Sleeping in Your Brother's Bed [Song-fic Week #4]

There is a stranger in my brother’s bed. He had appeared with the grumbling of an engine and a flickering headlight, the vehicle having emerged from the night like a tired beast. Few words had been exchanged between the stranger and my parents, my tired ears listening from the shingles. They’d been ...

Re: We'll Be Glowing in the Dark [Song-fic Week #3]

Yeah, I did feel like I nailed the upbeat and energetic parts of the piece, but the ending wasn't as well done as I intended it to be. I should have spent a little less room on the setup in order to have some space for a proper finishing bit, but hey, lesson learned. Thanks for the review.

We'll Be Glowing in the Dark [Song-fic Week #3]

Lights flickered by in a rush, the engine groaning in protest. The red lights flashing in the misty gloom of the midnight hour weren't stopping me, and neither would this relic of metal, its one shattered window still shaking with fragments of glass. A foolish decision to snatch the first thing I co...

Ending the Storm

There wasn’t a day without the storms. Thunder rolled and clouds formed into dense clusters, mixing into a concoction of light, sound, and furious rain, pelting the earth below without hesitation. Joining it were the winds, unbounded by the weather and sent spiraling through the air with no set dest...

End

“The planet’s going to hell, son. Just makin’ the trip shorter than it needs to be.” Those were the last words my father spoke to me, just before his brains were splattered across the walls by the pull of a trigger. Boom. Just like that. One quick reflex of the finger, a sharp noise, and there went...

Swords and Shadows

Swords and Shadows Chapter One A New Companion “Well, don’t you just look downright frustrated now?” I said, addressing the boy. My voice sounded cheery, almost mocking, as I floated beside the boy. For the first time in nearly a thousand years, I was free. Free to speak, free to interact, and, mos...

The Beast

The Beast by Sheff The jungle was hot, steamy, maybe even overbearing with its humid air. It was a giant mix of greens and browns, trees towering overhead, their large branches and leaves blocking sunlight in some patches on the ground. The earth itself was a mix of fertile dirt and decomposing lea...

Re: Anyone up for Dinosaurs?

Well, I'm completely willing to help you come up with ideas. Kind of want to work the creative juices a bit. But, if you do, we sure as hell are not doing it over posts here. I'd probably prefer to do so over MSN or Yahoo Messenger. And I understand what you mean by not wanting it to be exactly like...

Re: Anyone up for Dinosaurs?

Hm... I do find this interesting. Just one thing though; the logic behind how the dinosaurs actually manage to get all across the globe. Yes, there's the possibility of escaping to nearby countries, but there's two things that stand in there way; water and weapons. No dinosaur could swim the hundred...

Re: [OOC] The Colonnade; Pillars of the Apocolypse

Hm... here's another question for you. Will the people in Salvation have just formed the group, or have been working with each other for a couple of years? I would probably prefer the former, mainly because I hate establishing relationships with characters I have only just started roleplaying with, ...

Re: [OOC] The Colonnade; Pillars of the Apocolypse

Well, I nabbed the Intelligence spot for Salvation obviously. Looks like all we need is medic for that group... I can always make a character to take that spot if you need someone to. Anyway, looking forward to the opening. I'll post as soon as possible afterward. EDIT: Whoops, my bad. Forgot Little...

Re: [OOC] The Colonnade; Pillars of the Apocolypse

Well, that was a lot of info to take in. Anyway, after about fifteen minutes of reading, I can tell you've put a lot of work into this, and you've also managed to get me interested. I'm not a fan of the super-large profile you require, but I'll try to get through that. Don't know when I'll exactly g...

Re: WOTL: Crafting Heros (RP Tournament)

I agree with the above. Giving the player those sorts of abilities would probably introduce some slight god modding somewhere within the RP, but keeping it to weapons/armor should limit it well.

Re: Viva La Vida [IC]

Sheffer looked to the man, thinking it through. He had someone here who gone the extra length to find out the truth, risking his life in order to prove the new king false. Constantly being chased by guards, knights, and any other servants of Malus for three long years, becoming an outcast of the cit...

Re: Will of the Lost

Hm... I find this quite interesting. The problem is the complexity, but if you give it some thought, I bet you'll be able to get everything set to make things even for every roleplayer. I meet all of the requirements, but the 72 hours one might be a problem to me at times. Usually earlier in the wee...

The Fool on the Hill

The Fool on the Hill By Sheff I did not know why I was here, huffing and puffing my way up the incline, my feet slipping on the dew-soaked grass. My body strained with this little exercise, but I continued up the hill, proceeding to question my goal. Up I went, and eventually, the ground began to l...
