Scarlet was glad to have Steven's support on this and to know that he hadn't freaked out at Andy's request. She didn't want to loose him, not now because she had fallen in love with him and because Scarlet knew that she couldn't raise a second child on her own. She just couldn't do it. She had wrapped her arms around Steven and was talking quietly to him about the idea of him sitting outside every night being silly when the phone rang. Answering it Scarlet sat down at the kitchen table and spoke to the policeman as he explained all of the details and asking if she wanted to press charges. Upon agreeing she was then given a lot of information very quickly about what she had to do now.

At the mention of Andy having to attending the court date in two days she frowned a little. Scarlet didn't want Andy involved in any of this but when the policeman explained that it would result in a harsher punishment if they could see that the child in question was greatly affected by it, Scarlet agreed to talk to him. Despite Andy technically being still a child it wasn't as if she could force him to do anything he didn't want to do.

Finishing up on the phone Scarlet looked over at Steven who had made himself a cup of coffee. "I agreed to press charges and there is a court date in two days that both Andy and I will need to attend" She said with a sigh and ran her fingers through her hair. Scarlet was extremely stressed out and overwhelmed at the moment. "The officer also said that we should get an attorney... I don't know why though. We haven't done anything wrong" She said in a worried tone as she buried her head in her hands.

He wrapped his arms around her as he could tell she was worried and stressed about the court date they would have to attend in two days. He kissed her cheek softly and said, "They probably just don't want you to get swept up in everything. It's a lot and it happens quickly. An attorney is there to make sure you and Andy get what's best for you. I have a friend in town I will give him a call." He said pulling out his wallet and looking for the guy's card. He found it pulling it out and setting it on the counter. "Everything will be fine. Do you need anything besides an attorney?" He asked rubbing her back softly knowing she was stressed.

All of this stress wasn't good for the baby and Steven wanted her to calm down. They could handle whatever was thrown at her together and they would get through it. "I am here.. I can clear some time at the restaurant and go with you to the court date and we'll hopefully not have to see Tony for a bit and he can learn his lesson to stay away." He said kissing her softly.

Scarlet nodded her head a little as Steven explained why she would need an attorney there with her at court. It made sense that they would need someone there to represent them and Scarlet was glad that Steven was there to tell her all of this since the policeman hadn't seen the need to. The way Steven had been through out this whole process had really reassured Scarlet that he was a good man and it was clear that she would instantly be lost without him.

"No... I don't need anything and thank you for being here with me" She said forcing a smile to her lips although it did look a little fake. "I would really like it if you were there with me, at least just to hold my hand" Scarlet had never set foot in a court room. Everything with her divorce had been settled outside of court so it had been nice and easy. She just hoped that this was as easy. "I just need to tell Andy that he will need to go to court..." Scarlet said as she went to stand. "Just wish me luck with that"

Making her way to the stairs Scarlet headed towards Andy's room and knocked on the door before pushing it open. Andy was sitting on his bed with his laptop in front of him. He looked up when she entered. "I just got off the phone with the police and they are going to press charges against your father for breaking the restraining order which is good since they said he will probably get jail time for that but they also said that for that to happen then we would both have to be there and be willing answer some questions if the judge asks us" Scarlet said as she stood in the doorway and watched her son's reaction to the news. Scarlet wished that she didn't have to ask this of her son but she had no other choice other than running away.

Andy instantly looked a little worried and said, "Well.. we'll be in court so he can't come near us right?" He asked knowing that his father was obviously dangerous to them showing up to their house and screaming like a crazy person. "If he can't then I'll go." He said looking up at his mother nervously. It hadn't been as hard as Scarlet thought it would be getting him there. He really had improved his attitude and behavior the last week or two and it showed immensely.

Steven gave his friend a call when she went upstairs explaining the situation and talking with him. He listened writing important things down and the lawyer asked if they could come in to prepare a couple of questions tomorrow. He was pretty booked and only had something in the middle of the day which meant Andy would miss more school for that and for the court date. He told him they'd be there and went up to tell Scarlet. When he did he looked over at Andy and said, "We can go pick up some of your work tomorrow after the meeting so you're not far behind." Andy nodded and Steven rubbed Scarlet's back reassuringly.

"Are you sure you're okay? You're over stressing." He said to Scarlet who looked a frantic mess.

