The white light from the cars shined brightely in her hazel eyes, as she strode down the highway. Lots of cars honked, and yelled; Her demon, Kero twitched while catching some z's. He was tightly tucked inside her pack, and she was wrapped up in her winter coat. Her dark red hair was swaying in the wind, as she saw a sign that said '2 miles untl Lincoln City'; A loud sigh came form her lips.
She stopped for a break, and a bite to eat when a black jag pulled over behind her. The lights from the car, were very dim but she new who it was as soon as she saw the front licinse plate. 'what the hell !' she said to herself; A man in his 20's stepped out of his car, and onto the cold concrete. He let in a cold breath, and paused to look at the stars, acting like he didn't see Kestrel.
He finally looked over to her; she could see his blond hair, and dark golden eyes as her strode over to her. He looked so graceful, as if flying instead of walking. The man approuched her, holding out his large arms, motioning for hug.
" Kestrel..." he said with a slight sigh. " Come here dear. It is m-" She cut him off " I know who you are Ash!" she said to him with a loud giggle. There body's intertwined like they hadn't seen each other in ages.
She kissed his cheek and let go of him. " How did you find me? I was just on my way to Aunt Coran's to find you." she asked him. He looked at her with a confused smile on his face. " Well, It wasn't easy...But nothing can keep us apart...And you know it."
She smiled sheepishly, He was the reason she was the way she was; But they were soulmates, and it was the only way they could be together. Sure she had to lie to everyone she met, and had to leave her family and friends behind. She also has to drink blood every 7 hours. But hey, it's nothing Kestrel Devender coudn't handle.
Ash picked up her bag, and took her hand " Let's go get some sleep hun. You look exaughsted!" he said concerned. She followed where his hand led, and got into the car. She remembered the feeling she always got in his car. Almost an adreniline rush of some sort. She ran her claw like fingers over the leather on the dashboard, and the throbbing started. She felt as if she was on top of the world, and could do anything.
Ash's deep voice broke the trance, and she took her hand off, and put them at her side like a little child in trouble. Her vision came back, and she could see her surroundings. Ash was next to her in the car, and it was about 4 in the morning telling from the moons ora.
Kero was on her lap, and was in form of a red fox the same color of her hair. She found herself petting him, something she hadn't done in a while. Ash took one of her small hands into his, and she started to feel warm. It spread through her body, and into Kero. A deep sigh came form her lips, and Kero's. Ash mumbled something under his breath Kestrel didn't catch.
She looked over to Ash, and he was looking at Kero. He had a dark yet slyghtly evil grin on his face. Kesterel never knew why, but she knew Ash didn't like Kero. Jealesy maybe, or something more. A growl came from Kero, and a loud hiss from Ash. " Now don't you two start! " Kestrel yelled to them. Ash backed down, and so did Kero. Both of them glancing at each other every once in a while, to make sure they were still there.
