Sitting in the Infirmary was actually quite nice. It was so damned quiet. The hallways were practically empty, and the only noise was the tiny click-click-click of the nurse's shoes as they made there rounds. Darna sat just as quietly, breathing in and out of her body slowly, the blood pounding mercilessly on her brain just behind her eyeballs. The migraine was still there, even after a few painkillers from the doctor. It was much milder now than it had been when they brought the kid in, but it still hurt like hell.

There had been an enormous ruckus after the perp got away. Sprinklers opened up, everything was soaked. Darna wasn't sure whether the guy got away or not. She'd be damned if he lived through the next meeting with her. But then again, just looking at him had made her completely useless. The last time that had happened, Darna had been looking at a Chimera. There was so much alchemy in that one body her senses couldn't take it. It was like staring into the core of the earth.

Way to go, almighty Darna Shaelladh! She cursed herself.

And one of the new State Alchemists... now he was a piece of work. Healing that other guy and using his own body for it. Darna leaned forward and let her forehead rest in the palms of her hand. That's what she'd heard as they'd walked away. The smell of blood was all over him and that only meant one thing to her. He'd been hurt. But the Colonel would have never guessed it had been self-inflicted. It burned her up inside that he could have seriously injured himself without telling her what he knew first. Or at least that's what she was telling herself right now.

Stupid kid! Shaking her head in her hands, she heard the click-click exit from his room and she lifted her head slowly, so as not to upset the blood even more.

"Hey nurse," she called out weakly, squinting against the pain in her head. "How's he doing?" She couldn't help it that she cared, this was how she was with everyone. If it had been someone else she would have done the same thing. But man, did she wanna slap him upside his head! He hadn't even been given his watch yet! Maybe she was overreacting, which Darna could do a lot sometimes, but her head hurt, she was stressed out, and she really, really wanted to know what in the hell was going on! This whole being left out of the loop was not great.
