Siegfried was absolutely awful with crying people, women, and especially crying women. His most common method of dealing with such things was complete avoidance or an attempt to make the party in question laugh. Neither of which was a terribly good option at present. He was pretty envious of Tinker's ability to talk his way out of just about any situation, all told, and he knew enough to let the other man's natural charm handle it.

Apparently, it had been decided that the princess would go to see Tiesa now, and eat thereafter. He debated which way he should go, but in the end decided to go about the business of fetching the food. he wasn't a particularly comforting presence at any rate, but he did have a rather discerning palate. So, sending a facetious wink in Tinker's direction, he spoke with the same attitude of joviality he always had.

"I'll take care of the food. It's what I'm good at, anyway. I might even leave the rest of you some, if you're nice about it. Besides, I know how much you like going to see Miss Tiesa," he teased lightly, disappearing further into the kitchen, noiselessly as ever save for the faintest jangling of bells. He hoped Momo wouldn't smack him for taking stuff without asking for it, but when he'd told the princess that he was the only one on the ship who ever got punched, he had only been half-joking. Siegfried was one of those people who could take a licking and keep on kicking, as a childhood friend had been fond of saying, long ago, and in truth he hardly felt the jesting slaps directed at him whenever his tongue got a bit too fresh or his wits a bit too dull.

He was rummaging through cupboards shortly thereafter. It appeared Momo had yet to return from deck. She'd probably walk in and catch him at it, but then that was mostly what he intended. He did not want to actually filch anything, and so he'd ask her forgiveness upon her reappearance. If it was for their guest, anyway, he was sure she'd have no problem with it. Most of the people aboard this ship, he thought, had their hearts in the right places, despite their rather interesting and obvious quirks.

He collected a number of sweet rolls, unsure what the princess had meant by 'lots' but reasoning that he would eat the extras anyway. He selected what he knew to be Tinker's and Allyson's favorites as well, and, thus burdened, padded with what looked like a great amount of clumsiness that never quite resulted in dropping his burden to the front part of the kitchen. If Momo didn't come soon, he'd just leave and bumble by to apologize later.
