Melchizedek & Seven Hebrews

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Dionysus on Fri Aug 22, 2008 6:40 pm

WARNING TO READERS

This character profile is based on Melchizedek from the Holy Bible, but was not meant to offend anyone in any way, shape, or form. Most of the information in this biography is based on Seven Hebrews of the New Testament, but should not be considered a purely religious character, neither from Judaism or Christian views. Melchizedek in this biography is a mythical roleplaying character, not a historical person from any personal stand point. I just want to make that very clear, beforehand. Please do not comment or make any replies in this thread. Thank you.

CREATION MYTHS

Melchizedek is a completely mysterious figure who remains unknown. His name is surrounded by myths and legends which try to explain his obscure existence. Some believe he is a mortal shepherd with human origins, claiming to be a ruler when he is in fact a poor beggar and a thief. Melchizedek himself has never claimed to be a ruler, although many Salemites claim him as their king. Melchizedek is often called the "King of Salem" (lit. Jerusalem), a city with a name which in their language means "City of Peace", for it has been said that the Salemites are a very loving and peaceful nation. Their neighbors, the Chaldeans, claim that Melchizedek descended from the priestly caste in Shinar, and was appointed by the the Elyon (pr. Alien) to be a mediator between east and west. Some say Melchizedek was a Hamite from Mizraim or Aksum, while others claim he was a Semite from Midian or Bharat in the far eastern land of behemoths. Still others suggest he was a Japhite from Meshech, Java, Elam, or some nomadic tribe who migrated into the civilized world and settled all over the place. Jebusites refer to Melchizedek as their righteous king, and an "Avatar of Zedek" (lit. Justice), their chief deity. The best story of his life comes not from his own followers, however, but from foreigners and other Canaanites who see him as a wizard and a prophet. Canaanites describe him as "Melkisedec, the son of Malah, the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxar, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, who lived before the flood". According to the Canaanites, his father Malah was a hunter who learned how to domesticate animals and shepherd livestock. Malah's wife was Yozadak, a witch who lived up in the mountains and planted a magical healing garden. Yozadak supposedly knew the language of the plants and animals, and was gifted in the secrets of the stars and planets. It was Yozadak who taught Malah how to domesticate animals, and cast out demons. They were married, and their son Melchizedek was born in a cave nine months later. It is said that Melchizedek's mother died unfortunately while giving birth to him, which caused his father to forsake the newborn child and wander off alone, leaving the infant to die with its mother. Canaanite legends suggest that Melchizedek survived, however, because all kinds of animals flocked around him and protected him. It is said that Melchizedek was considered the ruler of the animal kingdom too , since many creatures came to visit him in the cave when he was still a newborn. Birds flew from far away to weave him a bed and basket, while goats nurtured him on life giving milk. Lions and tigers protected his cave, and supposedly when Melchizedek's father Malah had a change of heart and turned around to save him, the animals would not allow the infant to be seen for many weeks. Once most of the animals finally left, Malah entered the cave only to find the baby Melchizedek sleeping in a basket with a giant snake, who spoke to Malah and told him that Melchizedek was no ordinary child, but the prodigical son who would grow up to become a great wizard.

