"Hey heyy I was just joking" said the stray struggling in Varthur's grip. "Can't we just talk things over.. be friends?" he said with an attempt at a smile. Varthur raised an eyebrow at him unconvinced then sighed. "It's pathetic what your kind will say just to get out of a situation.." he said his thought out loud which highly offended the stray. "My kind huh? We're in the same boat you and me.. we're both strays trying to make a living--" Varthur scratched the stray's cheek instantly so the top of the Z was formed. "Don't make me complete that letter-- I may be a stray but I'm nothing like you" he said defensively with a warning glare to which the stray could no longer respond. "And it's not just your jokes I'm sick of.. your whole tough act makes me sick. Don't you EVER lay a paw on my new friends or I swear you'll regret it..." Varthur finished, letting go of the cat and walking away giving the stray a second chance.
Alas the stray decided to fight back.
The stray after being released and watching Varthur turn his back couldn't stand the humilation and pounced Varthur from behind. Varthur suspected as much and as the cat landed clawed on his back, slammed the cat against the brick wall beside him. The stray fell off his back unconscious from the blow.
"Tsk.." Varthur muttered to himself looking back on the stray before looking forward and noticing Rosalie.
He gulped feeling uncomfortable. Had she seen the whole thing...? He looked away as he walked closer as nobody he had friended ever saw that side of him.
