Thedas -- a diverse land with vastly different people, religions, climates, and a colorful history.
All things found in Thedas, however, all have one particular things in common.
The Blight.
The Blight decimates the lands of Thedas, rendering man and beast alike into twisted, deformed shadows of their existence.
Men and women go mad, attack each other, and are eventually transformed into sickening ghouls.
Animals loose their hair, foam at the mouth, and attack everything in sight.
This is not the worst of The Blight...
The Blight releases hordes of vile creatures.
Though they appear humanoid, they have no sense of humanity.
They spread their taint across the lands and kill everything in sight.
Only one group of individuals have ever been known to successfully bring an end to The Blight.
Now, more than ever before, their numbers dwindle.
It has been so long since the last Blight in the land of Thedas that the ugly memories have faded into legend.
The Grey Wardens have faded, as well, thought to remain heroes of tales.

A recent change has brought need for these great heroes to rise from the ashes.
Signs of another Blight have begun to make themselves known.
Increased Darkspawn pour from the mouths of the Dwarven caves in the Deep Roads.
Attacks have begun on small villages and reports indicate many casualties.
The Blight is beginning to wreak havoc on the land...
