Bruce nodded at the two mages, he was satisfied with the position that he had now appointed himself. They will rely on me to watch their backs, which will be both a burden and a blessing. If something happens then it won’t be too hard to dispose of them, after all, they are mages so strip them of their magic and you strip them of their powers, Bruce thought, having a little struggle not to smirk.

Of course, Bruce couldn’t just turn his back to them anytime some, and he knew that neither could they. The two mages were sort of respected, however the Grey Warden was hated by the majority, while the other mage was just feared for being different; that’s where Bruce came in, he would be the one who would make people take aside and listen to what they would say, after all Templars held an unseen social rank, between nobility and higher classed commoners.

Bruce turned his head as Antius spoke and merely shrugged, “I wouldn’t fear the Circle too much now, if I was you, mage,” Bruce said, still not really wanting to address Antius as a real person or even as ser mage. “With a Templar in your company, I’m confident that the Knight-Commander wouldn’t be too worried concerning your possible…Late arrival.”

Bruce hadn’t spent that much time in the Tower of Mages. He had been there for maybe a combined amount of a year and a half in all of his service, all the other time he had served elsewhere. Fetching would-be mages from distant villages and then he had led a great deal of raids and attacks against heretics, apostates and even loose abominations, that was how he had earned his title as ‘The Apostate Hunter’. Bruce was ruthless when it came to hunting the wicked, and he showed little mercy, often bringing the mages back with broken hands and bloody faces (sometimes they didn’t return at all).

“Well, as this is settled, I suggest that we catch some sleep. There is a long journey before us,” Bruce declared and then returned the chainmail hood and his helmet to his head, placed the bottle of wine back in his bag and then, using his bag as a pillow, he laid on the ground, his thick cloak used as his blanket against the cold win of the night.
“I trust the fire will keep all unwanted animals away,” Bruce said and then closed his eyes to sleep.
