Maura caught the last bit of Otis's comment and blushed. "Thank you." She said softly, running her hands through her long hair.
Truthfully, she thought his stuttering was adorable. It saddened her to think of him finding his mate, but she quickly wanted to slap herself for thinking something so self-centered. Without thinking, she blurted, "Who's your mate?". There was the slightest hint of jealousy in her tone, which made her blush and turn away embarrassingly. "I'm sorry- you don't have to answer that. It just sort of came out." Truthfully she had felt like her inner wolf needed to know, not necessarily Maura. It would explain the burning jealousy and the needing to know who he would end up with.
