Gundead [ OOC/ Sign-Up]

The virus known as H1N1 has caused several deaths of people around the world and the search for the cure was found in the year 2015. Anyone who had the virus was vaccinated and others who were not affected took the vaccine as a precaution. However, after five days patients with a certain genome that were vaccinated had regained symptoms of the H1N1 virus only this time a more evolved incurable form the virus. This new strain of virus left individuals with a high fever, yellowing of the skin, large greenish skin pigmentation, and severe chronic coughing with discolored mucus discharge. A new cure for the evolved virus is currently being researched and the epidemic has struck fear to the citizens of Toronto Canada where the first strain of the virus was discovered. Patients who suffer from new virus are being kept in the North York Hospital under intensive care.

It is October 12, 2015 approximate time 9:00am.

After five days since the ‘protest’ was reported all television and radio broadcast has come to a complete halt. The streets are completely empty of humans with only abandoned vehicles and unknown blood stains on the surface of mailboxes, street lamps, and walls. If anyone left their home to investigate they would disappear never to return to their family who remained locked up in their homes in fear of being infected. It was only a matter of time till food ran out or the power was cut off as the days went by. Screams could be heard at night along with gunshots, which increased with everyday that passed. If 50% of the population was infected within five days, it was a good estimate that 89% -90% of the population was infected in two weeks. Your best chance is to get out from your hiding place and face the truth the moment you step outside in search of food, supplies, or anyone else can give you information on what has happened in the past two weeks since epidemic started.

In order to participate you must be human, infected or not is your choice. The rules are simple because this RP is based on the real world no magic or advanced technology is allowed. The laws of gravity apply and being realistic is highly encouraged. You may start in any part of the downtown area of Toronto (View a map of Toronto, and be specific on your location by identifying the street) and you may kill any NPCs that are in the way of escaping the city. However, all characters controlled by player 'Unknown Enemy' is strictly turn based and cannot be auto hit, godmodded, or killed. This rule also applies for all characters controlled by other players. You can create or use a human character of your choice and is not required to be a Canadian citizen, just be sure to explain why your character is in Toronto (work, visiting etc.) . Plot advancement is based on the players involved that share a single mission: To survive, and get out of Toronto. The days that pass will be determined by myself or Juice, that includes the weather and the time of day. You can join a group or act alone in character-wise but must abide by the turn based rules which means no double posting and you must wait for Unknown Enemy to respond with a post if you happen to make an encounter.