"Andy there will be policemen and security all over the place. He wont be able to touch us and he shouldn't say anything or they will take him away immediately. I promise you will be fine... and thank you. It means a lot that you are doing this, I'm proud of you" Scarlet said knowing that this wouldn't have been easy on Andy but that he really was acting mature. Before she could say more Steven arrived at the door with news about an attorney and that Andy would have to miss some school. Scarlet didn't mind too much about the missing school since he had been so well behaved and caught up at the moment. This also couldn't be helped and she had faith that he would catch up once things calmed down.

Steven's attention then turned to her. "I'm fine..." Scarlet said brushing it off. She was feeling a little funny but she just put it down to the stress. She knew that she was stressing about all of this but it was very hard for her not to. In fact anyone would be stressed if they were in her situation. "I think all I need is an early night and I will be fine in the morning" She said taking a deep breath and trying to bring a reassuring expression to her face as she looked at Steven. "I'll order some Chinese or something for dinner in a little while" She said to Andy as she turned to leave him to continue whatever it was that he was doing in peace.

Turning Scarlet walked out into the hallway and waited for Steven. "So you are staying here tonight?" She asked when he followed her. Scarlet really didn't want to be left alone in the house tonight and after everything that had happened the time had gone quickly and it was almost dinner time.

Steven still didn't feel right about Scarlet stressing so much but left it for the moment so that she wasn't worried about another thing. He nodded, "Yeah, I'll stay here tonight. I will make dinner too All that junk food isn't good for the baby." He said kissing her softly. "Why don't you go take a bubble bath?" He asked trying to get her to relax more. He knew stress wasn't a good thing when you were pregnant and was trying to make things as smooth as he possibly could.

He headed down to the kitchen and got some food going with what was there but made note that he should get Scarlet some groceries. So much had been going on that he just wanted to be there and help her and if that meant grocery shopping, or cooking or whatever else she needed he would gladly do it. He figured that night they would just have a relaxing night in, eat some dinner and watch movies or whatever.

Once dinner was almost done he set the table and called up to the two of them "Andy... Scar dinner's just about ready!"

"Junk food is better than my cooking" Scarlet said in an attempt to lighten the mood between the two of them. She knew that he was worried and was doing her best not to worry him. Things would be fine. "And alright, I'll go and take a bath and then head down and help with dinner" Scarlet said as she gave him one final kiss before heading to the bathroom. It took no time at all before she was submerged in a nice warm bubble bath, just trying to relax. However it did the complete opposite as she sat there thinking about the whole situation with Tony over and over again. Finally she just got out of the bath and headed to her room to get changed into her pjs.

Once she was dressed Scarlet heard Steven's call for dinner. By this stage however she was feeling worn out and a little off. Scarlet couldn't put her finger on what exactly felt wrong but she was a little tired and her body just felt funny, especially her stomach. Slowly she made her way downstairs to find Steven, deciding that despite being hungry she needed to lay down for a little while. Reaching the kitchen she walked over to where Steven was finishing up with putting the last of the plates on the table.

"I think I'm just going to head straight to bed... I'm not feeling..." Scarlet said as she searched for the word. "I'm just not feeling right and want to lay down but dinner looks amazing, thank you" She said as she looked over the dinner which had been nicely set out on the table for them. Scarlet was trying not to worry Steven since she really didn't think it was a big deal.

Steven was a little skeptical and wondered if he should insist that Scarlet call the doctor, but he had never been through a pregnancy before and she had. There was a lot of stress tonight and the past few days and maybe she just needed a rest to get over everything and start to move on.

Steven and Andy sat down and ate dinner, it was great for having little in the house and the two of them enjoyed it, but Steven couldn't help but worry about Scarlet. He must have checked on her 10 times before 7PM only to find her sound asleep, which was good, he guessed. He ended up downstairs with Andy watching the game but still checking on her.

The last time he did was around 10:30 before he went back down to watch the news and she was awake. He looked in on her and said, "Hey sleepy, how you feeling?" He'd hoped better but she did look pretty pale.

After coming back upstairs Scarlet had got straight into bed and fallen asleep almost instantly. She had slept soundly and didn't even hear the numerous times that Steven had opened the door to check on her. After a few hours though she did wake up and instead of a funny feeling being in her stomach this time there was a little pain. Scarlet was a little anxious but she was trying to remain calm. It wasn't time to panic just yet and she just wanted to stay in bed and just see if it would go away.