MYSTERIOUS PRIESTHOOD

Although the Canaanites are composed of similar nations and languages, they do not all share the same cultures and belief systems. For example, the Salemites believe that Melchizedek had no parents whatsoever, and that he exists forever without beginning of days or end of life. To the Salemites he is not even human, but the angel Melek who manifests in physical form, and who originally lived in Ninmah's Garden (lit. Eden) before humans were ever created. Their neighbors, the Chaldeans, have a similar belief based on ancient Sumerian mythology. Jebusites in Canaan proclaim Melchizedek as a manifestation of El-Elyon (lit. God of Gods), associated with the planet Jupiter and an unimaginable nameless deity. There is even a secret cult in Salem known as the "Order of Melek", which claims him as their highest priest and king. Although this secretive "Order of Melek" is a radical extremist cult opposed to foreign rulerships and governings, having itself developed a bloody reputation for causing many assassinations and revolts, Melchizedek himself is never said to have mentioned them in any of his public speeches. It has been said that Melchizedek blessed Abraham the Hebrew after one such bloody revolt, even meeting him in the Valley of Shaveh (lit. King's Valley) with gifts of bread and wine. There it is said that Abraham the Hebrew was baptized by Melchizedek, who blessed El-Elyon (lit. God Most High) along with all the soldiers of Abraham's tribe, three hundred servants who helped to rescue Abraham's nephew by slaughtering four kings and at least a thousand foreign invaders. Again, it is said that two of the four dead kings were important military leaders such as Kedorlaomer the Elamite, and Amraphel the Sumerian, both of whom were assassinated at night by Abraham's three hundred. Despite this typical Hebrew revolt, Melchizedek himself is never said to have been present during these events, and there is no mention of Melchizedek actually participating in such battles. But there are rumors that Melchizedek sent astrologers (g. Magi) and spies to survey the lands and make predictions, then providing Abraham's army with secret intelligence and foresight. No proof has been given of these claims, and Melchizedek has yet to be convicted of any crimes. Most people agree that he is a peace loving, kind hearted, merciful activist who does not promote violence or look for trouble. Melchizedek is just a quiet, humble person living as a hermit up in the mountains where he teaches small classes and attends to his flocks.

DIVINE POWER

Melchizedek's past is obscure, but he is presently a wizard. He is said to possess magical abilities which defy the laws of physics. Melchizedek can levitate, if he so wishes to do so. He has all the powers of telepathy and telekinesis, and can do things which are unexplainable to normal human beings. It is said that with just a flick of his wrist, or a gesture of his hand, that he can cause his imaginations to become manifestations at will. Melchizedek can walk on water, or sit above the clouds. He can also change the weather, causing rain or shine. Just by waving his hand from one side to the other in an arching fashion, Melchizedek can create a rainbow or comet. It is also said that he can understand the language of the plants and animals, even finding himself in harmony with the smallest ants and lizards on earth. Mother Nature is his constant friend and companion, as the mountains and forests are said to bow before him, and will gladly move aside if he just asks them nicely to. Melchizedek is a mediator between the physical world and the spiritual realm, as he can summon spirits and communicate with them on a personal level. Even the stars and planets obey his commands, since he can illuminate the sky at night and cast darkness over the land at any time he chooses. Even death itself is not an obstacle for Melchizedek, since he also has the ability to heal people with the slightest touch of his fingertip. Melchizedek has been known to cure illnesses and diseases, relieving the burdens of mankind. He causes the deaf to hear, the blind to see clearly, and the lame to walk again. Melchizedek is a wise master who also has a unique way with words, being able to explain the ancient scriptures in such a way that even a child could understand. Many people take this as a sign of good hope, believing Melchizedek to be a reincarnation of Moses, Daniel, Elijah, John the Baptist, Michael the archangel, or even Jesus Christ himself. There is also a good amount of speculation that because he can perform such miracles, that perhaps maybe he can use his divine powers to cause injury or death as well. Some myths have arisen concerning whether or not Melchizedek is an angel of heaven or a demon in disguise. It is said that he mingles with sinners, and even with those who have been excommunicated from the churches. Melchizedek is said to soar through the universe on the wings of dragons, or rumble through the deserts on the back of a talking unicorn (g. White Horse), though much of what is said about him comes from the imagination and not from eye witnesses. There is a great deal of evidence suggesting that Melchizedek is affiliated with the Pagan occultists and Median astrologers (lit. Magi), who are said to act as his wise counsel and personal bodyguards. There are several bazaare cults and nomadic tribes affiliated with him, but there is hardly any evidence which suggests that Melchizedek is a threat. He has never been known to cause serious injury or death to anyone, nor has he ever been convicted of leading any revolts or provoking any acts of violence whatsoever. In fact, as a teacher, he seems to advocate the exact opposite of violence in his public speeches. Melchizedek is always spreading the good news of peace, love, and acceptance of faith. Whether or not he has a network of spies and assassins working for him, nobody knows for sure. But what is known, is that he never mentions them in his teachings. If such a network really does exist, Melchizedek is very good at maintaining its secrecy, keeping them in the shadows away from public exploitation. His powers, his origins, his caste, his disciples and his motives are all just as obscure and mysterious as he is.
