Introduction
I take this from a fellow RPer, with adjustments, as the last incarnation failed after a few posts. This world in which we will play in is an alternate reality from the main series. It is alternate simply because that would be the easiest way to explain any major differences from the original series; it gives us the chance to grow.
The year is 2017, twenty years since Stargate Command was instituted. Earth's citizens still have no idea about the Stargate and the various threats on their planet over the past two decades. Atlantis was removed from San Francisco harbour in mid-2009 when it was decided by the IOA that Atlantis's purpose was better served back in the Pegasus Galaxy- continuing to fend off what Wraith were leftover, exploring the planets there, and expanding the territory explored by Earth. Earth’s exploration of the three accessible galaxies: The galaxy of the Tau'ri, the galaxy previously known as the Ori Galaxy, and the Pegasus Galaxy, has increased nearly unhindered over the past eight years- limited only by the budgets set for the Stargate program.
As for technologies, the governments of Earth have begun to sneak technologies gathered over the years into the commercial markets used on earth, starting with defence technology and expanding into medical. Thankfully, it hasn’t been anything too powerful, at the moment it is only limited to theories and the odd glitch ridden prototype. Even so, we can hardly say we've explored the full extent of the Asgard knowledge planted on the Daedalus so many years ago, as well as the knowledge to be gathered from Atlantis. There are whole teams of researchers designated to study the Ancient databases scattered throughout the Milky Way and Pegasus.
Around 2012, General Hank Landry retired from his oversight of the SGC. From here, Colonel Samantha Carter was promoted to General, as Colonel Cameron Mitchell expressed little interest in having a 'desk job' whilst he was still perfectly capable of Gate-Travel, along with the fact that Carter had been diligently serving the SGC for several years longer than Mitchell. With the twentieth anniversary of the Stargate Program swiftly approaching, General Carter has shown no signs of wishing to resign.
As for Atlantis's command, Woolsey resigned three years ago in 2014. He was replaced by one Dr. Darren Michaels, a representative of the UK who gained prominence in the IOA over the years since Atlantis landed on Earth.
The Stargate program is creating new teams in commemoration of its twentieth anniversary. The SGC will create three new teams, making the total a sound thirty. The Atlantis expedition will create four new teams, giving it twelve
Our characters will make up SG-28, led by my own character. SG-28 will be a versatile team created with the best of the best from the United Nations Security Council’s permanent member states: China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States of America. They will not be the front leading team as was SG-1 but they will certainly be up to the standards, if not better, than any of the current teams to be found in Stargate Command.
I would very much prefer the idea of versatility in the team, so the idea of having more than one from the same country does not appeal to me at all. France I have never really thought of as being portrayed successfully in the series, which I find a shame as they have themselves the Foreign Legion. This would be the loophole I will allow for characters whose nationality is not one of the UNSC.
The Missions:
Will be delivered by the General Samantha Carter canon character in a mainly one sided briefing post, to be followed on with us all posting the deployment in the gate room into the ‘other world’.
This is a not a role play with an ultimate goal in mind, it is designed to be mission-modular that will develop as we go along.
Although there is a Free Jaffa Nation, and the main Goa’uld have been eliminated from the Milky Way, I do believe them to be the most versatile of enemies. However, the Ori were the more powerful and the more dangerous of the two. If you combine the two who do you get? Correct, Anubis.
Anubis’ limbo state of half ascension is an interesting form, I am gong to work on the premise that although Oma did stop him from destroying all known life across a galaxy, she did not stop him from existing. Instead I propose that he was struck back down to a mortal level. He is Khalek for all intents and purposes. He was descended and unfortunately for us, is using his steadily progressing psychic powers to take to the Ori galaxy and rule as an ascended being there. Sound complicated? Good. Because at the same time I don’t want any God-Modders. If you aren’t confused now then there must be something wrong with you.
In brief – Bad guy trying to take the role of God in the Ori galaxy for the cliché megalomania and power addiction, especially as the Jaffa no longer give a rat’s bum in serving anyone.
With that said we will therefore need someone to play a descended Anubis or a minor Goa’uld who is seeking ascension but in the Ori Galaxy. Hell, it could even be a Ba’al trying to make a new start in the Universe. I would be most happy if there are two people wanting to play the parts of the ‘bad guys’ as that would mean the interaction they receive whilst waiting on the ‘good guys’ would be existent, not just them talking to themselves over and over again.
Also in need of members of SG-28 as well as any others who might be interested to take part in other roles that I will happily discuss.
Rules:
No mega god modding.
Keep it as lore friendly as you can.
GM’s world is final, as it Deputy GM.
Any disputes between players is to be arbitrated by either GM or DGM
Battle sequences to be realistic, the chances you have a bazooka that can kill an entire battlefield is not going to happen, nor is a newbie medic that can fly an Al’Kesh bomber fluently.
Be considerate and respectful. If you do not post within a week we will search for a replacement