As she was lying there Steven came in and she smiled over at him until he asked her how she was feeling."I dont know... I kind of have some dull pains in the bottom of my stomach" Scarlet said with her hand on her stomach. Her hand had been lightly resting across her stomach every time that Steven had been in there to check on her but this time it was a little tighter and a lot more protective. "I'm sure it's nothing and it will be gone in the morning. I think I just need to get a little more rest"

"How was dinner? Did Andy behave himself?" Scarlet asked in an attempt to change the subject.

"Andy is great. You know that." Steven said agreeing to change the subject with Scarlet even though he was still worried. He didn't think that any amount of pain was good during pregnancy but like he'd thought before he wasn't the one who had been through this before and he didn't know everything he needed to. He made a note to do some research for himself and get caught up so he would be fully prepared, even though there was still quite a bit of time before the baby came he knew it would go fast.

"I was going to go down and watch the news but I will lay with you until you fall asleep." Steven said relaxing and crawling into bed. He wrapped his arms around Scarlet and kissed her shoulder softly. "I love you Scar..." He whispered relaxing.

Scarlet smiled when Steven said that Andy was great. "I know..." She was enjoying this new side to her son and knowing that it was okay to leave him in someone elses care without it all falling to pieces. Andy was finally beginning to act like the well behaved young man that she had been trying to raise all of these years and she was finally convinced that moving back home had been the right decission not only for her but for him as well.

Scarlet groaned a little in pain as she moved closer to Steven and his arm wrapped around her. "I love you too" She whispered to him, leaning up and kissing him gently before relaxing back down. What Scarlet didn't want to admit to Steven was that the pain was getting worse and she was becoming more worried. However she was in denial and didn't want to admit that something was wrong. The longer the pain went on though the more she was starting to think that there might be. Scarlet was glad that Steven was going to stay there with her for a bit since she didn't want to be by herself right now.

"Maybe I should see if I can get a doctors appointment in the morning..." Scarlet mumbled to herself as she lay there with her eyes closed and her breathing steadying out like she was falling asleep.

Steven laid with her and when she said that maybe she should get a doctors appointment he knew that he wasn't worrying for nothing. When he listened to her breathing steadying out like she was falling asleep He got a feeling in his gut that something wasn't right. He rubbed her stomach softly, "Scarlet?" He asked making sure she was alright. When she answered dully he knew something was wrong and he wasn't about to wait until morning.

"Stay here, I'm taking you to the hospital." He stood up quickly and ran to Andy's room. "Andy, let's go your mom needs to go to the hospital. Something's not right."

He went back to Scarlet's room and picked her up out of bed, helping her down the stairs quickly. He got her in the car and Andy was waiting in the back seat. Steven rushed to the hospital, speeding to get there. When they did Andy ran inside to get a wheel chair while Steven sat with Scarlet, telling her it was going to be okay.

When they got there he was forced to fill out paperwork and both he and Andy were made to wait in the waiting room. When he finished the paperwork he paced back and forth, nervous and worried of what was going to happen.

Scarlet had protested when Steven had said that they were going to the hospital since she didn't want to get out of bed. However he had been insistant and Scarlet let him take her out to the car where she curled up in the seat. It didn't take long for them to get to the hospital but by that stage Scarlet was very much out of it.

Once they entered the hospital she was separated from the two of them and taken off into an exam room where they were instantly connecting her to machines that would not only moniter her but the baby as wel. By this stage she was also in a lot more pain but they were reluctant to give her anything for it until they were sure of what was going on. As she lay there the word miscarriage was being tossed around and Scarlet was terrified. She began hyperventilating and they ended up having to give her oxygen.

After about half an hour the docotr left Scarlet and headed out into the waiting room where he spotted both Andy and Steven who he had been informed were the people who came in with his patient. "Hi, I'm Dr. Andrews and I'm the one in charge of looking after Scarlet" He said as he motioned for Steven to sit down. "She is okay and so is the baby for the time being. We think that the pain has been caused by high levels of stress which is concerning as there was enough stress to almost cause a miscarriage" He explained letting this news sink in. "We were able to stop it but she needs to be kept calm or it could happen again"

Steven sighs listening to the doctor talk about the extreme amount of stress that Scarlet has been under and how it has almost caused her to have a miscarriage and lose the baby. He nods and continues to listen to the doctor, who suggests she say in bed as much as possible and not be stressed at all. He walks off after telling them he will be keeping Scarlet for the night for observation and that he will let them in to see her shortly.

