Saketh Jaswindi Vox sighed.
The coach was depressingly empty, and the occasional wobble of the axels under the carrige made her think the bolts around them needed to be tightened. Her father wouldn't allow her to fix it, nor would the coach driver, though she was perfectly capable. They would call in a servant from the castle. She tilted her head back against the cushioned seat. There was a stack of small meals in the corner, on the opposite seat. She specifically ignored it. Maybe this time her father would get the message- she didn't need to be babied like this anymore. And yet, he still let her carry her dagger with her, and perhaps she was capable enough to handle a sword- more than capable, as she was sure the swordmasters had informed him. She'd even sparred with the swordmaster himself and won. She smiled to herself, and finished the braid of her pale hair, making sure to wind it around her head. A few strands escaped, but she had no pins to keep them back. The duke of wherever wouldn't care about her- just what she looked like. And her status, of course.
Just then, there were a few muted thuds outside. Her eyes snapped open.
