl said from behind her, "Hi Zack."

Tanya closed her mouth slowly and looked away.

"Hey, Zack," a voice called out pleasantly, and he turned his head to the source, laying his eyes upon a beautiful, if unkempt girl.
He allowed himself to smile a little, "Hello, Mary Jane. Here for dinner?"
Zack all but forgot his prey, turning his almost full attention to the newcomer.

-It wouldn't work.-
[Things could if I made them.]
-We're not like her.-
[It wouldn't matter... Things could be made to work out.]
-You'd kill her with an accidental movement. You think you can control yourself so much not to rape, murder and feast upon her?-
[I could find a way. Some way.]
-Forget it.-
[No... I won't.]
-Your heartache.-
[Than I'll deal.]

The girl Zack was with opened her mouth as if she had something to say, then closed it. Mary Jane was about to urge her to speak but then Zack greeted her, "Hello, Mary Jane. Here for dinner?" His voice was quiet and subtle, but his smile was genuine and warm. Zack was her usual waiter and he always made her feel welcome.
Her stomach chose that moment to grumble loudly again. She laughed, placing a hand over her growling tummy as if to quiet it, "Yeah, if you couldn't already tell."
Her gaze fell on the unfamiliar girl, "Who's your friend, Zack?" Mary Jane reached out for a hand shake, "Hi there, I'm Mary Jane."

Zack turned, realizing there was another there, again.
"I don't even know. Just asked her name."
He took another drag of her cigarette, then tosses the butt to the concrete,
"Should I get a table ready?"

Tanya turned toward the outplaced hand and took it into her own small hand, "It is a pleasure. Mary Jane you said? I think we might be roommates."
She smiled slightly toward Mary Jane, but turned her attention back to Zack, so puzzled by his attitude. He seemed so distant before when they were just talking alone, but now that Mary Jane was here, he seemed just lighter...more carefree.