Gareth's back was to the mighty Stargate, in front of him lay three open folders, each detailing extensively the background to the members that would soon be his next unit. He had a problem with those who were chosen by the IOA's committee; he was used to working alongside those who were trained and selected on their physical prowess and mental endurance. Instead he was to be commanding an academic, a rookie and a medic. His eyes darted across the pages that were listed beneath the picture of the French lieutenant.
The seasoned captain leant his brow on his hand, cupping his temple with his thumb. It was going to be difficult, but they wouldn’t have been selected if there wasn’t a good reason behind it. He tossed the medic’s file lazily to the side, scraping the classified documentation that was of the American. Gareth browsed through it lazily, something seemed familiar about her but he had been around the world, it could have been anything.
After a few minutes he gathered the three of them under his arm and stood up. The Stargate was immense beneath the window, the chevrons adorning the dirty bronze was a spectacle. The general hustle of the base was noticeable but quiet all the same, it was strange to be underground for so long. Mainwaring had been here for a week or so after heading back to the UK in order to tie up some loose ends. He had spent time in various environments but this was the strangest by far.
The captain remained lost in thought, awaiting the arrival of his new unit.

She walked through the underground corridors on the way to the briefing room, she had already been informed that the head of her new unit would be waiting for her there. She had not been told much else and when she had asked more she had been informed that the captain would give her a full briefing.
She passed numerous people on her way there and saw a few strange sights such as some odd weaponry being transported somewhere, though she of course was more interested in what kind of medical breakthroughs they had achieved here. That was the other reason she had accepted this posting, the chance to be part of new medical breakthroughs or finding new medical technology. It would be interesting to say the least.
She finally reached the entrance to the briefing room where a guard glanced at her badge and then nodded her through, she smoothed down her immaculate French uniform before walking into the room. A man stood there seeming lost in his own thoughts.
"Lieutenant Marceu reporting for duty, Sir!" Celeste snapped to attention, her strong French accent clear in her words.

Of course, they are composed of Jaffa, not totally, but mostly. All of them needed to be "enlightened" that he is indeed their god, but once they were, they served with full loyalty. Erebus has a simple plan, based on facts and examples. The Tau'ri have always stayed ahead, using ancient technology for the most part. So he figures, if he can get some advanced ancient Technology of his own, the Tau'ri will fall to him. That that, is most likely true. So now, he was harvesting Naquida and and finding ancient Technology, and recovering free weapons and ships left behind. It was a firesale for him.
Erebus looked back as 2 Jaffa, brainwashed of course, entered the room, and bowed. "Rise" he said, in a commanding voice. They did so. One of them then spoke "We have obtained access into the...." they started, but then Erebus rose his hand and signaled them to stop. "I am aware. Return to me with as many Artifacts you have already uncovered immediately....". The 2 Jaffa headed off, and Erebus smiled slightly, a very evil smile. Soon, the universe would be his.....

Returning the salute, he spoke, "At ease lieutenant. I trust you know why you are here then?" His question lined with another accent alien to this place. The files beneath his arm swapped back to in front of him as he moved forward to the chairs. Gareth slowly sat himself into the large leather throne and again glanced over the medic."Your file seems to show that you are only trained in basic combat? I hope that the amount of lives you have saved makes up for that." The brown, classified cover opened up on the table, arching slightly to shield it from the possible gaze Celeste might cast.
Again, he was unsure of the legitimacy of the fairly novice French candidate being on the team, his eyes scoring deep within the words that were written, appraising them as if in another context. What was the IOA's reasoning and what was their bureaucratic term for it? Quietly, he locked eyes with her, trying to pick the reason up from more than words.

