He shrugged, instinctively moving towards one of his favorite refuge: the public gardens. A huge expansion of trees, grass, shrubs and flowers, scattered with benches and a rippling stream or two.
"Okay."
After a moment of silence, he tried to strike up conversation again.
"Sooo. I take it you don't really enjoy those parties."

"No, I hate them. Just a bunch of snobs and Paris always comes." She looked at him and knew he most likely didn't know who Paris was, "Paris is this guy that always wants to go out with me and acts like we do." She rolled her eyes, "He always stands so close to me and trys to kiss me sometimes."

"That's kinda retarded," he mumbled, hands in pockets. He racked his brain for something to say, and finally just came up with, "Is there someone you're interested in besides Paris?" The second he said it he bit his tongue. Now he sounded like a creeper, dangit!

He almost breathed a sigh of relief that there was someone and he didn't sound too horrible, but he tried not to show it on his face.
