Ejin nodded to himself. After hearing the scattered remarks about nobility, mercenaries and hiring, he knew enough. The man dressed in all red with red hair was in charge of a band of mercenaries, which as far as he knew included this man, Hallik, and probably some others around the bar. Additionally, they were short on mages and people were begging to join their group. Obviously they had much power, but perhaps lacked some key resources. This would make them a powerful ally if he could get on their side.

He was suddenly awoken from his daze as a man flopped down into the seat next to him and immediately started a conversation. Hello, man. What brings you out of the wastes?! Hee looked to his left and spotted the man who was apparently named Hallik. Ejin hadn't noticed before, but he looked rather strong for his relatively short height. He also could not discern many features that lay under the large white cloak he wore, save his incredibly tan skin. Perhaps he was another man from the desert? That would explain his openness towards him; not many people left the desert once they went there, so he probably didn't see many others from their homelands.

He dropped a few coins on the counter and accepted his ale as he responded to the man. "I'm performing research for someone back in Gestal. However, I've kinda run short on luck. I stopped here in town so I can restart my journey with a fresh mind tomorrow." He sipped his alcohol before erupting in a massive coughing fit. It was extremely powerful compared to the spirits they had in his neighborhood, and it was a wonder the little bit he drank didn't get him immediately drunk. He put the mug back on the counter. "If it isn't too apparent, I just left a few weeks ago."