Steven runs a hand through his hair and tries to think and plan what he can do to work things out. He sits down with Andy and tells him that he's going to need his help around the house a lot more now and that he needs to be there for his mom. Andy agrees and tells Steven that he will help no matter what. He nods and goes over everything that has to be done in the next couple of days with Tony and what not.

Finally they get in to see Scarlet and Andy moves over to the bed hugging Scarlet gently. Steven sits in the chair next to the bed, sighing in relief, letting them have their time together, and trying to make a plan how they're going to get through the next few days with no stress. He looked over to Scarlet and into her eyes as she talked to Andy telling him she was fine and that the baby was too.

The doctor had already briefly explained things to Scarlet basically telling her that she needed to relax. In her mind this was impossible. How could she relax when she would have to go to court in the next few days in an attempt to keep her son safe and to get her ex-husband put in prison. Despite this Scarlet told the doctor that she would relax. She wanted to be able to for the sake of the baby but it wasn't quite as easy as that.

Despite being exhausted she managed a smile when both Andy and Steven walked into the room. She was glad to see them but also felt guilty that she had put them through so much worry. Andy was the first to embrace her. "I'm fine Andy... it was just a little bit of a scare thats all" Scarlet said to her son as Andy appeared to be worried about both her and the baby. He wasn't completely convinced and told her that from now on she was to relax. Scarlet just nodded her head before she glanced over at Steven and made eye contact with him. She could tell that he was worried and probably more than a little stressed himself and she frowned slightly. That was the last thing she wanted to happen.

"Andy sweetie could you maybe go and get me some ice chips while I talk to Steven?" Scarlet asked, wanting some time alone with just Steven. "Sure" Andy said as he headed out of the room. He was just glad to see that his mum and the baby were okay. He also understood that the two adults probably had some talking to do so he took his time going out to get the ice as well as getting himself a drink along the way.

Scarlet looked over at Steven once Andy left the room, her eyes once more meeting his. "I'm so sorry... I didn't mean for any of this to happen and I really thought it was all okay" She said as her eyes became wet with tears. Scarlet was filled with guilt and disapointment in herself as well as being terrified that she could have almost lost their baby.

Steven moved over closer to the bed and took her hand in his. He knew that she was feeling guilty and reached up wiping her tears away. "Scarlet, you're upsetting yourself already." He laughed slightly. He rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb and told her softly, "Your job is to get through the next few days with as little stress as possible. And I'm here, and Andy is here to make sure that happens." He said reassuring her and trying to keep her calm.

He didn't want her getting upset already and he knew that he wasn't going to be the reason she was upset. "You are fine... and the baby is fine..." He said softly and relaxed kissing her forehead. "I talked to the lawyer, Chris.. he is going to come by the house whenever you are feeling up to it tomorrow and he said that he will inform the judge of the circumstances and make sure nothing stresses you out in the court room."

Andy knocked on the door softly and Steven looked up sighing softly. He spoke up, "The nurse said one of us can sleep in the other bed." He spoke up walking in with Ice Chips and water for Scarlet. Steven nodded, "Alright, you go ahead. I'll stay here and we'll go in the morning when they release your mom." He said.

Andy sat on the other bed and he still looked at Scarlet, visibly worried about her.

Scarlet managed a small smile when Steven pointed out that she was upsetting herself already. It was true. As soon as she had started to come around and things had settled down with the doctors and nurses in the room she had already started to worry and stress out. Scarlet was however trying her best not to. She was still a little upset as she nodded her head but she was at least trying to steady out her breathing, focusing on one breath at a time while she listened to Steven talk about how he had already called the lawyer and organised everything.

"I dont know what I would do without you..." Scarlet said quietly as she gave Steven's hand a light squeeze. Her breathing had by this stage began to settle back down to a normal rate and as she began to relax she could feel a huge sense of exhaustion overcome her. As she yawned the hand that wasn't holding onto Steven's raised to cover her moth and it was then that Andy walked in with the ice chips for her.

She listened as the boys discussed sleeping arragnements and then saw how worried Andy appeared to be. "Andy... I'm fine. I promise I will be okay" Scarlet said not knowing what else she could say to put his mind at rest. She hated seeing him like this and in fact his worry was causing Scarlet to become anxious and to worry. Scarlet wanted to protect her son from everything... this included.

"If you guys want to go home and get a good night sleep in your own beds then that is fine. I will be okay here with the nurses. All I am going to be doing is sleeping" She said not wanting to put either one of them out.
