Alec smiled as he said farewell to his guardians, both his biological parents having had passed away in an accident not long after his second year, and boarded the train. It only too the dark haired boy a few moments before he found the compartment where his best friend was sitting with a few other Slytherins, some being well known Pure-bloods and Half-bloods.

He quietly entered the compartment and moved to sit next to his friend, shaking his black hair out of his dark brown eyes as he turned to face the second oldest and only Slytherin Potter. He had a small smirk on his lips as he spoke, his tone sounding lazy.

" How was the rest of your holidays?"

Cassi smiled mischieviously at the new addition to their compartment as a frustrated witch closed the sliding door behind him muttering about how rude it was to leave it open. She ignored the other girl except for shooting an icy glare at Leonora Burke, a distant relative of Alec's, before replying to the boy.

" As boring as ever," Cassi tossed her long black hair over her shoulders, save for one piece, and rolled her lovely brown eyes that were lined in dark eyeliner. She arched one elegantly shaped eyebrow before continuing. " I got the whole 'Being a Slytherin is sure to do good for the Potter and Weasley family' speech from my mother and father, as well as my godmother who told my uncle to suck up old house rivalries." At this, almost all the students sitting within the train compartment laughed.

" It really must be a drag to be a Potter, eh Potter?" One boy said cruelly, nudging his two buddies beside him as they laughed. Cassi froze, forgetting her previous conversation for the time being as she turned from Alec to face this 'young man', a sixth year, and smiled ever so sweetly at him before replying in a cold and completely serious tone. " Not as bad as being a Bulstrode, now is it?" The room became quiet as everyone was quite aware of the enimosity that had bloomed between Nikolas Bulstrode and Cassiopeia Potter when she had rejected to date him back in their third year. " Still accepting others' pity dates, Niko? Mine won't be coming anytime soon." He wasn't an unattractive young man, Cassi would be the first to admit, but it was his attitude and treating girls like they were House-Elves that had made her feel absolutely disgusted by him.

The she turned back to Alec, who currently had a look of amusement on his face, and continued talking with him. After a while, Alec and Cassi left for only a moment to put her black robes on with the green and silver Slytherin badge on them only to come back to a few giggles. That was normal, the rumours going around from last year about the pair dating. After all, they weren't true; not that they really cared about it.