"I have been briefed on this posting and what will be required of me sir." She responded calmly. Then was silent for a few moment while she thought about the best way to answer his comment on her combat skills.
"Whilst I may not be trained to the standard of yourself in combat I am fully capable of defending myself and others from harm. I am proficient in both armed and unarmed combat. After all I have done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and during these tours I have been required to treat patients whilst under fire from the enemy. I hope that addresses your concerns. Sir" She said all of this in a calm manner and met his gaze levelly with no hint of hesitation or nerves.

Elevator doors opened and she was greeted by the activities equivalent to the inner workings of a well-oiled machine. Briefly, Raquel was stopped so that her clearance could be checked, even though it had already been checked upstairs. After this verification, she wandered curiously down a hallway that appeared to be that of an ordinary military bunker. The second lieutenant had been told to report to the briefing room, located just above the control room, which could be found just down the hall from the entrance. And she did indeed discover the control room.
As Raquel climbed the short stairwell into the room of blinking lights, buttons, and computers, none of these caught her eye. Her vision went immediately to what stood beyond the window to her left; the Stargate. It didn’t look quite like a portal creating machine- it just looked like a metal ring with runes carved into it. But somewhere beyond that thing her father had died in service to not just his country, but his planet.
After catching sight of a few odd glances from those working in the room, obviously realizing her newness to this setting, she forced herself up the winding stairs to her right and up to the briefing room. Raquel caught the tail end of a phrase spoken by a female French voice as she climbed into the room but didn’t stop to listen. She instead entered the room behind the blonde woman and faced the man she figured was her commanding officer, Captain Mainwairing.
“Second Lieutenant Raquel Bianca Jacobsen reporting, sir,” She stood at attention, but gave a brief nod and smile to the other woman in the room who she could only assume was on her team as well before resuming her position.

Standing to attention and declaring herself, it was a good start at least. "Lieutenant, at ease." His own hand returned a half-bothered salute in the British fashion. Having the two of them side by side made his stomach wrench slightly; it was an alien environment to his usual work place.
"As I have just asked the lieutenant here, I trust you know why you are here and what is to be expected of you?" Gareth didn't wait for an answer, instead he thumbed through the rookie's file in front of him again, looking for the phrases and past errors to question her upon, "If not you shouldn't be here rookie. I know that the governments of our own countries have been very keen to be a part of this program but I do question some of the reasons why they have chosen who they have." His face was stone hard as his unimpressed eyes trailed over the American, "You are an engineer and a rookie," The captain's voice resonated with distaste, "What experience do you really have in the field Jacobson?"
If it was to be between the two, as much as he may have been against it, he would have chosen the medic. Celeste's recorded "resilience in the heat of battle" gave him much more hope than the merits this Jacobson had. It might have been his stereotypical ignorance to the rest of the world, but he wasn't much of a fan of either nationality the two before him held, the American military was tarnished in his eyes due to there actions in the Middle East, and the French were probably the most successful combatants in history, European Socialists... he quietly thought to himself.

"As I have just asked the lieutenant here, I trust you know why you are here and what is to be expected of you?" He didn't wait for an answer, and continued while flipping through what she could only assume was her file. "If not, you shouldn't be here rookie. I know that the governments of our own countries have been very keen to be a part of this program but I do question some of the reasons why they have chosen who they have."
His apathetic, if not irritated expression dashed any hope of this initial meeting going as planned, his British accent only amplifying his distaste, "You are an engineer and a rookie. What experience do you really have in the field Jacobson?"
“Sir, I've flown many missions. Everything from transport to extraction. I..." Raquel paused, fighting to hold back a sigh. "May I speak frankly with you, sir?"

A is mainly focused on the fact tthat the Ancients were on many worlds they went to most likely, and since much of Ga'uld technology is based on ancient technology (as it said in the series), it wouldnt be too surprising.....
Anyways, i cant really tell the tone you had in that. But onto bigger concerns, one of us hasn't posted yet, and i still haven't found anyone for my First Prime.... >.<
