It was the start of a new semester, his second. That meant new students, and probably new problems. Still, Daen wasn't one to go hide when things changed. Instead he decided to take a break from his normal activities and roam the halls, to sniff out the new blood. Roaming the halls, keeping to the shadows, his green eyes took in the faces and features of each new student he passed. For the most part his presence was ignored though, which really made it all the easier for him to go as he pleased. After all, few ever took notice of a street rat, er... cat, like him.

His ears twitched, from the corner of his eyes he saw the shadows he knew so well move strangely. Turning to look he saw a girl, probably a vampire from the look of her, manipulating the shadows themselves, throwing them probably as a prank. His face split into a grin as he thought of a little fun of his own. He wondered just how much of a connection she had to those shadows and he knew just how to find out. Dipping into a shaded alcove, the boy's form began to blur, color fading until his arms and legs, then his torso were indistinguishable from the shadows around him. Next went his head and then his bright green eyes, and finally his wide, almost manic grin. With the softest of disembodied chuckles, the boy fell backwards, letting his physical body sink into his shadow before attempting to rise out of the Vampire Girl's own. He was soundless, all but invisible to those watching. He was sure he would give the poor girl a scare but one good prank deserved another.
