“Madam... have I displeased you?” he spoke in a whisper. Iris rolled her eyes. "Yes you have". The elevator doors opened. "We've arrived" she said coldly stepping out of the elevator. Before them was a jail cell but it was too dark to tell for any ordinary human. "Speak" she said, her voice echoing. A human put his hands on the bars of the cell. "Madam.. you have returned.." he replied in a groggy voice.
She blew her hair out of her eyes and turned slightly to Lucian. "Servant no. 1 this is... " she paused. She wasn't sure what to call the human in the jail cell. "Well someone you'll need to know" she stated folding her arms turning back to the prisoned human. "I'm going to need you soon" she said to him. His eyes sparkled with delight. "Thankyou madam..thankyou" "For vampire gambling" she finished. The human's spirits lowered. She glanced at servant no. 1 and explained. "That man will be our.." she paused.
Did I just say 'our'? She shook her head snapping out of her thoughts. "MY entry for the latest vampire gambling tournament" she continued. "He used to be one of my servants but.. he tried to escape and well.." she gestured to the cell. "Look how that turned out" she said. "It is true.. I have upset my madam" the imprisoned human said. "She has been kind to me but I ran.. and was almost eaten alive..." Iris twitched at the word 'kind'. She gave servant no.1 a serious look. "I have invited the other entries to dine with us tonight.. you will be the musician for this occassion" She turned to the caged human. "And you will remain here until it is time. She sighed to both humans. "While we are dining, we must keep our ears open for important information..tips..slip ups.. anything that will ensure we win this bet". She said, determination showing in her fiery eyes.
She shook her head. "I mean to ensure I win this bet.."
Why did I say 'we' again grr.
